Christ, Hartmann pisses me off sometimes, lol. Can someone, anyone, convince me how the choice to smoke correlates to being killed by Islamic Fundamentalists in relation to what the government should or should not do? They are right on about why they hate us i.e. infidels on Arab soil, mainly the Arab peninsula, support of oppressive regimes, Saudi, Israel, but to disregard cultural influence is a mistake as it is certainly another reason why they hate us and not a small one.
He's making a somewhat complex point, I think. He could have been more straight-forward, though.
It seems to me that his position is that "death is death." Regardless of it's cause, is there any reason to pursue protection from one source of death over another? He's pointing at a bit of hypocracy on the part of both the American government, as well as our people for being so easily swayed into war.

I agree 100%, people start smoking KNOWING it will kill them, but no one volunteers to be killed by a terrorist.
