Before the scar Mello was badass, but he kinda looked like a girl(his fangirls can't even deny it) so the scar made him look more manly as well as looking badass. no, i don't think jails should be removed, but jails are different from the death note. Death notes kill people without giving them a chance of redemption. And the jail sytem is corrupted, thats why it doesn't work. Once you get out, its impossible for people to hire you, but you have to eat, right? i believe it was a 50-50 chance when mello died because mikami could just as easily caused takada's death early if so near would still have found the fake deathnote however light would know this and with takada gone he would be forced to take the eye deal then while in the end kill near eliminating any that could have proven his actions even if matsuda shot him that would only make him less apparent to be kira, besides what happened to matt would surely happen to all there to uphold kira
the whole reason LIght lost to Near was because of Mikami's disobedience. If he had left the note alone, like he was supposed to, then Light would have won.

Matt is a interesting character, Just because there isn't alot about a character doesn't meant they can't be your favorite. The fact that it leaves room for speculation is a reason in itself to enjoy the character. For example L although a main character was mysterious, a reason to enjoy his presence. Lines don't matter anyway, someone may barely say anything at all and still end up being cool. Look at Watari, Sharpshooter who could hit anything from what they showed.
You don't know much about him because nobody knows much about him because very little about him is shown! You can pick a random minor character and say he's your favorite for no reason, but don't yell at me for telling you THAT'S STRANGE! IT IS!

From what I remember after reading Death Note: How To Read it was attested that she died February 14, 2011 after committing suicide.
Misa killing herself sounds pretty plausible to me since she stated in various times that she cannot live without Light.

i believe it was a 50-50 chance when mello died because mikami could just as easily caused takada's death early if so near would still have found the fake deathnote however light would know this and with takada gone he would be forced to take the eye deal then while in the end kill near eliminating any that could have proven his actions even if matsuda shot him that would only make him less apparent to be kira, besides what happened to matt would surely happen to all there to uphold kira

the whole reason LIght lost to Near was because of Mikami's disobedience. If he had left the note alone, like he was supposed to, then Light would have won.

you don't know much about him since he's such a minor character so how can you really KNOW him? Good looks, smoking and doing "techy stuff" is enough to be one of your favorite people? It's just a little strange is all. In any case, it must kinda suck to have one of your favorite characters do so little and then die.

Matt is a interesting character, Just because there isn't alot about a character doesn't meant they can't be your favorite. The fact that it leaves room for speculation is a reason in itself to enjoy the character. For example L although a main character was mysterious, a reason to enjoy his presence. Lines don't matter anyway, someone may barely say anything at all and still end up being cool. Look at Watari, Sharpshooter who could hit anything from what they showed.
