A very nice song, I love the visuals, but it is slanted and inaccurate. Prussia did not instigate the war, Austria and Maria Theresa did because she was an exceptionally sore loser. Fritz instigated the attack, but if he didn't, she would have. She surrounded Prussia from the North, South, and East, his back to the sea with a tempted Sweden across the way. He initiated attack so he wouldn't be stuck in a defensive war. So saying Prussia is a "War God" is not fair. He just kicks ass.
@painoftheheart12 Actually she wanted to get Silesia which was taken from her earlier. It's kinda natural I guess? Oh but of course history can be interprated in maaany ways.
@Jubiliana She wasn't even using Silesia, all the raw ore in the region was just sitting there and Prussia had every reason to ask for it, they could only manufacture silk before the War of Austrian Succession, which was VERY expensive for the Prussian Government. And overall, Fritz had asked for the land in exchange for good relations and she refused because she felt attacked because of her sex. She was very short-minded and insecure.
@painoftheheart12 Silesia is quite an important region because of it's bituminious coal and more. You said she was short-minded? On the other hand Fritz was myzogonist, who hated women because of a diease. Asked for a land for good relationship? It's a threat? Most of the wars started because someone "asked" for a land. It's normal for country to decline, even if the region is not important. If she would bow down to him, she would show her weakness. Both of them had they're defectes.
@Jubiliana He hated women? If that was true yuou would think he would have divorced his wife whom the Austrians forced him to marry over the English Princess he WANTED to marry. He even fled his country to escape to England to live in exile, but was caught by his father and was forced to witness his best friend's death. And never did he threaten her. He knew Austria's military would be weaker with a woman leader, it's well known Maria Theresa was only good at social reform . . .
@Jubiliana By the way. I'm not saing Fritz was as horrible person or something like that or thet Maria was someone perfect. I only think history shouldn't be one sided. It's much more complicated and yeah thanks to my studies I know something about this. Both of them was at fault for many reasons. And Silesia was outcome of a much bigger and longer conflict (the key role in rulling HRE). Maria Theresa as a woman was just an excuse.
@Jubiliana But Fritz sent a letter asking for Silesia in exchange for protecting Austria's borders and she took it personally, but her failure that, even with a larger country, she could not defeat Prussia is proof that France and Saxony would have had no problem. Either give it to Prussia or have it taken by other opportunistic countries. Not only that, but she was lying, manipulative, and self-assuming. For cripe's sake, she dressed in funeral attire and went to Hungary . . .
@painoftheheart12 Of course she couldn't defeat Prussia. Austrian army at that time was in terrible state. Blindly believing in they former glory. But, that doesn't mean that country can give away they're territory. It's like admitting defeat without a war. It's politicaly the worst mistake, despite what we may think. If she would agree to this, she would depend on him. And well Fritz was manipulative too. They both were. He was better strategist that for sure. But he wasn't a saint.
@Jubiliana Holding her newborn son and crying saying that Prussia would destroy Austria, BUT PRUSSIA NEVER HAD THAT GOAL. It was only in defense after Austria mobilized to take back land that she didn't even know how to use. If you can prove to me Fritz EVER hated women, please be sure to tell me, because I have NEVER seen anything more than half-assed speculation.
@painoftheheart12 I read many books, and most of them wrote about this. He hated woman - it's not a theory, rather a fact. Theories are more about why he hated them, that's all. Yet you still can not believe me. It's not like I force you.
As I said, it's part of a much bigger conflict. And yes, Prussia didn't want to destroy the country itself, but Prussia wanted defeat Austria because of political issue in HRE. It's as I said, a big, complicated conflict. It's impossible to take just one side.
@Jubiliana State one thing that shows he hates women, not what someone says, but what he physically DID! Just because people say it doesn't make it fact, The Theory of Relativity is stated in so many things by so many people, however it is STILL just a theory, so please, point out one physical thing Fritz did that says he hates women with no augmentative room. I just proved he didn't since he WANTED TO MARRY A WOMAN! Where, without a shadow of a doubt, can you say he hated women?
@Jubiliana Also, most nobility who hated their spouses, actually, ALL nobility, divorced, banished, and sent them to convents, Fritz's wife was always his wife to the day of his death, yes he did not love her, but that's because he had been forced to marry her when he wanted to give his heart to another Princess. But just because he didn't love the woman he was forced to marry, does that mean he hated all women!? Absolutely NOT! That's like saying if a boy doesn't like a certain girl he ...
@Jubiliana hates the entire female population. First of all, it's asinine, second, it's utter stupidity to believe something like that when FRITZ WAS WILLING TO GIVE UP HIS THRONE TO ESCAPE TO ENGLAND AND MARRY THIS ONE GIRL! He was willing to give it ALL up because he could not be wed to the girl of his choice and was being forced to wed this woman pressed upon him by Austria's government. Even more, he never replaced her and had her jealously competing with mistresses.
@painoftheheart12 Yes, but there were theories that he started to be myzogonist after this incident. We can't decide, was it true or not, also history tends to make up many things. And you don't have to Caps Lock, I know this fact. As I told you before I red books. And even though, he wasn't a saint. Being a mysogonist or not doesn't change a thing. You're angry because of what I wrote about Fritz, yet you keep calling Maria Theresa "short minded". It's the same thing.
@Jubiliana I am not yelling, yelling is OMG WTF!!!!!!!!!! THIS is EMPHASIS! Understand that we can bold or italicize on these comments, so of course I need to find SOME way to simulate my speech patterns.
@painoftheheart12 And you? The facts you presented as "Maria Theresa was short-minded" don't speak to me either, when I look at whole history of this two countries and the whole Europe. And sorry about Caps Lock, I usually understand it as "yelling", cause most people use it like that. I don't tend to use it when I'm speaking my mind.
@Jubiliana okay, here, lemme state my entire standing with Maria Theresa. She was the world's first feminist. She was hard-nosed because she felt that being a woman leader she was being targeted because of THAT and not one moment thought that is could be something else. Not only that, she manipulated the Diet of Budapest by dressing in funeral attire and holding her newborn son with tears streaming down her cheeks saying that Austria was going to be destroyed, which strikes a very strong cord
@painoftheheart12 Yes, that your statment. Yet I don't agree with all "feminist" thing and you don't have the prove about this either. Again it's hust historician speculation. She was not the first woman to do things like that. History is full of them, believe me. Just look at Ancient Rome, you found some far worse examples than her. And as I said earlier, her "fenimism" was not the reason. The conlifct Prussia-Austria was much older than that.
@Jubiliana Maria Theresa was a feminist simply because she refused help from a man. That is really all that needs to be said for feminists, they take it as an attack and she toiok it as an attack. How can anyone even deny that. But I already proved over and over Fritz was not Myzogonist. There's no way that statement holds water, whereas feminist does.
@Jubiliana At this point let me give you a vocabulary lesson. I am open to different views if the person has something to found it. If you cannot found it, you have no right holding said opinion. You are blind to logic and are just as hard-nosed and say things without any actual proof just saying "I read books" Well, I read books too, but I bring out SPECIFICS, you are either exceptionally lazy, or stupid. Stupidity is the will NOT to learn, and that's all I see.
@painoftheheart12 But the examples you brought up can person easily interprated other way around. I'm trying to be nice, I don't call you stupid or anything like that. Till now I really enjoyed conversation, because of the way we exchange our opinion. And then you suddenly started calling me "stupid". What a surprise. Is it because I didn't agree with you? That's sad. I brough you examples. History, mind you. I mention HRE, didn't I? So I made my point clear, why I think other way than you.
@painoftheheart12 I learn a lot, but what should I learn from what you wrote to me, when I knew this fact already? You made your point clear, how YOU view Maria Theresa. I can view her in a different way. Is it a big problem? I don't see it, that's why I ended the conversation. If you start to just call me "stupid", then I have nothing more to say to you. It's sad, but oh well. I CAN surely live with one person calling me that.
@Jubiliana Correction, you have no right unless you have reason. People who believe they have a right to state an opinion on absolutely no grounds are arrogant and self-assuming. You are that precisely. You have said nothing to back up your side, nor to even disqualify mine. You are very bad at debating. Debating is not about stating opinions and sitting back fanning yourself, it is about actively bringing in a case and point, and even more you instigated it. You could have kept your mouth shut.
@painoftheheart12 Not really. Whether Maria Theresa was a feminist or not is more a discussion, not stating a fact. Simply because we can't do that. I told you arguments. You simply ignore them. If that's the case then I'm sorry. We can't talk any longer. If you see this as an argue, that's sad. I thought it was more a conversation. The saddest part is the fact that you're the one who's insulting me, while I'm trying to be polite. You're too emotional to prolong this conversation. Bye.
@Jubiliana I was not becoming emotional, I was stating specific facts, not once did you. But you know, I'm not one to leave conversations hanging. I always have something to correct. I did not insult you, I simply said that you had a stupid air not listening. You never said anything worth listening to. Give me dates, events, names, situations, persepectives, but you did none of that. And you sound just like those ignorant children in my school, I am not emotional, I take what I say as something
@painoftheheart12 that is worth saying, you have nothing to say, you repeat yourself like a broken record and sound also very much like my Algebra II teacher who didn't know any other way of saying something. You do not bring forth a fully fledged argument, you try leeching off of mine which does not help your case because in literature, you do not answer an essay question as "Yes because . . ." You reiterate the sentence in your answer and add on to it, that is how common sense works.
@Jubiliana on me because I hate women who manipulate others through emotions. Also, I loathe liars, which was exactly what she was doing: lying. She was an excellent social reformer, women usually are, and she did bring back the worth to the Austrian courts by placing in people who deserved their rank and weren't bred into it. Overall however, I have a strong dislike to women like Maria Theresa. She strikes me as the sort of woman who would be upset for a guy holding the door open for her in
@Jubiliana our modern day. She was a hardheaded, stubborn woman who really had no clue how to run a military. Kudos to her for taking the time to take herself to the front, even while pregnant, but emotionally driven people don't sit well with me. I am very logically orientated.
@Jubiliana And Fritz is also speculated to be gay, yet he never had any emotional connections beyond friendship with any other males. These theories are based solely on the fact that he spent most of his time away from his wife pursuing things like music and philosophy over sexual appetite and heirs to his throne. But just because he never wanted to spend time with a woman he had no feelings for does not mean he hated women all together, unless you can prove it indisputably.
I just love watching this, especially now that my class is having a test on this tomorrow. When I get tired of looking over my notes, I just watch this and relax. ^^
They really do need to make a download link for this version! Sound Horizon + Hetalia = AWESOMENESS!! xD
ugh god! outta all the voices i cant hear how enlgand sounds here!!! >:( i noe he screams (nd its sexy~) but i just couldnt here wat he said!! TT^TT sry i had to comment again cuz its so FRUKING AWESOME.
....I used to hate history, but if history lesson is this AWESOME everytime, I'll love to be a historian. Haha, if only my country's history was also made into an epitome of AWESOMENESS like this, maybe I wouldn't have to be afraid of the finals as much.
But then again, my country is not as awesome as Prussia, who sounds so goddamn sexy here. Especially the scream at the beginning.
@Feanorielle: The weirder (or even better) thing is that Frederick the Great supported the match between Catherine and Peter III (for political reasons). He even asked to meet Catherine before sending her off to Russia with her mother to meet Elizabeth.
I don't get Austria's comment about France being devoted to save America and that Pirate (who I assume is England)... wasn't France fighting against England :S
Seriosly, an epic video. I love every second of it. However, I'm slightly confused at the part where Fritz says that he's tired....did he die then? Or pass it down to the next in line? I haven't studied that part in history yet. >.< Gawd, I just love Prussia now, it's so interesting to learn by watching these. :) Awesome video! Thanks for the upload!
@leitedestiny The part where Fritz says he's tired probably refernces the time after Kunersdorf. He did say that he wouldn't survive the death of his nation (or something like that). ...after searching through two books, here it is. "[...] this is a horrible disaster, I will not survive it. [...] and I won't lie, I think everything is lost: I won't survive my fatherland's death. Goodbye forever." ;A; (And then Elizabeth died, Miracle of Brandenburg and stuff. :D)
S-SHIT!!! THIS IS SO AMAZING!!! HISTORY!! HISTORY JUST BECAME MORE AWESOME!! God I was squeeling on my seat the whole time watching this!! These singings are amazing! I'm SO looking forward for more 8D
BTW. is that Spain in England's arms? (brown hair green eyes and all) Isn't Spain the niichan for england o_O and Empress Elizabeth or Russia right?
hi~it was awesome..i love it so much <3 i repeat it..it was AWSOMEE<3 congratulations n__n... i'm going to do a spanish fandub of this song and i want to ask you..can i have the karaoke of this song? please n__n if you can tell me how have this i would be happy...thank you and of a third time: your chorus is awesome.
sorry for my bad english xDD i speak in spanish : D
AWESOOOOOME! (of course, it's about Prussia Sama!!) I think I saw a cosplay skit with that song, once... It was totally epic... thanks for the sub!
2:40... that's wrong... France is trying (and fails) to save New France, not America ^^' right? Or am I getting my history wrong? ... Oh Canada, my poor country, always getting mixed up with America...
@imakittycatdancer As Mo said, that's another war, this epic vid is referring to what we call in the states as The French and Indian War. It was known in Europe as the 7-Years' War because it lasted 9 years here (being America for me), and started two years later there.
You know, while flipping through one of my Dad's history books, I read something about a suspicion of Maria Theresa and Old Fritz being in love...can somebody confirm or correct that? ^^;
@DoitsuSanNoBAKA Fritz actually proposed to Maria Theresa once, but I'm pretty sure she rejected him out of hatred. (It's probably something Gil and Rod never speak about).
...a; ldchs;dfj ga;cg EPIC. I love the parts where they scream CHARGE and when Prussia tells his army to follow him. The whole vid was awesome, really!
i love this vid but do you know/ remember were you got this song from and were i can get it love the vid love the characters love the song keep making vids
@SujuShanna What do you mean? Silesia is a land between Austria and Prussia. Today the area belongs to Poland, and the Germans living there were forced to move into Germany after the WWII. But in the past, it was a rich country with lots of people, agriculture and minerals.
The Silesians were Protestants, and therefore didn't like living in the Roman-Catholic Austria, and wanted to belong to the Protestant Prussia instead. That's why Fritz was greeted as a liberator when he invided Silesia.
cool video. It's actually pretty accurrate; around the middle of the war Prussia was near defeat but then the ended up winning. :D Great way to turn the tables there.
Btw, at 7:18 when they sing "Who left his land was the lady of nation", does it actually refer to Catherine the Great? She was originally Prussian princess and related to Old Fritz, but she got married to Russia's crown prince Peter. Though she wanted and did become real russian, I can't help but to chuckle about good Prussian genes having something to do with the fact she become to be called "great", just like Fritz.:P
Could be. Me just likes making things unneededly complicated... ^~^'
Silesia is another funny thing, because Silesian actually HATED Austria with burning passion and WANTED to be part of Prussia. When Prussian army invided Silesia, the people helped them any way they could and even joined them. And when there was battle, the people would pray for Prussian victory.
So Gilbert is really mistrated in Hetalia sometimes. He didn't do "unspeakable things" to the lands he stole.
@moforever00 It could also be about how Maria Theresa's father, with the Pragmatic Sanction made everyone recognize that after he died that since he had no male heir. that Maria, being the oldest and probably the wisest, must be allowed to take the throne over others, such as Albert of Bavaria or even Frederich.
(What do you mean by subbing this using a program?)
So far I don't see the same video or videos of the original songs being deleted. Moreover, the song in this video is an adapted version. I guess it'll be fine.
After all, my main focus is the translation and it's available in a text file online. I'll just let it be if it's deleted because many others have uploaded the same video XD Anyway, I won't mind if you really wanna sub this.
It can't be~ I can't sing heavy metal like Gilbo XDD
Just search 'Seven weeks war' in Youtube and you'll see the subbed video. I didn't add that to my playlist because the melody is too funny and my playlist is called 'cool Gilbert'......may be I should reconsider it. The lyrics are actually quite serious (and educational?)
If you mean "Aber die Jahreszeit ist nur mit dem flüchtigen Glanz vergangen", it's more like "But the season just vanished with the brief sheen". But good job, I really love the vid^^

Overall however, I have a strong dislike to women like Maria Theresa. She strikes me as the sort of woman who would be upset for a guy holding the door open for her in
painoftheheart12 2 weeks ago
@Jubiliana our modern day. She was a hardheaded, stubborn woman who really had no clue how to run a military. Kudos to her for taking the time to take herself to the front, even while pregnant, but emotionally driven people don't sit well with me. I am very logically orientated.
painoftheheart12 2 weeks ago
@Jubiliana And Fritz is also speculated to be gay, yet he never had any emotional connections beyond friendship with any other males. These theories are based solely on the fact that he spent most of his time away from his wife pursuing things like music and philosophy over sexual appetite and heirs to his throne. But just because he never wanted to spend time with a woman he had no feelings for does not mean he hated women all together, unless you can prove it indisputably.

@12thNameITried The translation is not very accurate and causes misunderstanding. It actually means: France fights that pirate to save America.

Thanks for the upload!
leitedestiny 1 year ago
@leitedestiny The part where Fritz says he's tired probably refernces the time after Kunersdorf. He did say that he wouldn't survive the death of his nation (or something like that). ...after searching through two books, here it is. "[...] this is a horrible disaster, I will not survive it. [...] and I won't lie, I think everything is lost: I won't survive my fatherland's death. Goodbye forever." ;A; (And then Elizabeth died, Miracle of Brandenburg and stuff. :D)

DoitsuSanNoBAKA 1 year ago 5
@DoitsuSanNoBAKA I really doubt it. I've read somewhere that Maria Theresa completely despised Fritz. She referred to him as, "That Evil Man."
snyder8686 1 year ago
@DoitsuSanNoBAKA Fritz actually proposed to Maria Theresa once, but I'm pretty sure she rejected him out of hatred. (It's probably something Gil and Rod never speak about).

who is silesia? hungary?
SujuShanna 1 year ago

:D Great way to turn the tables there.
pimasta314 1 year ago
Btw, at 7:18 when they sing "Who left his land was the lady of nation", does it actually refer to Catherine the Great? She was originally Prussian princess and related to Old Fritz, but she got married to Russia's crown prince Peter. Though she wanted and did become real russian, I can't help but to chuckle about good Prussian genes having something to do with the fact she become to be called "great", just like Fritz.:P
/end of the random history lesson
Feanorielle 1 year ago 70
It's the scene of Maria Therea and Old Fritz at 7:18 so I think it simply means Maria Theresa lost Austria's land to Fritz (Silesia again?)
moforever00 1 year ago 7
Feanorielle 1 year ago 2
@moforever00 It could also be about how Maria Theresa's father, with the Pragmatic Sanction made everyone recognize that after he died that since he had no male heir. that Maria, being the oldest and probably the wisest, must be allowed to take the throne over others, such as Albert of Bavaria or even Frederich.
