  • This type of singing is a lost art in 2012 It's a shame...If it were not for these types of songs sung by pastors with his type of spirit most of us would still be lost. Thank God for the old hymns of the church! And pastors such as Bishop Ellis. I never knew or met him, but his spirit is familiar.

  • I believe in old hyms. I think when contemporary music started we were so captivated we forgot the hyms. One reason I stopped going to church is because everthing was contemporary , and believe it is beautiful music. But I don't want to lose this style of worship either. I know I need to go back to church. I got tired of the people and minister calling music like this "dead music"

  • SO SORRY FOR BISHOP D. L. ELLIS, PASSING. THIS IS MY FIRST TIME WATCHING HIM, I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF HIM AND HIS CHURCH. MY KIND OF CHURCH. I'M FROM , NEW JERSEY. GOD BLESS!!!!

  • great old hymns in the great baptist church

  • is that Bishop Combs to the left of Bishop Ellis?

  • the new songs are great but nothing and i mean nothing will ever take the place of these blessed old songs of the church

  • All of us that Belive in the GOSPEL, THE DEATH BURIAL AND RESSURECTION OF JESUS CHRIST SHOULD ONE DAY GET TOGHETHER ACROSS THIS COUNTRY, AND JUST PRAISE GOD THROUGH THESE VARIOUS SONGS, WE ALL SING THEM OR HAVE SUNG THEM IN OUR CHRISTIAN WALK. THIS IS ONE OF THEM...

  • GREAT SONG

  • A song of Absolute truth. It has weathered the storms of Christian Battle. These are the songs we need to teach our young today wheather they want to hear them or not. As they age the lyrics will arise fresh within they're hearts souls and minds. Sing my Brother, Sing Bishop.......Pastor Rodger D. Lawson Sr.,

  • What do the different color robes mean?

  • the one that bishop Ellis is wearing was at that time the official robe of the diocesans; the others white with red tunics trimmed in gold were then the robe of the Suffragan Bishop which are assistants to the Bishop of the Diocese; finalkly the blue and white robes were those worn by the District Elders.

  • We used to sing this song at St. Mark Church of Holiness in Chicago, Il under the late Bishop Ralph Terry. I miss this kind of singing. Nothing against the Praise and Worship Teams, but I just miss devotionals, testimony service and all the like.

  • Im 34 and i miss it to seems like it was more POWER in the church back then!!!!!

  • Well, the bible tell us they were overcome by their testimonials. People really should think before they remove testimony service, I don't need anyone to sing nor testify for me, let me do it for myself! BE BLESSED!

  • Let me testify and sing for myself, the bible tell us that they were overcome by their testimonials! Preachers are changing everything now days: testimony service, and the ALTERS in the church are just a few! That's why the church is in the shape it is!
