oh i had the same problem....u gotta open it before u remove the glass because i gotta bassically rip the glass off and scrape the peices with a knife like u started, the glass and digitalizer or the touch part are one peice so u just romve the hole thing and put a new one over the lcd, just fore referance lol, hope i might help someone
@AlikertheiPodhacker the digitalizer and lcd are deffinatly no one peice, the glass and digitalizer are though, i bought one with cracked glass for a good deal bought the digitalizer and glass and it would have worked but i was uber careful tilli broke the lcd (seperate part) but i just bought a new lcd too

@blckshdw95 No problem, Yes A1203 is the 2G. The bad thing is on the iPhone 4 they did the same thing as the 2G the LCD is glued with the digitizer Glass.
@AlikertheiPodhacker did they really? it musta have been for the thinner design, and you seem like the person to ask but what exactly is holding them back from producing the white model of the iphone 4, i like the look of it and might get it but keeps getting delayed, i heard on engadget there having trouble with their manufacturer
@blckshdw95 We have heard from one of our suppliers that apple has a change coming to the internals on the iPhone 4. So basically we think apple is fixing the antenna problem before they ship any defective white models out. They are going to release everything at once. I already have a front face white iPhone 4.

you cant just replace the digitizer you have to replace the whole thing. (digitizer/LCD)
you can try and take off the glass but most of the time you will break it.

@blckshdw95 Yes this is true for the iPhone 3G and 3GS BUT on the 2G the LCD and digitizer glass are one piece.
