  • hey there, microsoft has created a tool for this (checked and working) search google for: windows 7 usb dvd download tool

  • @atnih windows 7 usb dvd download tool is indeed the best tool to use for this but it wasn't developed by microsoft, but by an open source group called CODEPLEX

  • I really like your voice.

  • Great video, easy to follow works perfect. I have my flash drive with all my os back ups on them. I boot from my flash drive it makes it so much easier and faster to install windows.

  • worked great.. dont put 1 or l at the end put the letter u see on your drive.. thanks again

  • dont just believe guys.. this is perfect as excellent way to make bootable flash drive... any OS you can just copy paste to your flash drive and install it.. We use this normally for netbooks which doesnt have dvd drives...

  • I believe it's all waste of time, instead buy a portable cd/DVD Rom drive and you can install windows on any laptop which does not have cd/DVD Rom !!

  • @lhakpa32 Dude, this is the generation neno technology... the smaller they make our devices, the faster and powerful they get. No one needs to be carring all kinds of devices around when you can just keep all of your tools in your pocket and go about your business. you really need to get out more and you most def need to read about the new and upcoming... i know a 14 year old that is light years ahead of you.

  • Thanks brotha! Good tutorial.

  • Thank You

  • NO THUMB DRIVE can i use a ipod?

  • should i install first win7 installer ISO after i reformat my netbook?

  • @m4tm4txd can u tell me where i can find the command promt?

  • @Daejuan37 Dont know about an iPod but if you have an external you can partition about 16gb off of that and just treat that secondary partition as if it was the thumb drive. Thats what I did.

  • @m4tm4txd ummmm.... first of all... what?!?! if you have reformatted your netbook then you would HAVE to install AN operating system. AT LEAST!

but to answer your question, yes.

  • it can reformat a netbook? please reply fast. :)))

  • @m4tm4txd yeah of course.. just do it the way he says you will need a dvd with the installation of win7/vista, just type the commands, and boot from your USB. You may have to change the boot device from the bios, usually F12 or Delete button before it starts loading windows/linux. Just change it, boot from USB, and select to do a clean install and not an upgrade..

  • @BigChineseClock thankyou.

  • If this was your first video? you should be on TV, great job mate! Regards from Montevideo!

  • do you have to have the windows iso mounted to the virtual drive BEFORE you copy the bootmanager file to the usb drive in the last step of the process?

  • i didnt do the last bit, the xcopy bit, but instead when i typed assign and my thumbdrive popped up i dragged the everything from the drive that my widows 7 is in into the thumbdrive... would this still work or do i need to do it again?

  • @mizernika format it first ....in windows , right click on it . ...select format

  • my usb doesnt show. please help?

  • @Mowgaliser If you plug in the USB drive and you can see it in explorer or My Computer, it should show up when you do a list disk from diskpart.

  • @ntworkg0d it comes up in my computer but not in diskpart =|

  • @Mowgaliser Try unplugging it and doing a DISKPART and see what's in there, then plugging it back in and after the drivers install do another DISKPART. See if there's a difference

  • @ntworkg0d yepp ive tried that and it still doesnt work. i can see my external hard drives and internal. but not my usb

  • Thanks so much for the video. You should create more video!

  • takes forever to format
