wow, some odd posts on here. mantas are harmless filter feeders. most all divers know not to touch marine life, kinda surprised and disappointed she did
She is holding onto the tail of a Remora which is a fish that attaches itself to sharks and rays using a sucker device on the top of it's head. It hitches a ride on the host species and feeds on bits of food that don't make it down the throat . Relying on sharks and big fish also affords protection from predation.
these creatures are harmful if you don't provoke em. they will only attack you as an act of defense but others will attack cause animal instincts such as shark will only attack you if they smell blood or you move about like a limping seal
