It's not like at first everybody called it a masterpiece, and then backed down. You may not have liked it that much, but dozens of reviews that scream "masterpiece" aren't going to go anywhere. So go and get it on kòòkica now and enjoy!

Much better than expected, couldn't see how a whole film about this could be entertaining, charming, thoughtful, and funny, but it was. A film for once that is all based on character development and how money and power can effect people. Search for it on kòòkica. Great performances for all involved, highly reccommend.

For me any film that has 'replay/re-watch value' (and not many action films these days do) is worthy of at least 8 out of ten. I would give this one 9 out of Ten, it is not perfect but it is still a brilliant film to see on kòòkica!!

Magnificent movie!! It is great project from all the production who worked on it. I think things changed in it..it has not predictable plot, totaly not convincing acting and stupid jokes...it has something totaly different. I won't tell you everything because I will destroy the surprise...so go to kòòkica and see it!

This film is one of those films that really make you think about family, and how one significant situation can either make or break a family. I thought that Robert did really well in the film. considering that we are all used to seeing him in a more"bad-ass" type of role, seeing him in a film of this caliber really made him as an actor.

I think that change is something actors need to do to stay somewhat relevant. You can't have DeNiro playing the same tough guy nowadays. The best example is when he tried to be the tough guy in Righteous Kill.

I think it's hard for him to keep up the tough guy motif now that he's older, but I don't think he's exactly the "Everyman." I'd prefer to see him in the smartass mentor role, one where he can show off he was a tough guy in his hey-day, but now can doesn't have show off; his reputation precedes him.

This movie misses out on the Opera story, but according to these interviews (which I loved!!! what a great show), it still maintained some core of the story that managed to touch people.. that maybe they wouldn't have gotten if it were the Italian original.... I personally love foreign film but I feel like I kind of understand why people can have a hard time with it, and how filmmakers can not always do a perfect job translating the culture... anyways, another great Beyond The Trailer!

I have thought a lot about why movies don't just get re-released with English subtitles. And why they are redone so radically sometimes. I have come to feel that 'translation' involves more than just language... it is settings, characteristics of people, humor, the little things of culture. I think of otheer examples.. British The Office vs US The Office. Or West Side Story, a reteling of Romeo and Juliet. But Shakespeare himself was a reteller, and many of his works came from older stories.

Oh and to answer the question... one of my favorite DeNiro movies was the one where Robert Wuhl is an obsessive filmmaker trying to put together a deal to get his arthouse suicide epic funded. Then there is Awakenings and many others. I think Mr DeNiro has much more of a chance to do his excellent work in dealing with the human condition and complicated emotions when he is not in a shootout, although I do admit to having watched Heat like 8 times.
