He's beautiful! He's small in this video but wait till he get's to be 80 lbs or so! Lol, my dobie pup (8 months) is now 60 lbs and i already cant play rough with him like i used to! I leave that up to my husband :) They never do grow out of their playfulness though! Gotta love the Dobes!! <3

lol you laid on his head!!! i got my puppy right before winter set in at about 7wks & he was so skinny i thought he was a min pin & the guy scammed me but around here it was sooooo hard to find any regular sized dobies but i found a guy sellin them in the newspaper but now he's 6mos, puttin on good weight & all but one baby tooth is gone he's gettin his big boy teeth & gettin into more trouble but i can't wait til summer so we can run around in our big backyard

$1500 or so may not be bad, since ear croppings can range form the low hundreds to the low thousands. Also, just because someone says they are "show dogs" doesnt mean they are. I can't stress enough that you need to meet the parent dogs before you commit to a puppy. They may look good on the internet, but live in filth and have horrible temperaments in real life. So make sure you do that!

It might also be smart to talk to someone who has gotten a puppy form the breeder before and ask how the puppy was, and is doing now and everything. Also, another thing you want to make sure you do is check that they have their PARVO vaccination. PARVO runs rampent in Dobermans so BE CAREFUL!!!!

PARVO is a virus that lines the wall of the intestines of puppies/dogs and absorbs all the nutrients form their water.food. The will stop eating, and drinking, vomit many many times, have diarrhea constantly, and eventually their bowel movements will be nothing but blood. They will quit literally waste away in front of you. There is no cure, and a dog/puppy has about a 10-30% chance of surviving. Orion had PARVO as a puppy and I had to give him IV's and farce feed him with a syringe.

my dog got hit by parvo and it was really terrible, the virus spreads too and will infect others, but there was nothing the animal doctor could do cause it already too late, i was just there crying the whole day.. vaccine is recommended dont wait when its too late

Orion cost me $165 dollars. But you have to take into account that puppies will need shots, vet visits, food, toys, and everything else. Dobermans can range anywhere in price. Its up to the breeder. Make sure it is a good breeder, and make sure you meet the parents of the puppy before you get it!

very good price!!! but u are right about the extra expenses.... how much is the deworming shots and parasite shots cost? and my second problem is finding a breeder that has dobermans at all...

The shots will vary with the vet you take them too. As far as finding a breeder, you just have to look really hard, and ask around. There may not be any doberman breeders in your state either. If you REALLY want one you may have to drive and go get one. A lot of breeders also offer shipping, which I would never do, but that's up to you. :)

well i got lucky and found a breeder in my city!! the breeder's dogs are show dogs and the breeder takes care of the ear cropping, tail nubbing, deworming, parisite exam, checks the parents medical history, and they all have the akc papers! but... with all that said....the puppy cost..... $1500 or maybe a bit less.....

i got a doberman puppy myself ...he bites everything...including my hand and my legs..when he does that ...i yell at him...he is scared so he leaves me alone...but i'm worried..is this gonna hunt me when he grows up?

All dogs, especially puppies, will test their boundaries. But, they will also feed heavily on your emotions. Instead of yelling just a stern no, will suffice, Make sure your puppy knows what "NO" means. And like i told the person below you, assert yourself as the ALpha in the house. So that when you say no he/she srtops whatever they are doing immediately no questions asked. It will help when they are older, when you have children so they if they are being too rough they will immediatel stop.

thanks a lot , still...a stern no...doesn't do the job sometimes i even have to slap him with a paper or something...how can i make him understand no means no? can you give me an exemple or be more speciffic ? thanks again ( excuse my bad english is not my first language ) ( my puppy is a boy he is 7 weeks old , i have him since he was 6 weeks )...i yelled at him a few times and slaped him, he doesn't like me at all, so i want to give up on hard methods i hope is not to late

Well first you should not have been able to get a puppy less than 9 weeks old. They need to be with their mother and siblings until then to gain the necessary socialization, and nutrients from the mother, so I would have a talk with the people you got him from. To make him understand no means no, when he does something not allowed remove it immediately. If it is you he is doing something wrong to, then remove your self from him after the stern no. Dogs, learn by association.

Remeber also you have only had him for 1 week!! It takes time to train, and develop your relationship with your puppy. Don't give up on him, especially after 1 week, just keep at training and it will work out!

You don't want your dog to be scared of you because then it could grow up feeling it has to defend its self if frightened, it just needs to know you are the boss. Give them lots of love and guide them to do the right thing like a child and you will have one happy pup! Hope I helped!!

never ever yell or slap a doberman puppy -- or any other puppy for that matter. Dobes are very gentle but have the body to do damage. They were bred to be working dogs and that instinct can come out of they are abused. read books -- the ones I like are from Caesar Milan. They will help guide you -- and socialize the puppy. I have an 8 week old puppy that i make every person I meet touch and pet her.

I have the same dog, they are so lovley dogs however I have 2 major problems

1. he wants to bite me, and once itry to stop him, he will get upset and bark

2. I dont know how to make him do his business in one place, please help

well as far as biting goes... they are puppies and dogs and they want to bite as instinct. However, if you play rough with them they are naturally gunna wanna play with their mouth as most dogs do. So instead of playing with them with your arm or whatever play with a toy, so they start to associate biting with toys, it saves your arms, and trains them to bite and chew on toys instead of people.

Next for the barking, if my dobie barks, it will skold him and say no voice! If he does it again i will place my hand sternly under his chin and stand up so you are the "alpha" and say it again. If they bark again then take something away from them, if they are barking because you wont play with them then leave the room and take yourself away from them because that is what they want. That way they will associate that barking means no more playing.

that dog is playing with his owner, and if he bit you is your matter ,cause the dogs play biting. The puppies fangs are sharp, I know it for my own experience xD
