Why does anyone think it is impressive when a KTM goes flying through the air.

I have never come across a trail or road on any of my trips that require a bike to be able to do that but then I have been up roads where KTM riders have a very bad time because of the highly strung engine that does not produce any low end usable power so that the rider can do a smooth pull away on very steep and loose inclines.

Yeah.... well ...at least we can pick and chose our gearing on KTM's, simple.... just chuck a sprocket on. Don't knock it unless you have tried it friend ! I have tried it many many many times ..they love it.

A r1200gs is to heavy the 990 adventure is much more lighter!! Also more torque than a 1200 GS beemer

Do NOT buy a 990 adventure! Insane gasoline consumption, quality sucks, service intervalls sucks, spare parts are expensive, unconfortable on long trips, KTM's service mind is a joke. Again: DO NOT BUY A KTM 990 ADVENTURE

Im working as a technician for KTM. I can say, that this bike is insane. Yes, the spareparts are expensive, but look at the makers of them and allso the materials. Brembo brakes, magura hydraulic clutch, electronics from Bosch, WP suspension, titan and magnesium parts. They are expensive. But they last. There is no other bike for hard traveling. I would like to see you on an BMW GS on any of tracks, that this KTM can do. If you need a bike for Highway traveling, buy a Varadero or an V-Strom...

You can do it and more! Love mine. Bert3030 has a solid point, it is heavy. This you would know if you've ridden one on challenging dirt. Who wouldn't want it to be 75 pounds lighter?

It is 950 S, model 2005. I rided this bike in this video as part of testing. But we had it just for few hours and with road tires only... ;)
