thank you. with the recent developments. you are leaning me further and further to your life style. i am a single father, with two kids to think about. the more i watch world events and local events the more i see the need to plan ahead. my question is where to start? what is a good short term goal for a family of 3. feel free to reply in open comment i am sure others are in the same boat an maybe do not want to ask the question.

HELLO GOOD PEOPLE; i have an addeum to your thoughts of survival that many have overlooked and not addressed except by the ones knowledgeable in cold areas - bury your canned mason jars below the frost line in a dairy ,when the power goes out and you have no heat to keep those glass jars from freezing and cracking / this doesnt apply to 50% of you but the rest will see it

If you want to buy something made in THE USA you need to go to an antique store. Anyone remember in the 80s when they use to have ad campaigns on TV for made in the USA products. We need to go to a regional supported economic system where food, energy, and goods come as much as possible from your local area.

Another great video, not what we want to hear but WE HAVE to hear it. I have been out of work for a VERY long time now. And when you are going on 50 the job market is real thin. My 16 yr old son got a part time job at the same place I had been just 2 wks before. I am a single dad raising my 2 kids, and I am ashamed that my son is bring money into the house and I`m not. I do have a question for you Scott. Will we ever get our jobs back, will these business ever come back to the US?

I found this the most depressing video I've ever watched on youtube ! Probably because it's outlining so specifically the current economic position. It's almost like watching a suicide mission, watching the USA government borrow more money. I agree with you about Europe - the rest of Jan will see things begin to unravel. China is using its reserves now - Massive amounts of money being dumped in the ECB - it's a bit like watching a slow motion car crash.

well our state economist said last year it would be 2014 before we got back the jobs we lost over the last few years and then this week he changed the out look untill 2017 at the very least thats not even a year after the first one its not looking good for the next few years up here in maine

Electric.. my husband just came home from the neighbors, they had their gas turned off for lack of funds.. so they were running little electric heaters all over their house.. they got their electric bill today.. 800 and some dollars for 2 months...I am so thankful that we are prepared.. I can still pay all my bills.. and buy more food supplies to stash every month.. but gone are the days where I did actual grocery shopping.. Most people shop every week for groceries etc. so they never notice the increases in price. I shop maybe once every 2 to 3 months so I really notice the increases. The poop has hit the fan but most don't see it..Great info as usual.
