It's called seamless mode. If you are using virtualbox you need to install guest additions. You will be able to find this in the menu for the vm. After that is installed press Right Control and L .
i did that, it said connection timed out, so i found it on the internet and tried to put it in the usre - share - virtual box and it said permission denied!
Linux is the best, no matter what anyone says. This is true because it's free, and if everyone used it there would be no problems at all with drivers, and it is amazingly speedy.
just because you can't use some hardware right out of the box because the box doesn't give you linux drivers, doesn't mean it sux. Did you try to grow a pair and actually try to find the drivers online? chances are you would have found them.
Linux has built in support for ipods in most audio applications like amarok rythmbox etc... But yes you could then run itunes and this procedure. It supports USB devices being read by the guest operating system.
it's running in a virtual machine. Yes it will run directX since directX will run in windows and thats whats running on the virtual machine. The fact that its in ubuntu is irrelevant. You need to read a Wikipedia or something about virtual machines. You wont survive much longer not knowing what they are
Yes I have tried using this, but for some reason the CPU usage goes mad and I have 4 CPU's and they all go from 2% to about 80% when I try to use that program or any screen cam for that mattar. It all goes really slow and laggy. I think it might be an issue with my graphics card, though I am not sure.
so there is a version of virtualbox for ubuntu 8.10??? please reply me man because i want to install this new version and i wanna keep using virtualbox.
Just use the gutsy version the depends will be satisfied. There is a version in the repos but its is Open source edition and you won't be able to install guest additions. The one on the virtualbox site is what you want.
OMG i just noticed something look

Linux is just for productivity, Windows is for a majority of us who are not really looking for productivity but entertainment.

You mean you have 4 cores on your CPU :) Else you'd have to be on a server, or a really expensive AMD computer..
