  • OMG i just noticed something look

    :D the face right

    :P the face right

XD the face and finally XP as in windows XP its a guy sticking his tongue out

    WINDOWS RULE

  • I ran Ubuntu 10.04 in windows 7 via VMWare.

  • is that ubuntu?

  • @MultiYippee Yes. Its ubuntu and I was running a windows xp vritaul machine in seamless mode.

  • Linux Ubuntu - I love it more every day

  • nice techno music you fucking retard.

  • @nayee9 you dont know shit about the techno music

  • Wats the song called?

  • can you us it on vista

  • Vista will run in emulation, though Vista's desktop effects will not work. You can also install Ubuntu inside Vista, see Wubi.

  • Comment removed

  • what's the songs name?

btw, Xp in seamless mode runs quite smooth even on my msi wind u100 with Arch Linux :) (intel atom 1,6 GHz)

  • nice i used to use qemu, but it is slow and sucks balls

    virtualbox is the best,

    next to vmware that is

  • Seamless mode looks awesome.

  • I love virtual box, and ubuntu.

the only reason im stuck with windows is because of my addiction to gaming

  • step one is admitting you have a problem ^^

  • Linux is just for productivity, Windows is for a majority of us who are not really looking for productivity but entertainment.

  • totally agree..

    ubuntu for work

windows for watching tv, play CoD and Resident Evil haha

  • Finaly Some one who knows what they are talking about. Well stated!

  • It's perfect if you're restoring an old(er) laptop, actually.

  • what os are you using?

  • Did you even read the title?

  • please tell me how you got the virtual machine to fill up the window

  • It's called seamless mode. If you are using virtualbox you need to install guest additions. You will be able to find this in the menu for the vm. After that is installed press Right Control and L .

  • um could you explain how to set up guest additons?

  • Click Devices > Install Guest Additions

  • i did that, it said connection timed out, so i found it on the internet and tried to put it in the usre - share - virtual box and it said permission denied!

  • root the bitch

  • i just crapped my pants. what kind of setup are you running?

  • This is on my dual xeon machine. But you can run this stuff on a p4 no problems.

  • Linux is the best, no matter what anyone says. This is true because it's free, and if everyone used it there would be no problems at all with drivers, and it is amazingly speedy.

(No arguments please, I don't really care)

  • will vista work under virtualbox?

  • Yes it also has settings for windows 7.

  • just because you can't use some hardware right out of the box because the box doesn't give you linux drivers, doesn't mean it sux. Did you try to grow a pair and actually try to find the drivers online? chances are you would have found them.

  • so i could use itunes with this so i can sync with my ipod?

  • Linux has built in support for ipods in most audio applications like amarok rythmbox etc... But yes you could then run itunes and this procedure. It supports USB devices being read by the guest operating system.

  • dose this run directX. Sorry im kind of new to ubuntu

  • it's running in a virtual machine. Yes it will run directX since directX will run in windows and thats whats running on the virtual machine. The fact that its in ubuntu is irrelevant. You need to read a Wikipedia or something about virtual machines. You wont survive much longer not knowing what they are

  • alright thanks.

  • sweeeet, will try the seamless mode next time =D

  • Yes I have tried using this, but for some reason the CPU usage goes mad and I have 4 CPU's and they all go from 2% to about 80% when I try to use that program or any screen cam for that mattar. It all goes really slow and laggy. I think it might be an issue with my graphics card, though I am not sure.

  • You mean you have 4 cores on your CPU :) Else you'd have to be on a server, or a really expensive AMD computer..

  • oh yes of cource 4 cores, my bad.

  • what screen cam did you use for this? I been having lag problesm when I try to video my compiz desktop?

  • I used gtk-recordmydesktop. You should be able to find it in the repos just sudo aptitude install gtk-recordmydesktop

  • so there is a version of virtualbox for ubuntu 8.10??? please reply me man because i want to install this new version and i wanna keep using virtualbox.

  • Just use the gutsy version the depends will be satisfied. There is a version in the repos but its is Open source edition and you won't be able to install guest additions. The one on the virtualbox site is what you want.

  • thanks man, now i´m sure. :)

  • Err the hardy version sorry for the confusion either will work though their dependencies haven't changed much.

  • how you do that
