I don't use a trick to remember the chords...I find that harder. I know other people have told you them...but they didn't tell you which were which. You 1 is high E and 6 is low E...that's kind of annoying...I don't know why they didn't just use F!!

To go further into their 'string school' below, a lot of people use a short sentence to help remember. Starting with the fattest string:

E - Eat

A - A

D - Darn

G - Good

B - Breakfast

E - Everyday

Remember that saying and you will easily remember the open string names. Good luck, man.
