Hey guys i have a Chihuahua at 9 years old im pretty sure we got her from a house when she was only 4 so we have had her for 6 years she is not play full she likes to bite stuffed animals that i had for when i was a little kid and that is it we always jog together around my home so she can stay active but i want to teach her tricks like sit on command and stuff i have tried so many different things but she still doesn't listen how do i make her do stuff on command the things i try is for a week

my chihuahua is about 5-6 months old, we found him as a pup abandoned in a cardboard box. He won't come when called, destroys all my shoes, but he's really friendly and we're pretty much in sync. I think he chews cus he's still in puppy phase, but If he doesn't stop soon, my dad's going to get rid of him D:
I've tried bitterspray (non toxic to dogs) but it doesn't work.
i got a chihuahua Bebo is 7 months and i got it from a old lady cuz she cant take care of it anymore and he is too mmm baby i mean he dont growl howl or play is scare all the time what i can do?

oh lord uh oh! my chihuahua is nearly a year and a half old now! we trap her in the kitchen, close one door and built a wooden part so she cant escape cause she likes to eat and destroy everything if we let her around, The kitchen is fairly large but whenever a front door opens or somebody rings the doorbell she barks like crazy!!! CRAZY! then after 5-10 minutes she cools off it gets very annoying is their a way to make her stop? i tried carrying her but she wont stop for 5-10 minutes
i found a stray chihuahua and of course my parents put up found dog signs. For the most part we love it because it is adorable. It wont got to sleep at night and yaps until someone comes to stay with it. It also bites a lot and sometimes tries to kill some people by barking, growling, and biting :[
its hilarious... the comments about the girls and their dads. my sister has two chihuahuas... my dad spoiles them... as soon as he gets home from work they turn into different animals. if you live with your dad , do not get a chihuahua. apparently dads cannot help themselves from spoiling these lil creatures.
my chihuahhua is smart she dont pee or poop in the house she kno better she give me a warning like she go under the bed then that mean she need to pee or poop so i take her outside and she do wat she has 2 do and she eat alot but love playing wit me :)
my dog knows sit,stand ,dance and down oh and paw i say yo whats up my home dog and he gives his paw to me its funny but i cant pick him up he growls!

lol, that happens to most chihuahuas (i saw this on the dog wisperer so idk if it will work with you) what you need to do, is first grab another dog, if you can, one that is smaller then her, and grab on to her tightly, and aproach the smaller dog with caution, once she gets used to the dogs precence, then let go of her, and keep doing with bigger dogs, until she gets used to any size of dog
thank you, although it will be hard to find another dog that is smaller than her (she's the smallest chihuahua I've ever seen, and ant is more scary!!) does it work if the dog I get near to her is a lil puppy?
ell, your welcome, and you tell me, is she scared of little puppys? if she is then yes, it will work, just make sure that the puppy is not scared of her, also make sure that when you do this, and begin to change t biger dogs, try to make it so that you dont use the same dog (i.e. use a puppy, then the puppy after he grows) always happy to help =]

Our chi is 3 1/2 months old. Unfortunately, her training has been messed up when we found out she had Parvo (her brother, Brutus, died :-( ) a month and a half ago. Then we found out she had ringworm. Ugh Hopefully, that's all over with. Needless to say we haven't been able to socialize her with other dogs till recently (and house training went out the window for two weeks when she was REALLY sick). She's been around lots of people and our cats, though.

well my chihuahua doesn't have that problem but what i would do is when she tries to bite close her mouth and give her a treat that way she'll learn that biting is bad and after a while she should learn that biting toys is good and biting people is bad
What worked for us and Binx, is when she is playing with you and bites, you say "OW!" loudly [not screaming] and make it sound like it hurt. Honestly. Make it sound like it hurt-she should duck her head and almost grovel after awhile. They won't really get out of the play mouthing and biting for almost a year, but it will get a LOT better.
Gosh my chihuaha is plain dumb haha

I wouldn't let it sleep with me until is is 100% potty trained. I had a small dog - a dachshund-jack russell mix - and he liked to pee everywhere. So, I finally bound him to a corner with his leash (i didn't have a crate), and he became potty trained!
