  • dear patty loveless, please marry me

  • Love it. Great music

  • countryrocks blugrass rules

  • For Bluegrass this is a ROCKIN song......Patty has an amazing voice.

  • This show was about 3 years ago on Public Service TV. The DVD on Amazon is worth over a hundred dollars. I fortunately bought the CD. The Bruce Hornsby song is absolutely phenomenal!! It is so awesome to see musicians who are so talented. This is something that our society needs to hold on to. When we lose these musicians to rap and techno music.... ugh!

  • @Robv808 Do you have the link to the DVD or CD? Or know the name of it?

  • Anyone notice 'ol Vince Gill on the upright bass? Patty Loveless is one of the most beautiful women in the world!

  • Who is the beautiful woman holding a fiddle and singing harmony?

  • @cowdudeable Im pretty sure that is ricky scaggs wife. she sings with him sometimes. she is a white. her family has sang for many years.

  • @sally1777 Ricky Skagg's wife, Cheryl White is not in this video.

  • @headredbone Sharon White and that's not her lol

  • @sally1777 not his wife...don't know who she is but not his wife

  • Bluegrass rocks!!!

  • Have allways liked Ricky Scaggs And patty Loveless but put both of them to gather on this song and its Bluegrass Heaven on earth. You cant get any better than these two paired togather.

  • That is Vince playin' standup bass behind them.. I'll be damned.!

  • patty has one of the greatest bluegrass voice, gospel voice, country voice, shes one of a kind

  • Ooooh....patty patty patty!!!!! she's awesome!.....ok ricky...your a fine talent too!

  • forgive me lord...forgive me bill monroe.....but patty is just smokin hot and keeps getting hotter

  • @shamelessoutlaw

    :O)

(Too funny....forgive me lord, and Bill Monroe!! hhaahha)

  • Yes! Please do not call BLUEGRASS country- two way different kinds of music.

  • Love Bluegrass music.

  • Why doesn't Ricky ignore the idiots in the audience?

  • Ralph might not be satisfied, but not a bad job. Thanks.

  • 3 Incredibly harmonious voices, beautiful indeed.

  • mag patty und dieses lied

  • I like to fancy myself as a good singer and have sung most everything except Opera.

Singing bluegrass well is one of the hardest things I've ever tried. A VERY underrated art form.

And Patti is hot, too (wink)

  • Great song!..... Vince Gill is bangin' that bass!.... lol

  • Carmella Ramsey

  • Who is the lady singing with Patty and Ricky?

  • My gosh, what a performance by all involved in this video!! Patty is beautiful indeed and the other lady is lovely.

  • Patty Loveless, Ricky Skaggs and Vince Gill are the core of todays traditional country or better still bluegrass artists.....they never fail to blow me away !!!!!

  • Well, Gary, I don't think Ricky is trying to imitate Ralph Stanley. I too am a huge fan of Ralph Stanley. I wasn't aware that Ralph Stanley was a 'Mandolin' player.

I love the duet of Ralph Stanley and Patty Loveless, 'Pretty Polly'. But it doesn't compare to this video.

  • Powerful, Powerful song in the classic Bluegrass style. Performed by two Grammy Award artists. Patty loveless is one of America's treasures and has always been on 'top-shelf'. I love this woman. Ricky Skaggs is in a league of his own. Not to be outdone by anyone. He has always been one of Bluegrass music's best ambassodors.

  • @SniperzRule1 I disagree, hes a poor imitation of Ralph Stanley

  • Vince Gill playing the base behind Ricky on this

  • Ikke dårlig, absolutt ikke.

  • Respond to this video... I luv blue grass w/Ricky Skaggs, and now I think I luv Patty L. all of a sudden too! ha ha good music man.

  • Patty looking beautiful.

  • Good music and a good message.

  • Not Howard. It's Carmella Ramsey on the left.

  • Sure does look like Rebecca Lynn Howard on the left. Never seen her hair that dark, but that's my best guess.

  • That woman on the left is absolutely goregeous and just as talented.

  • check out hows playing bass; its Vince Gill

  • Uncle Putin Glad to see you haven't been kicked off. I love your music!

  • so who is the other lady? no mention.

  • "Freaking awesome!!!"

  • Can't get any better than this!!!!!

  • @TheKayLank You got that right!!!

  • Patty, Ricky and Vince Gill....Awesome///

  • at 0:38, the lady with brown hair is my aunt....Carmella Ramsey. She is amazing and I just saw her and thought I'd say that haha

  • As far as Christian music goes, I am generally inclined to the opinion that not much produced since the 9th cent. is worth anything. That being said, most Gospel Bluegrass type music like this goes into my exception to the rule column. By the way, if you want to hear about the most magnificent Christian hymn do a search on here for "Christos Aneste" or "Christos Voskrese."

  • I love these kind of music

  • Patty Loveless is the best, just the best.

  • I've watched this a bunch of times... never noticed Vince was on the bass.. cool!

  • @musiclover6791 holy Shizzle. He is

  • now that is a sweet sound

  • In regards to SweetCandygirl-----like a lot of people--she is probably not aware of the true origns of music such as this----it comes from the Applaachian regions of our country and is very much a part of the history of our nation and music. That she does not like it-- is a matter of taste--thankfully-there are plenty of young people who are playing music in the traditional styles--peforming and recording old songs such as this and creating new songs of their own--keeping this music alive.

  • For those who did not know---Patty Lovelace has now recorded two albums with songs that are more traditional/bluegrass---Mountain Soul Volumes I and II-----this song appeared on Volume I---this segment--along with Patty singing an awesome verson of "Pretty Polly" with Dr, Ralph Stanley that can be found elsewhere on YouTube--were recorded as I recall, at the original Ryman Auditorium in Nashville for a program recorded for PBS Television.

  • At least sweetcandygirl liked this song. Give her credit for that even tho she was a foul=mouthed young girl. There is hope! come back sweetcandygirl. Just please be polite. lol,

  • I didn't know Patty did Bluegrass. This combo is hard to beat! Who's the fiddler? Is she Rickey's wife, Sharon? Patty and I have something in common....we are both ham radio operators. She used to be KD4WUJ (I'm KB5BO) KC5E was my old call as well as K5HY.

  • @KC5E The one holding the fiddle and singing is Carmella Ramsey and she is not married to Ricky. The one playing fiddle is Deanie Richardson and she is not married to Ricky either! I would marry either of them. Both are very talented!

  • Ricky & Patty, a natural blegrass gospel combination.

  • Guess sweetcandygirl is gone back to JayZ or whatever. She's just a poor lil' confused girl, and she is really missing out on good music.

This is good stuff! Patty and Ricky and the gang are great! They can get by without a lot of postproduction and digital manipulation.!

  • Thanks for this post i love Patty and Ricky!

  • One of the best voices in music. Love Patty Loveless' talent.

  • Patty Loveless is one of the most beautiful women on the planet. Within and without.

  • you are correct.

  • sweetcandygirl666 obviously doesn't know the difference between Country and Bluegrass (It's like DAY & NIGHT) not related at all!

  • Your response speaks volumes about you.

  • wat you mean by that

  • I don't think you would understand. Good luck to you. I mean it!

  • @sweetcandygirl666

Since you're the only one using the F word and the only one talking about f'in a horse, we can only surmise you have experience regarding such. You can have different perspectives and such is welcome, but why not try doing it with some class and respect. If you're unable to speak your convictions without bringing up what events you have witnessed with horses, sometimes it's best to just be quiet. Go find a rap forum, somewhere better suited to your verbal rants.

  • I make you make your parents proud with a mouth like that.

  • Best version of this song I have ever heard.

  • I saw this on tv years ago, great post!!! Can you post the video of Rawhide from the end?

  • sweet as fresh honey

  • Greatness!

  • This performance was from a public TV fundraiser. I think it was a buffalo station.I have the whole thing on home recorded vhs from the vcr. I'm glad to find it on you tube. I'm going to search for more performances.Ricky Skaggs was the MC,Ans yes Vince Gill did sing ...lol...good one from ctjim 1025.....Patty Loveless sings pretty polly with Ralph Stanley...Allison Krauss with her whole band including Jerry Douglas were there and sang man of constant sorrow, made famous by Oh Brother + many more

  • Did anyone else notice that Vince Gill is playing the upright bass in this video? Great tune! What a combination of talent!

  • yep. They couldn't find him a singing part. lol.

  • i dont like country. but when my mom turned her on, i just went to my knees because she's just an amazing singer. her voice sounds so natual. unlike most women now

  • Did you really think this was "Country?"

  • @sweetcandygirl666 that's because it's bluegrass not country. :)

  • @sweetcandygirl666 My friend, this is not 'country.' It is Bluegrass.

  • @sweetcandygirl666 This is definitely Bluegrass gospel, TOTALLY different from Country!lol. I don't like country but I LOVE hard driving bluegrass!

  • Pumkineater 1938

Ricky, & Patty, an awesome combination.

  • I love her

  • Does the lovely CARMELLA RAMSEY do any singing on her own, and if she does, does she have any songs out?? Id love to hear her sing solo. I bet she would be fantastic as a singer. I love to hear PATTY LOVELESS SING, she's my all time favorite singer.

  • Patty and Ricky.......what a combo! Thanks for posting.

  • Gives me chills...!!!

  • Thanks for posting this.

  • This song " DANIEL PRAYED " sung by PATTY LOVELESS & RICKY SKAGGS is such a beautiful song and nice harmony, I could listen to it over and over all day long. I just love PATTY LOVELESS she is so talented, she could sing anything and it would be great.

  • anyone know what tv program or dvd this is from? i would love to get it if possible.

  • The studio version is on Patty's Mountain Soul album from 2001. It is with Ricky, but this live version is better. I hope someone has an answer for your DVD question because I would buy it in a second because It would also have "Pretty Polly" on it.

  • Next to Martina, Patty is my fav. Love Patty!!!

  • Patty you rock. Love the harmony.

  • Carmella is sooooo hot.

  • I love Patty!

  • Nice, UnclePutin!

  • Great.I grew up on this music as a Pentacostal though I no longer practice.I still love the harmony and the music but the intolerance has left me cold and bitter.I love Patty and Ricky.I have all his cd's and tapes.great rendition.

  • This is absolutely flawless. Three of the best voices.

  • Don't forget Carmella Ramsey -- a talented lady who seems to prefer to remain in the backround. These three are a joy to listen to - nice harmony!

  • This is FABULOUS!

  • There are quite a few copies of this on

You Tube but your sound quality is much better...in fact it's GREAT! This is a great song, a true story told by some great talent including not only Ricky Skaggs and Patti Loveless but look! That's Vince Gill on bass. It's good to know some big stars can love God and sing and play proudly about it!
