He broke the affidavit they signed in Kathmandu, and more sadly, he broke his gentlemen's agreement with Tenzing Norgay.

Tenzing wasn't "Hillary's sherpa." Tenzing was a full member of the climbing team, and did more on the expedition than any one man did, including Hillary.
