Second, in all these pics, the kid was either presumably on the dog only for a few seconds for the sake of a photo, or, in cases like the pic at 0:08 or 0:38, the dog could have easily carried the rider, which was a tiny kid, without any strain at all. Some big dogs can easily carry up to 50 pounds. Get your facts straight before ranting!

@ponygirlie12 the only reason a dog doesn't like you to sit on top of the dog is because of his position in a family. If you sit on it or stand above a dog (try to stand above your small dog (legs wide and the dog in the middle) and if they walk away they don't like to know the fact that they're lower then you and that your the boss. So it wouldn't be surprising if some of them would actually bite because they don't have a word to say so biting is in most cases the only option.
though dogs are not meant to be riden on, some breeds were originally burden dogs. as it says in the video, as long as the weight isn't more than 20 % it won't harm the dog. i do agree that it is a strange thing to do, but it's fun for the kids and the dogs, and it can give the dog something else to do than normal walking, which a lot of dogs will like

All the breeds listed in the video are strong breeds but are also prone to leg and joint disorders because their bodies are heavy enough as it is. Horses are for riding, they have strong backs. Dogs are loving companions that have no right to be ridden! Come on...are you really that dumb? If dogs were made to be ridden, they would have been made much MUCH bigger such as the size of a cow/horse. If you push, with your hand, on a dogs back, it will bend with barely any pressure. If you press on a horse/cow with your hand, it will bend slightly, if any at all. If you look at the structure of a dog, it is nothing in common with a horse/cow.
If you want to have working dog that the kids can have fun with and NOT damage the dogs spine look into dog carting. Its the same idea as driving a horse just with a dog. Not like dog sledding because you use one dog or two and have reins and a little cart with shafts and a harness just like a horse. Large dogs can pull 2 kids or one adult very easily in a blanced cart. Walking, trotting even running!

You guys just dont understand, do you? First of all, as the desc said, IT'S A JOKE. God, people. No need to go nuts over a picture in a YT video. Second, in all these pics, the kid was either presumably on the dog only for a few seconds for the sake of a photo, or, in cases like the pic at 0:08 or 0:38, the dog could have easily carried the rider, which was a tiny kid, without any strain at all. Some big dogs can easily carry up to 50 pounds. Get your facts straight before ranting!

@ponygirlie12 the only reason a dog doesn't like you to sit on top of the dog is because of his position in a family. If you sit on it or stand above a dog (try to stand above your small dog (legs wide and the dog in the middle) and if they walk away they don't like to know the fact that they're lower then you and that your the boss. So it wouldn't be surprising if some of them would actually bite because they don't have a word to say so biting is in most cases the only option.

though dogs are not meant to be riden on, some breeds were originally burden dogs. as it says in the video, as long as the weight isn't more than 20 % it won't harm the dog. i do agree that it is a strange thing to do, but it's fun for the kids and the dogs, and it can give the dog something else to do than normal walking, which a lot of dogs will like

@rathmiron Clearly you know fuck all about dogs. Burden dogs, yes. They used to pull carts which were secured with a harness around the dog's shoulders, NOT on their back. All the breeds listed in the video are strong breeds but are also prone to leg and joint disorders because their bodies are heavy enough as it is. It is NOT fun for the dog, a lot of dogs WON'T like it. I don't care if this is a joke, the fact that people post pictures of this is appalling.

yeah, nothing like breaking a wild animal and snapping its back making it carry a person too lazy to push themselves somewhere. its not a sport, its an atrocity. horses can carry a human easily, but do they want to? does a horse want to be horseshoed and forced to dance and run and jump just to entertain people? they were fine in the wild when people didnt disturb them

Horses are for riding, they have strong backs. Dogs are loving companions that have no right to be ridden! Come on...are you really that dumb? If dogs were made to be ridden, they would have been made much MUCH bigger such as the size of a cow/horse. If you push, with your hand, on a dogs back, it will bend with barely any pressure. If you press on a horse/cow with your hand, it will bend slightly, if any at all. If you look at the structure of a dog, it is nothing in common with a horse/cow.

If you want to have working dog that the kids can have fun with and NOT damage the dogs spine look into dog carting. Its the same idea as driving a horse just with a dog. Not like dog sledding because you use one dog or two and have reins and a little cart with shafts and a harness just like a horse. Large dogs can pull 2 kids or one adult very easily in a blanced cart. Walking, trotting even running!
