  • @JayEm86, and renascencewomen PEACE BE STILL!!!!!!

  • Fantastic gospel version! But I count SIX (6), not five! Oh well, they're blind anyway...

  • @SensitiveScot, you're as bad as my uncle who at a Blind Boys of Mississippi concert said "I've never seen them before. I don't think they've seen me before, either."

  • @JayEm86 y'all aint right. lmao

  • @JayEm86 looks like 5 blind boys, with one who can see. just doing the math.

  • I'm 25 years old but sometimes I feel like I should have been part of this Generation - 50's and 60's. I connect with the spirits of the singers from that time. They just absolutely sang their asses off and it's just so overwhelming! Thumbs way up in the air on this video! AMEN AND GOD BLESS.

  • @SunAriesMoonCancer You connect because its in you so let it out and share it no matter what your peers say to you let them know the gospel ! lay it down my brother

  • I was raised by my grandmother in early sixties back in Shreveport, La. She religiously listen to this type of gospel music blasting through the AM waves of radio station KCIJ. I still remember the DJ...Jimmy Castor...The Quartet gospel groups was very popular back then. Call me old fashion, but I love to hear their sweet sounds, I could feel what they were singing about, not that I don't feel what a vast majority of the gospel singers are singing about today...AAh This takes me back...

  • uplifting

  • was roscoe robinson ever one of the five blind boys? iknow he wasnt blind but iwas tolhe was once a member.

  • @57dogsbody Roscoe Robinson sung with The Mississippi Blind Boys. He replaced the great Archie Brownlee. There is a video on here with him telling his story and then doing a beautiful rendition of I'm Gonna Leave You In The Hands Of The Lord. I believe he is backed by The Sensational Nightingales and Joe Ligon even jumps in to lead a little bit. It's great.

  • I love this song, just imagine if they were recording with the recording equiptment we have today? if they sound that good with what they had back then the so called artist of Today will stand no chance...thanks for this song

  • Now that is harmony at it's best!!

  • This takes me back to when I was a child and Mama would play gospel music every morning, getting ready for school, church and on Saturday's to clean the house. It still stirs my spirit and my soul. Thanks

  • THIS IS THE BEST VERSION OF THOSE SO VERY MANY ...HARD TO HOLD BACK THE TEARS

  • I wish the group would remake this song.

  • An OUTSTANDING version of the gospel classic! Saw this group in Auburn, Ala. in 1993 and they were still a powerhouse. Clarence Fountain was wonderful. Sad that he and the group split up a few years ago.

  • You got something here son ! This is vintage Blindboy gospel. Church wrecking, Sunday Evening Dinner on the Grounds Gospel here. Clarence displaying only a small part of his vocal range and The Blindboys bearing him up with a tone and response that what was second to none. When these boys start to sing nobody asked what time is it. The clock is thrown out of the window as the Blindboys hold sway and show us the way, Sing boys......believe I will listen to this one again and again and again !

  • SHO NUFF.

  • @miltmonkey Talk, sir!

  • who wrote this song?Fantastic.I love it.

  • It is unknown who wrote this song.

  • I think Alex Bradford wrote this song.

  • The credit to this song is usually credited as "Traditional", but Kenneth Morris was the first to publish this arrangement that we all know, but he didn't write it entirely. He heard the song sung by a singer named William Hurse, and arranged it and added more verses. Morris published it and the song became a big hit in the following months.
