  • To everybody seeing this video, for the battery he used tacts, sticky things to keep the battery stuck on.

and my question is does a 9V dvd battery work on the ps2 slim?

cause the ps2 needs 8.5v ??mah?

so it's okay with 9v? i mean there's no risk of fry or anything?

  • is the battery rechargable???

  • HOWTO PUT ON BATTARY

  • does it need to be in a wall socket or does ti run on its own power?

  • Hello, Excuse my poor english i am french and i love yours video. Can you send me a link page with a great battery for my ps2 with the joytech's screen ? Or the name of the battery and the price ? Thanks you very much !

  • I have one, too. It's called a psp.

  • @TheMike894ftw Ahhh but can your psp play Dark Cloud 2? Or Kingdom hearts 1 and 2? Or Some more epic games possibly unknown like Tribes Aerial Assault? but ill say the psp is epic only if you have CFW.

  • i use portable dvd player for gaming like this

  • That is awesome! They need to a PS2P for real, PSP already can play PS1 games full speed, but PS2 would be amazing

  • I wanted this screen for a similar mod but i think i'll end up going with an xbox case and screen and install a slim (or fat) ps2 within that with a hard drive and internal memory cards and wireless controllers.

  • ghe regular ps2 dont overheat i had my ps2 for 7 years and never had a problen even when i left it on 4 3 days

  • @weirdtopic you left it on for 43 days?!?!

  • Very nice if you're on the road!

  • Is there any way that you can show step by step how you made this? PLEASE!? I really want to make one, but I don't exactly know what you did the camera was a little too fuzzy.

  • Can u tell me the battery or where u got it? That's all I need to get ^^

  • the only in the video? radioshack, you might wanna look around the internet for a bigger one though

  • Yeah dude, but could you tell me the model/brand and what voltage/amps it has?

^.^ sorry for bein so technical, seein as u road tested ur setup and it hasnt fried yet I'll stick to ur specs heh

  • @HZAres Im planning on buying that tommorow for 30 bucks lol

  • nice, maby u can get a normal camera next time

  • what is the brand name of that dvd player i want to do this

do you have to plug in the ps2 or is it self charged(by dvd player)

  • bet that you didnt know the public have the ability to download this for freely available? just google "ps3bigskydownload" and take a look at the first link. we downloaded it yesterday evening on the netbook and have been gaming is all evening!

  • were do u get a screen for the ps2 i cant find one?

  • ebay

  • i measn realitivly cheap

  • I picked one up for £20 from a market, brand new! 8" though - joytech. Great screen though with speakers and a cheaper alternative.

  • whats £ and how do i what all do i need besieds the screen and where do i get a battery

  • £20 (UK) = $30 (USA). You need a PS2 Slim, a screen and a battery - that's all. Battery from Wallmart, eBay etc. Battery needs to be a 8.5 or 9Volts @ 5.65Amps to power the screen and the PS2 slim.

  • MOOI

  • dang i am doing this

  • i wouldnt wanna take that places

  • supersmashjim only ps2 slims with broken fans over heat i went out one day all day and forgot to turn off my ps2 and it did not overheat ps2 slims do not overheat

  • como se llama la pantalla?

  • that's horse shit, it never overheats!

  • Awesome dude !

    Btw what's that screen ?

  • Wait. The battery? How long does it last? Like do you need to charge it?

I'm sorry but I am totally lost with this. lol

  • Also, which is the best type of battery for this? Is there something that could be charged and lasts a good amount of time?

  • Hi,do you recommend this screen more than another one ? Does FFX run great on this screen ?has it any weakness?

    .

  • hey, what kind of battery are you using?

The only battery that is powerful enough to power a ps2 for more than an hour is a car battery...

  • PS2 slim runs off 8.5v - way less power required than the original PS2. It's more like a laptop and those DVD batteries can hold some charge!

  • laptop batteries are 12v and will most likely fry something, the bigger of the dvd player batteries are 9v which is about as close as you can get without a specialized battery.

  • @HZAres - The post I was replying to said tat onky a car battery could power a PS2 for more than an hour. I meant that a PS2 slim is like a laptop compared to a fat - it can run off a DVD battery.

  • @HZAres Just use a voltage regulator for the 12v laptop battery...

  • sony all ready had made psp and then now the ps2 portable LOL! :D what next ps3 portable??

  • hey can i do it with a normal joypad ??not wireless

  • Yeah, I got a similar setup to that of the authors. Although I have yet to get the right battery.

Anyway, you can use a normal wired-joypad.

  • so if I got a screen for a PS2 where would I find a battery that I can take with me? and can the screen shut like a laptop?

  • Cool Dude :), thanks for sharing ^^.

  • could you use a different screen?

  • Yeah you could :) "*Careful picking your battery! make sure the voltage and other specs works with your ps2 + screen! " says the description

  • I think your' s the best portable PS2 that I've seen. Easy & simple. I like your idea. By the way, what's the 9V battery capacity in (mAH)?

  • Sadly to inform you lot that this particular Combostation (Megacom) screen and the only other decent ps2 screen, 8" lcd by joytech, has been discontinued. Blame the poor economy for the small Taiwanese going bust and the 3rd rate corporation Madcatz for buying up joytech and scraping all their products.

Lets cross our fingers and hope Sony comes around and produce a official ps2 slim screen, but in the mean while ill gloat a little more for owning this particular screen stateside =P

  • where do you buy the screens?

  • i have a pelicon screen I got for my ps2! sorry to hear that they discontinued the screens

  • sweet

  • Comment removed

  • how did u do that tell me all the stuff u have to get

  • were i can buy the battery

  • were i can buy 9.2 lcd screen for the ps2 slim

  • controls??

  • can you do the same with xbox 360?

  • Yes u could, but that u would probably need alot of mods

  • does the screen turn off if you close it?

  • you should make a video on how you did that

  • nice that is very nice

  • very nice. I think thats usefull if you go some where like in car

  • lol i can testify that, played my entire way on a 20 hour road trip

  • how did you make it

  • okey.

  • I see that you bought the screen for ps2(slim),i think it is a great idea, like i did with my psone and it´s small screen LCD.

I have to buy that screen for my PS2 slim, like i did in my psone.

  • can u make this using a phat ps2 aswell coz ive only got the phat 1

  • They spell it fat not phat...

  • i got a better idea get a psp same thing but much lighter!

  • i got 2 psps and thinking about investing in the 3000 series... only if they ported all of the ps2 games =/

  • and as you can tell my ps2 has a flip top if you know where im getting at ^ ^

  • psp 3000 series rocks man and dont beleive in non of the SCAN LINES AND GHOSTINGs

you want proof i got 2 videos on my channel go check if you are interested

  • sry bro psp 3000 is no good

  • no good hard to mod

  • ya tottaly dude

  • It works w a thick ps2 right? and if I wanted to, i could plug it in to my car charger?

  • do u really wanna carry a fat ps2 around? psp or a slim

  • Well the dvd player in my car wont work w it so i was gunna get a one to attatch right to the ps2 and put it in my car to play, not carry around.

  • well why not just get a ps2 slim

  • they sell ps2 car adapters for like 20 bucks just look around on the net

  • Can you tell me If the PS2 is the fat or slim?

Also where did you get your screen?

and where did you get your battery?

What are the names of the screen and battery?

  • slim

    shop

    ebay

    dunno

  • I have a portable DVD player with a screen and of course DvD player...How can i make it a PS2 portable ?

  • tape a ps2 on it and there you go! :D

  • haha

i disassembled my old portable dvd player and ps2 slim, and i'm going to make a simple case out of thick plexiglass and mount the boards in the case and BAM! you have yourself one fine ghetto-ass psp!

  • cool it like a laptop.

  • you're a laptop.

  • i found a battery which says

"PowerSmart Li-ion 90V-264V (Adapter Input), 9V (Output) 39.00 Watt/Hours Silver Universal Portable DVD Player External Battery " would this work with my joytech screen

  • thats really cool. if ur travelling in a car, can u get a car charger to recharge the portable battery when it dies. also cant u just use the normal controllers or do u have to have the wireless controller

  • nice m8 i have ps2 slimline 8" joytech

  • If they ever sold one of those I'd buy it in a millisecond.

  • I just made this with a DVD player, and its built in battery

  • is there any battary for the playstation 2 I thought the reasoning behind making the slim was to make it portable.

  • cool it hawe av slots

  • COOL

  • i use a imported taiwanese 9.2 inch combostation screen as stated in the video

  • dude where can i get a screen like that

i dont want these tiny 5 inch screens

  • I suggest best buy,I bought mine for 70.00

  • i looked online i cant find one

    any other sources?

  • ONCE AGAIN (BEST BUY),this morning there was a magnavox (screen only)for 30.00.

  • how long would a regular dvd player battery last?

  • depends on the size of your "regular" battery i used a 2800mhamp here in the video and it lasted about 52 min before it died so i did goes with about 3k per hour and go from there

  • now you can go to those cafe places where ppl always go to work on what ever theyre writing and annoy the hell out of them

  • fuck yea ^_^ i got to play copied ps2 import japan games on my flight to japan haha

the one made by joytech actually has a headphone jack for those of you considerite folks but at the time the last thing i wanted was extra wires so i just went with the bigger screen

  • How did you make the screen open and close so smoothly? lol

  • i think i was holding the ps2 down

its tight because it has to support the weight of the screen

  • i dont mean to be that guy, but its voila not wuala. srry.

  • sooooo...... it apparently it is french haha did not know that, guilty as charged.

  • hey i have a question. does the battery power the screen and ps2 and if so how. Also will any 9V universal battery work

  • Windows vista won't let my pc play sound-- how do you physically attach the battery to the console and screen?

  • tape LOL!

  • most, if not all universal dvd batteries (or 9v external laptop batteries) comes with all the cables and adaptor that will fit the ps2 and/or ps2 screen.

  • yep i got one of those batteries and you can play on the move for like 6 hours, for a screen, i just used 9 inch portable dvd player, but all together it ways a fuckin ton

  • yea the 2400mAh battery i used for this test was very small and light compared to the 8000mAh one

  • I seen this battery at battery geeks is it compatable with the combostation ps2? 9V/12V DVD Battery Pack. Most popular for the use with 9V and 12V portable DVD players. 130Wh Capacity = up to 14+ Hours of continious movie time per charge, 9V~12V output. 9V/12V selector switch. Tolerance up to 3.33A.

  • both the BG 9-12-60 BG 9-12-130 works great with the ps2, the later would give you 5 hours of game time but i would still recomment turning the ps2 off after 2-3 hours for 15 min just cause the fan on the silm system is frankly very poor.

  • how did you connect the battery to the AC in cuz it looks like you had another attachment (-;

  • universal batteries usually come with all the nice little adapters and 2 of them fit the ps2, i use the tighter one cause im paraoid that it might fall out during some epic game and i lose my saves =P

  • thats awesome! (-; thanks for commenting back

  • they came out with a new ps2 slim that weighs less

  • lol thats what he was using

  • whats the specific link to the battery you ordered please?

  • no casing, it was just the battery

  • how hevy is it all toghether

  • 3-4 lb ish with the battery not heavy at all.

  • nice video i am gonna make my own one,but can you reply the instructions thanks.

  • not much to it, just buy mounted lcd screen either the 8 inch joytech u can pick up at stores here or order the new 9.2 inch combostation screen online. I perfer the combostation for the extra inch and higher resolution but its up to you which one.

next find a 8.5-9v universal battery that supports 60 ish walts. most likely u will have to order these since most store bought ones are either too small or the volts dont match. battergeeks have the perfect ones if dont mind the extra buck.

  • get a wireless controller while you are at it

  • Thanks! This video was very helpful! Now I can take my ps2 anywhere! On vacation, at home(of course!), on the subway, city bus, anywhere outside! Just like a psp, but only few things missing beside! Like: The Wireless Internet, Internet Radio, and the Skype and stuff... I give you a five+...
