domani sono 46...non credevo di arrivarci....nonostante tutto la fine e' solo rinviata...arrivederci Ian , Luca, Enny, Corrado, Lilly, e tutti voi che non ce l'avete fatta...
Listened to all the great power trios; rush cream etc...(know joy division is not really a 3 piece) and hooky, stephen and barney are up there with the best; they created some of the greatest music of the 20th century.
IAN 's lyrics are universal and personal, in one simple sentence, that is equally devastatingly profound, uplifting, esoteric and understood.
Simply.... there is no other poetry like it in the rock world.
up there with the beatles stones and other recognized greats.
@thundertower i'm afraid not, we genuinely like the music and the band for many reasons, i'm no hipster. i wish he hadn't topped himself and gone on to make more music with the rest of the band
JD were a live band first and foremost, in my opinion. They always sound better thrashing their tunes on a stage. That's not to take *anything* away from the studio work, of course.
strange you say that, I was beginnning to think they were overproduced, but it was prob due to the quailty of what was recording them, this les baines douche stuff is top notch
Great song, and it HAS to be listened to live. I really can't stand the studio version of this (on Closer) as all its energy and passion is missing. But on live versions such as this, the band deliver the song with such power and fury, it shakes me up.
It makes me wonder, who is Ian referring to? This person who he "put his trust in" and who has obviously let him down and destroyed his trust? Is he on about Deborah, or Annik? Or perhaps his idea of God? Such a terribly sad, resigned song.
in you,..,............

hipster crap, i think people only like this band because the singer died very young which gave the band that dark, mysterious hype.

@thundertower its not crap but you might have a point about peoples morbid curiosity
