No offence meant to any of the folk discussing the origins of this act as i believe both clowns mentioned are very talented. but the sweeping up the spotlight act was devided by Emmett Kelly I have no idea of the year but as he stopped performing with Ringling in 1956 I'd say he predates both

thats what i was meaning: this act is very old and lots of people have a version of it.

But it was funny somebody thought larible copied Laci. almost accused larible from stealing an idea from laci.

but Larible sure had a good look at popov becausethe last part is almost identicall!! And i'm also pretty sure Popov never saw Emmet Kelly. I dont think the spotlight think is older then E Kelly. remember the spotlight needs a shutter. that wasnt invented before !

He's just the best clown in the world, because he is really funny but never with bad humor. and he got a golden clown in 1996.

David Larible is one of the dearest gentlemen

wehave ever met. He took the time to spend time with our special needs child on more than one occasion while touring in Indiana and Ohio. To this day she refers to him as her "forever friend" A true humanitarian. Bless you David! Love always little Jennie

This act was copied. Laci Endresz is the clown at Blackpool Tower Circus. Perhaps one of the best clowns of modern day. Lots of clowns have copied his act and this is no different.

actually in this act theres nothing original: the broom thing is ages old: who was first no idea but not larible.

the spotlight thing afterwards is nicked from popov.
