  • yr a wonderful gardener

  • What a wonderful garden. Glad it brings you so much joy; that is what a garden should do. You have a great variety of veggies and herbs. Looks like a feast!

  • i think you should plant more hot peppers i have habanero, cayenne, tabasco, serano, and jalopeno peppers in my garden. im geting so many hot peppers i dont know what to do with them, should i dry them?

  • I no longer live there and never planted hot peppers, no way as I have digestive problems and ulcers - wouldn't even think of touching one but so glad you love and grow them. You can dry them and flake them or pickle them!

  • OUCH

  • mom always wanted a veggiegarden! I want one too... OMG I sound like my mom! Ohh well...great garden you got there! Im jealous!

  • my garden brings me alot of joy too. you should try sunflowers coz they are realy big and pretty =)

  • I don't have my own yard..but I would love to have a garden of my own. I'm thinking about a small, fresh summer garden..if it isn't too late to start :-)

  • What was that row of 3 spindly things? It looked like onions or something.

  • this is a really old video, i have an updated one now for this year... what are you referring to? spindly?

  • Those skinny things by the thyme. I guess my family only uses the world spindly.

  • okay so behind it was onions... and to the left was chives! : )

  • You're great! Thanks for sharing your passion for gardening and your backyard!

you inspire me to get our there in the dirt and grow health and well being as well as food! Thankyou. mwah.

    Hayley.

  • Can I call you Johnny Green-Thumb? :)

LOVELY garden! Your hard work shows.

  • did you have any luck with your corn and if you need any info i have been a long time farmer and gardener and can help

  • your voice is booming and kinda scary but very nice garden

  • What gives you the right to criticize my voice? I am happy I have a voice, you should be too. Not everyone does, not everyone can speak and some lose the ability to throat cancer. I think there are better things to focus on then my vocals. Peace to you and a change of attitude. XO

  • i wish you could send me your phone number so i could talk to you.

but thats probley not going to happen

so it was a nice comment not a rude one i assure you. by your comment it shows that you need a happy change in your life i was not mad at all im not criticizeing your voice just giving my thought like everyone is allowed to do.

sorry you took it wrong and your garden is very nice and its nice to see somone else that can get away from the tv unlike many people in this world.agnsryutookitwrg

  • I don't know you so I'm not sending out a phone number. I can say thank you for clarifying this... I mean honestly when I come to a comment saying my voice is scary I am going to take it as a negative comment and a negative mind leaving a comment on such an uplifting video supporting lifeforce.... so it's not that I need a happy change in life, it's your choice of words and a natural, logical reaction to them. Generally I would just delete it but I felt you had better intentions. Thank you. XO

  • the scary could have been left out but it is booming and that is a great trait r u growing anything this year

  • How kind of you. So this was from last year, I can't wait to show everyone my garden this year. It's double the size and I am growing more stuff than I can remember! I got a before shot and will get an after in a week or so. My corn did not do well. it shot up a few feet and then got fried from the sun and out shot popcorn all over! Ha, gotta find humor somehow. No, it was quite sad. I felt bad for my corn stalks so I am not growing any this year. I put celery in it's spot. What are you growing?

  • well i do both so about 500 acres of wheat

then im my garden about 60 tomato plantes and 10 and 10 of bellpeppers and jalapenos then onion cucumbers and squash and i have a farmers market of the corner

  • if you have any questions or concerns just ask i know a lot about a lot of this stuff and you corn probly needed a deeper bed and lots and lots of water belive it or not they love the sun just need lots of water.

  • Great video. Your garden is lovely. I love how sweetley you mention your momma. You're a good son! :-)

  • Thank you honey, this was last year ... oh this year is double the size! I will get footage soon... for my birthday Mom and I extended my garden space. It's so lovely right now. We recently planted my seedlings. Ps gotta love my Mom, she's my best friend! I have a video for her when I made her gifts from my garden in a basket - you can see it in my video search box "garden gifts for mom" Blessings to you!

  • "NO ITCH! HEY!" ^_^

  • wow, it's so cool that you have palm trees in your backyard...I've never seen one in person! (I guess that comes with living in the northeast...) :)

    <3

  • Next year you should do garden updates!

  • You have a lovely garden. My dad was an organic gardener when he had a backyard, and he was all about growing the tomatoes and chives and squash and we had a couple of peach trees, but they got eaten up by carpenter ants. Your garden brings me good memories. :)

  • Did you get corn yet? Did you get celery yet? Great looking garden!

  • Thank you! So the corn did not do well. It was too hot this summer and it got parched. It shot up a few good feet though! I loved watching it attempt to grow. As for the celery, it came in and is still in! It's that cute baby, thin, tall, elite looking stalk kind!

  • Omgosh, I want your garden SO bad. Lol, I jumped when you yelled "DON'T ITCH!" Haha, I totally wasn't expecting that, but that's the fun of spontanious moments. Although you do suffer through your eating, you know more about nutrition than most people, and I nod in adoration of your knowledge of such healthy eating habits. Everybody has challenges in life, and they take time to overcome. I think you're doing wonderful in educating the public through your recovery. People NEED to see this.

  • aw thank you so much! I have studied nutrition on my own and some in college. Nutrition education is vital, especially in cases of eating disorder recovery since nutritional stablization is crucial in treating eds! I have used my knowledge on nutrition to my full advantage.

  • where did you buy the cages you put in your tomatoes

  • You can get them at any garden store. They are an absolute must when growing tomatoes. OMG I look at this tiny garden in this video and now it's a monster lololol

  • How do you keep the pest and bugs off your plants??

  • I leave em!

  • i would be sitting in the backyard every day for hours! it's so pretty and peaceful!

  • OMG this garden is absolutely beautiful. Do you ever sell your extra produce at the farmers market? You have my dream garden, I can't wait to start my own someday.

  • I love your garden and backyard! YUMMY STRAWBERRIES! Greens look good to! You do have a lot of goodness growing. I love your personality.

  • What a beautiful garden! I'm new to gardening too and (as someone that deals with anxiety) it is true that you get a real sense of peace and satisfaction when you grow your own food...there's something very primative about it. Good luck in your recovery and good for you for finding an outlet that is helping to give you peace.

  • oh your a sweety pie!, i need to get myself a little vege garden too. you have the most beautiful heart! i wish we could be friends but i live in australia :( ,anyway u are too cute! kiss kiss cutie xxx

  • what a beautiful garden! i think it is wonderful you are putting so much care and attention into your vegetable patch. growing things can be so healing and good for the soul. last year i started planting flowers in my little front flowerbed. it wasn't much, but i had never gardened before. anyway, seeing the flowers grow and grow felt so nice. tending to the flowers also helped me reconnect with the earth and just feel good. :) make sure to post an update when things start to grow more!

  • oh my god can i come live with you? lol. backyard is beautiful :)

i wish i could garden in my dorm room.

  • okay-you have to tell us what your mom does for a living....

  • My Father designed and built their house. He worked hard for the money to do so. He passed away and left it to her. It's there house but now in her name. My Mom, she works 1 regular job and 2 side jobs plus pet care on occassion. She is a great example of an independent woman who works hard. She likes to spend extra money, that doesnt go to bills, on her house and traveling. It's what makes her happy.

  • Dang! You guys are rich as awll hell eh?

    LOL.

Enjoy it! Not everyone is as lucky.

  • No, actually we aren't. More wealthy than some but that is besides the point. Pride is not found in material items but hard work and earning things - whether they are material or not. I think the best thing earned is not found in money but in personal enrichment, esteem and confidence and of course LOVE ;) and bonds - family, friends, spirituality, animals, nature, gratitude... etc

  • Gardening is SO peaceful for me! I sing to mine too lol

  • I freakin love your garden. I am a gardening freak. You are so blessed Johnny! You have found such greatness from this new change in your life; the move! I am so happy for you. Gardening is such a positive and relaxing experience. I am in my garden daily! I love it...I am a beginner, but I have a pretty big flower garden. I will be starting up a fruit and veg. garden next season. I enjoy it so much and I am so happy for you that you have found the joy in it too!

  • your garden looks lovely!! yumm those strawberries look good!!

    damn thats a nice backyard!!

what does your mom do- i want her job haha

  • I can sense that your wonderful garden is a beautiful ballerina mirror of yourself, and your recovery - you'll both grow, flourish and nourish one another as the seasons change! Fantastic Johnny! And that's the first time I've ever seen lemons on a tree. Thanks for sharing. :)

  • It looks very calm there, the garden is definitely pretty. The colors are so vivid, it's beautiful.

  • What a beautiful yard, sweetie! <3

  • awsume!!

  • Wow how beautiful! Incredible, you should be proud of that gorgeous garden!! :) Everything looks yummy!

  • Beautiful garden-but no cilantro? :P

Beautiful yard as well. It looks so serene to just sit or lay there, well except for the heat issue. I was in Cali a few years ago so I felt that heat that you all get over there. :-O

Taking nature pics with my new (semi-new by now....) digi cam makes me happy. I love doing close-ups of flowers. I need to make a video soon of all those pictures. :-)

  • LOL no cilantro? you gotta be kidding me sweetie, i have 2 kinds of cilantro in there!!!

  • thank you ps i want pics of those flowers, please make a video, i love your creativity. ps. i have too many herbs in there to name off, seriously, it's noah's ark of herbs haha

  • Thank you for the compliment. :-D

I just picked out a song a little while ago. I'll try to start putting it together tonight or tomorrow.

Noah's Ark-lol I'm craving an arkload of salad right now. Going to get a Greek salad in a minute. mmmmm....

  • Wow, very beautiful! I LOVE THAT POOL! Its such a beautiful house - most homes that look expensive just look like the owner wanted everything and anything of value - your mom made it a very homey atmosphere! :)

  • Beautiful garden! :))

  • I agree, beautiful garden!
