oh... matt crofton won a race at charlotte speedway in May '08 (178th career starts)

Right then being a Brit i know nothing about Nascar.

What kind of speed are these vehicles doing?

As i havent got a clue!

Some of these accidents are bloody hard hits! Are there many fatalities a season? If not credit goes to the vehicle designers!

no the last person to die was dale earnhardt in 2001. But the big credit goes to nascar for test new safety innovations and using them with the cot, the head, and neckrestrates and 5 point harness.
