this is way overpowered! the engie does not stand a chance. The spy can just throw the sapper where the SG can not see him, when the SG is disabled he can easily kill the engie who is frantically looking for the sapper. Also the spy does not even need to get close to the buildings to destroy this, again giving him a huge heads up. The point of TF 2 is that not a single class is better than the other in every aspect.

I Thought of a balanced sapper , has a funnel on it -must be up to sentry entire time to use -First sucks up ammo, then breaks it by sucking up metal. -Takes longer -Only works on sentries EITHER: -altfire to dispense what you collected as ammo and metal drops OR -Somehow, 'fold' the sapper into a gun to shoot all the ammo you collected OR A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT IDEa -As long as you are up to the sentry holding shoot with sapper equipped, the sentry "changes colors" and shoots the other team.

it disables all buildings and make all spy lose their cloak and disguise if nearby the thrown sapper.recharge is 30 secs long.and you can only use it in servers WITH this mod :D

i found a multi player server that you can have these as an RMF meny and i did something cool whit it i throwde it at a dispenser( the engi whas dead) and this demoman whit the eyelender needed it becus he dident have much health so he charged at me and i took 1 step ahead and backstabed him :3

Nah that's not new weapon! I know server where you can do the same thing by: Changing to class Spy typing !r at spawn and chosing ability sapper throw, then take you sapper and perform taunt and he'll drop it. It also affects spies but destroying their cloak.

It gives special ability for all classes except scout. Its a sourcemod script.

The spy have only one RMF Ability which is this, the sapper throw.

Taunt to throw sapper.

Recharge Time: 30 Seconds

Cancels disguise of friendly spies and yourself when throwing.

Cloak is all used up when sapper is thrown.

Doesn't damage builds and can only hold one. rechargeable maybe or at least reloading allowed from ammo crates and resupply.

I love this idea. Even if it is a mod, I would love to see Valve do something like that for the Spy. He's slowly and slowly losing importance in the game. That new Sapper move might make him useful again. Dont get me wrong the Spy is still important, but now all these new weapons everyone has they dont really need him to sap sentries anymore. That's just a distraction now in my case. Please Valve use this as an idea. I'd at least make the sapper destroyable though. Maybe 1 hit wrench kills it?

This would not be over powered, its meant to assist attacking allies and give the spy more of a direct offensive option. You can use this to temporarily disable sentries from a distance and thus let your team destroy them. Its not op because the sapper doesnt destroy the senturies and it gives away your location. also its a bitch to aim correctly.

From what I can see, while the pros would RAPE with this, it's also

1)Got too short of an effect ( 2 seconds?) to make a diffirence if the rest of the team is there >.>

2)Would be a giveaway to who is the spy if and when thrown and seen

3)As mentioned, those not completely retarrded would DOMINATE with this little toy.

This case is only the same as normal sapping. Sometimes you can tell sometimes you cant tell.

With a few tweaks I think it would be a great weapon without being over powering.

@eath9009 Invalid. WIth sapping you are up there. In an engie next of 3 and someone near the dispenser healing, you are a fifth person. It takes a while to find out who the spy is if you're lucky.

THROWING something makes a visible signal farther off and makes you easier to pick off.

The trajectile from which the item flies is a good giveaway. It's another visual bust cue the spy wouldn't need.

@Gaz6231 no WAY this only disables for a few seconds WITH THE SAP CAUSING NO DAMAGE so ud have to be shooting/stabbing it to kill it before the sentry shot u (if u were gonna sap+stab/stab+sap) not to mention the long reload time = to bonk or something

besides only the sentry can harm you so you can take ur time to shoot or stab (stabbin buildngs make lots of ppl go WTF) and itd be a replacement for the konata (electro) sapper not a complement
