OK, my final comment is really superficial- but- My God, Iranians are so good looking!

Three scenes:

1) When he cries and says to his Father 'I thought you would never come.'

2) When he cries and tells the carpenter that no one loves him and he's trying to reach out and find God, but he can't feel anything.

3) But the scene that stands out- above all- is when he's falling into the river- and the look on his father's face- a look that says 'let him drown'- before he changes his mind and jumps in- that scene is simply, hands down, the best acting I have ever seen in my entire life.

I first watched this movie when I was 15. Even almost 13 years later, I remembered almost every detail- that is how good it is. What is remarkable is that I watched it in Farsi- without subtitles (and I don't know Farsi)- yet I understood, and was very moved by this movie. This is a testament to the direction and acting. This movie is a masterpiece.

A very touching story about a blind boy, full of love and will, who has lost his mother and his condition is a clear incovenience to his father. In his continuous search for God he experiences life moreso than those around him that can see, and always gives more than he receive

Majid Majidi films are so aesthetically made that it is a treat for your eyes. The way he has shown Iran's landscape in his movies, it seems as if it is the paradise on earth. Like his other films this film is also moving and emotional.
