  • me parece un gran aporte .......gracias a estudiar para el parcial arriba uptc......

  • Beautiful ... and it would be GREAT if subtitles or captions be added to show the name & basic characteristics of each specimen ...

  • protozoan= an individual that tozoans for money

  • Lets Go Play In The Pond Steve!!!

  • Check out the rapping teddybear:)

  • Which is the 13th criature please? I see one of them but I don´t know what is it

  • I'm currently taking a Zoology course, and I've become so enchanted with the microscopic world. :) This video is just lovely

  • These images could clearly pass as artwork in and of themselves. The plants & animals depicted here are absolutely beautiful! I wouldn't be surprised if they inspire glassblowers, pottery people & sculpters alike. Stunning! :)

  • I have an idea for video game designers:

Instead of having 3d travels through the typical settings (war zones, ice worlds, lava worlds, desert worlds, etc.) make the setting in a microscope world! Have a character shrunk down to a miniscule, microscopic size and have him navigate protozoa, algae, bacteria and microorganisms. It would be an awesome 50-hour adventure!!

Don't know if it's been done already, but it would be a great idea otherwise! Thumbs up if you agree!

  • At what magnification is the little translucent creature at 0:33 visible?

  • man, look at this micro creatures...! it's amazing...thumbs up!!!

  • I love the music. these stunning tiny creatures are indeed part of the cosmic dance. Praise the Creator.

  • beautiful..have you used polarizing filters to create these amagines ?

  • Such a mystical world that so oft goes unnoticed! Thanks for giving us a portal to see this marvelous creation...

  • How did you record what you see under the microscope? Did you have to buy an adapter? What's the brand, model, and how much did it set you back?

    Thanks!

  • are some of the first ones algae if they are in my class i had to do a project about vernal pools critters and yeah i would be thankful if the first 3 or 4 are algae :)

  • 1:17 rotifer!!

  • 0:30 water flea!

  • we r living in amazing world

  • Their symmetry leaves me in awe!

  • im really interested in microbiology ^_^

  • @majaglitter Same here! ^_^

  • excellent

  • just beautiful, how something so small can be so complex!in a way we are all microscopic in some way or another

  • man thats a perfect example of spirogyra...!!

  • 1. ? 2. spirogyra 3. gloeocystis 4. daphnia 5. anabaenopsis 6. cymbella 7. pediastrum

    8. pediastrum 9. zygonema 10. rotifer 11. astrionella 12. ameaba 13. ? 14. dinoflagellate 15. fragilaria 16. polyarthra 17. ? 18. ? 19. staurastrum 20. pediastrum 21. ceratium 22. cosmarium 23. cymbella 24. aphanozeminon

  • im making my own bacteria! =)

  • What lense that can zoom in that close? Is it X100? I want to know how to adjust to see it, how close the lense to the cover lid? thx

  • to see daphnia (the 5th image) might only need X100 because some of them are fairly big (compared to single celled things). Use a muslin net or a jam strainer to catch some in a pond.

You have to experiment to know how close to get the lense by moving the focus in and out really

  • great vid and music

  • aaa

  • love the Arabian dance music... haha

  • algae can help the world, maybe.

  • thanks for your interesting video, but it'd be more beutifull if you put the names of the algae on the page

  • 000how

    You're welcome!

  • Arabian dance.

  • Tchaicovsky nutcracker.

  • Thanks bro

  • I've seen clusters, as shown in

0:23, through my microscope. What are they? Are they cysts? Thanks.

  • Did you figure it out? I'm curious :3

  • It's a colony of Pandorina, an organism related to Volvox, but with just 8-1 cells

  • lol the spirogyra and the cladophoras were in my quiz today, basically every protozoa known

  • Beautiful

  • i thing i dont wat to drink that XD

  • Beautifull and amazing @ the same time :) :)

    Thumbs Up !!!

  • Love this music.. Who is it?

  • The music is from Ballet Suite - Petr Il'ic Cajkovskij...

    Ciao Thanks

  • Thanks :) Kind of sounds like some track from PS2 game version of Arthur and the Minimoys and know I know where the composer got his/her inspiration.

  • you canfind it as Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker ballet suite =)

  • @justbeef

    Brilliant mix! Thanks for sharing!

    Greetings! JJ

  • @Techne Tchaikovsky - Arabian dance

  • @AphelionSol The Nutcracker Ballet Suite is one of the best. And this song especially

  • TOLL gemacht !!!!!!

    Weiter so !!!!!

  • if you like this play spore

  • i done beat it! haha steve is the best

  • this is an oh baby moment

  • These artworks of nature were the reason for me to study biology.

  • while watching this

my tv played the exact same song

ಠ_ಠ am I going to die?

  • What was magnification?

  • We used magnifications between 40x and 1000x

  • Beautiful, thanks!

  • cool but what is that web shaped thing

  • What is that creature in 0.50? Once I saw something similar in microscope but i could not identify it

  • It's Pediastrum boryanum, a common, nonmotile green alga with flattened colonies of cells in an elaborate starlike pattern

  • r protists prokaryotic or eukaryotic?

  • The kingdom Protista is a group of eukaryotic, predominantly unicellular microscopic organisms. The protists comprise what have traditionally been called protozoa, algae, and lower fungi. Thanks for your comment!

  • I am a bio II student and this really helped me study my protists! thanks! :)

  • cool

  • amazing world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i have seen some pretty weird stuff when i was in 7th grade

  • fantastic!!!!!!!!

  • Beautiful highly magnified images, which are sharp even at such a high magnification!

  • Interesting, thanks for posting this.

  • Wonderful photos. I just wish the subjects were identified, since I don't know what I'm seeing.

  • LOL. :34 so cute!

  • This is GREAT. Thanks so much for puttting it on youtube.

  • Truly great microscopy. Tell us what magnifications of the chlorophill?

  • Bella, If it wasnt for the microbes we wouldnt be here.

  • I wish I could prepare my slides like these wonderful!

  • Excellent and very beautiful video. What microscope have you used? I would like to see those photos with more resolution. Bravo. Greetings, from Barcelona, Spain.

    Ramón García

  • this is nasty

  • You should see how many bacteria are normally crawling on your face! :-)

  • some of these little guys can take a big guy down. big isnt so strong after all.

  • I had no idea they could have morphologies that much different ! Nice work.

  • wow!!!

    incredibile!!!

  • Fantastic work, thanks.

  • We need to see them moving

  • This is really cool! I never want to stick my fingers in my mouth again! :)

  • The video is amazing, but trying to place that piece of music is driving me slightly batty. Please, would you ease my weary mind and tell me the composer and title of the piece?

  • Music from Ballet Suite - Petr Il'ic Cajkovskij...

    Ciao Thanks

  • Entrancing microvideography! Stunningly beautiful. Liked the music that you played with it, too.

  • Just amazing..

  • Very nice photography! What equipment do you use?

  • Thanks for the comment!... We used a Motic Biological Microscope BA300 with these features:

trinocular head Siedentopf type 30° inclined 360° rotating; CCIS EF Plan Achromat objectives 4X, 10X, 40X S, 100X S-Oil; focusable Abbe condenser N.A. 1.25 with iris diaphragm; Koehler illumination quartz halogen 6V/30W with intensity control; 45mm blue filter; C-Mount camera adapter 1X.

Photos were taken with the Olympus Camedia C-5060 5.1 MP Digital Camera.

  • how do you get the camera to attach to the scope?? I would love to record some stuff. Like the digestive fluid of a wood roach. Get to see the symbiotic bacteria break down the cellulose :)

  • We use a trinocular head with a C-Mount adapter to connect the camera to the microscope. There are also adapters that allows you to connect directly on the eyepiece (or ocular), but with a low quality of the images. Internet is a very good source to find what you need for your camera and your microscope model...
