You have an amazing talent, but I feel that in some places in this piece you are rushing and not putting feeling and emotion into Chopin's work. This particular piece deserves the strength and power that you give it, but it also needs some kind of expression in it, too, especially at 4:10. Please keep playing, we all know that you will be fabulous and the whole world will listen to you and say, "This boy has real talent."

Extroardinary talent, but he does not capture the magic this piece has to offer. Perhaps he will with time. For example at 6:11, this passage is probably the 2nd most important passage of the piece, as it sets up the most important, yet he tries to get through it as fast as he can, with absolutely no dynamics. It feels like he plays this piece at FF through the whole song. George will excel, but this isn't the piece to do it with.

I can't find words to describe what I've just experienced here! Some of the most astounding Chopin playing I have ever heard -- bar none. One expects pianism of this ilk from a Horowitz or a Rubinstein -- not from a young boy. Very nice george. It is very hard to interpret Chopin purely because he was a very moody man and as you can tell, his pieces reflect that. Great job of this piece. Chopins pieces are not truly meant for young people, however, you truly do a sensational job of interpreting this.

He never plays notes -- he always thinks in phrases.

In a few places I'd like to hear a little more restraint building up to the climaxes, but that will come in time.

George, what you need now is just to grow up. As you grow up, you will experience many different things in life. Death, happiness, luck, funny episodes of life, etc. Therefore, when you play these corresponding parts, you can feel the music. I am not saying that you played this scherzo badly. Presumably George Li will get EVEN better; you don't get as good as he already is without enjoying artistic growth. But your simple-minded psychobabble is way off base. Young people are very emotional and expressive------think of a passionate toddler having a tantrum for example! The trick is to not lose touch with emotions as you grow older. Li is already playing very expressively-----way more than mere notes and no doubt will continue to develop expressive control even without your "help"
