that baby has such a cute squeal. wait, is daddy wetting the umbilical stump? so im guessing no harm was done by that, cuz i been worried about bathing my baby when she is born, and about getting that stump wet
We were told it was fine, just dry it well (and really gently) after with a q-tip, and not to submerge baby. Some people put rubbing alcohol, but its not really needed.
i saw a video of a baby getting his first bath in the hospital, and he was just crying his little heart out while he was on his back, they flipped him to his tummy and it was like a switch being thrown...maybe your little one was like that too?
