  • Why did they put a billiards table in the kitchen?

  • wow HE almost made a great shot

  • let's get one thing straight... you call THIS a woman?

  • LOOK OUT CUE BALL

  • its supposed to be a good example? She had a bad position and she scratch in the corner. Very bad played...

  • hahahaha...

  • The main weakness of Allison and Karen between men would be the break. How many 6 packs do you see the women put together?

  • lol. men are just as bad if not way worse. i just got done watching a Duel/Bassovitch match and it was nothing but choke choke choke miss miss miss by both players. the table even had wide pockets too. terrible.

  • Do you remember where/when the match was?

Also, what's your definition of "wide" pocket?

  • I believe it was in a las vegas prob 2005. and a wide pocket is as you probably know one that is only single shimmed which these were.

actually fisher and core can beat men pretty consistently. core plays in many mens tournaments and frequently wins or places well. where are you getting your "facts" from? you say these things like they are for certain, but you're just making it up as you go.

  • I never knew Basavich to be very consistent in tournament play, and even Deuel has got to dog some every now and then, I guess.

I haven't used the word "fact" once, unlike you and many others in this comment section. I'm making generalizations based on my own experience, as are you.

Karen Corr does do quite well in many minor tournaments (e.g. those of the Joss NE). However, that hardly qualifies her as on the level with top US pros.

  • In a LONG race of 9-ball, winner break, a pro like Morris, Deuel, or Owen, if at all focused, would have to spot Corr or Fisher the seven (at least) to give the woman any chance.

If you honestly believe otherwise... I can only hope that one day you put your money against mine on the matter.

  • ha so true!

  • Lol, womens suck at billiards.

  • that was cruel !!

  • i would have done a bank into the bottom corner !!

  • Common guys, lets not be sexist about this.... pool is a equal game.......

  • Yeah women definitely aren't as good at pool as men, but there are some who can play. Karen and Allison can definitely compete with the men... they'd be only average among the men, but not horrible

  • Women suck at pool, snooker and billiards (compared to men.) That's just a fact, that's why a typical WPBA contract forbids women from playing men. So they don't look bad.

  • @pinkisntwell2 you havent seen any real women play if you think they suck

  • @pinkisntwell2 Wouldn't say they suck. They aren't as good. You kinda acknowledged this, but in general, they are good players. Just not against the best men.

  • LOL nationalman it amazes me more that you care about this so much you keep coming back here to check on the comments and post responses. nice life ya got there... lolol And before you say the same thing im only here again because it was emailed to me... Oh and btw, I'm sure I'd lay you to waste anyday. just stfu you hater a55hole and go learn some skills.

  • Sorry NationalMan, but you got your head so far up your a55 that lump in your throat is your nose. The top men players make just as many mistakes as the women. If anything many of the men make more becuase they act overconfident, and shoot too fast which gets them into trouble EVERY time. Most top men players would get their a55 kicked because the women can concentrate and take their time way better than most men players. Overall I think the women shoot better.

  • thats cause you dont know better. vivian villareal asked mike devino(pro in las vegas) for the SEVEN out AND the breaks when asked to play. thats how BIG the difference in level is. you're also wondering who is 'mike devino.' he's just a regular pro, not famous like bustamante or reyes either.

  • It amazes me that this many people really don`t know the difference in the skill level between men and women. I have to put the blame on ESPN, they make it sound like women are the best in the world and then people like wrprince and timlin believe it.

  • You're an idiot. There is not a difference in skill between women and men. There are simply more men playing (by a large margin), greatly upping the chance that the best player(s) will be male. For instance, how many people whose first names begin with 'Z' are professional pool players? Does this mean that a person whose name begins with 'Z' will be less talented? Of course not. He/she MAY be less skilled, but that's merely incidental. In short, it's a matter of probability, moron.

  • Women DO NOT play on the same level as the men. Just watch the men play when they come on ESPN and ESPN Classic. I'm not saying the women are total crap at the game but they just don't play as good as the men. to say there are more men playing than women and thats why the skill is equal is an extremely stupid thing to say. you dont no what your talking about. There are a lot of women that play on the women's tour & none of them can beat guys like Johnny Archer or Efren Reyes. Just shut up now!!

  • your a moron if you actually believe this shit. Take the top women player in the world and bet 10000 in a race to 100 playing 10ball and I bet lower level men pro's win. Putting them up against someone like shane van boeining they can probably get 30 or more game spot going to 100....

  • Obviously you've completely disregarded my post. I agree that the top women are much worse than the male pros. I just don't believe that it's because they're women. Rather, I believe it's because of the selection pool of women playing the game. A simple refresher course on statistics may change your mind about the reason that women's pool is at a lower standard.

  • @silentfilmstar13 actually there's a really big difference in men and women playing pool!. From what I saw sexy player's like cha and black widow are more exciting to watch, than the fat and hairy oldies like efren bata reyes ahaha.

  • wrprince, go into a pool hall and look for female players. Not too many, right?

The gender difference in the game's popularity at the amateur level translates into a gender difference in skill at the professional level.

  • The idiocy here is incredible. Pool is not a gender specific skill. The strength and skill required to play at the upper most levels can be achieved by men and women alike. Just because not nearly as many women play as men does it mean that the skills are gender specific. A. Fisher has the skill to beat any man on tour. Thats a fact. If you've ever watched her play she runs out just as well and better then most anyone else.

  • You don't understand, wrprince.

I can think of no reason a woman could not play pocket billiards as well as a man. However, not nearly as many women play pool as men (The ratio is at least five to one, probably more.).

So there are a great many women who are never even introduced to the game. There's just no way one can expect the same level of skill at the professional level, when that skill has to be drawn from a much smaller pool of amateur talent.

Do you see my point now?

  • Yes, A. Fisher (one of the best women) does have the skill to beat anybody on the men's tour. But she can hardly do it consistently.

Why do you think we have separate women's divisions in the US Open and World Championship? No woman in history could ever have made it past the first few rounds with the men. The bar is set far too high.

  • wow this is a serious accusation to make nationalman i understand that women can not break as hard as males but they possess the same skills and talent as the pro male players. i have seen games in which pro female pool players had run out games consistently

  • I`ve watched the sport for over 20 years. I`ve played the sport competitively. I know what i`m talking about. The men are just better than the women. Simple as that, but that doesn`t take anything away from the women. I still like watching them but I know from experience they can`t beat the men. They even tried in that IPT tour and they started getting knocked out consistently in the 1st round. They might might even win a match against a man but over a long period of time they can`t win.

  • at least there is SOMEONE here who knows what they are talking about. SEMI-pro male players would DESTROY the top ranked females.

  • I enjoy watching the women play. I think Jeanette Lee, Alison Fisher and Karen Coor are the best female players. But 'ANY' man on the men`s pro tour could give all of them a pretty big handicap and beat them.

  • uhhh...no, some of the women players can play as well as the men players...

  • Tim, you don`t know what youe`re talking about. None of them can beat the men. They might win a few games playing against men but over a long period of time they cannot win playing against the men. The men are just way more consistent than the ladies. In fact, they already tried to play against men on that IPT tour and they didn`t win any of the tournaments. This is not meant to disrespect the women, I love Jeanette Lee but she couldn`t beat 'any' guy on the men`s side. Its just the way it is.

  • I dun think u know what ur talking about, or maybe it's just that u didn't understand my comment, I'm not saying that the top women players can play as well as/beat the top men players (there's simply the natural physical difference in strength, and obviously, skills), but for u to say that ANY pro male players can beat ANY pro female players...that's just NOT true (not to mention the handicap part) lol

  • It is true, Tim. They can beat them & give them a handicap. And yes, 'any' man on the men`s side. The reason is because men can string games together (break & run out consistently), play better saftys and beter kick shots (u don`t even know what a 'kick shot' is) & their break is better. The women can make a lot of the same shots that the men can but not nearly as consistently. I`ve watched the men and women play for more than 20 years, thy r good but not on the same level as the men.

  • In fact, the women would have a hard time going into any pool hall in the country and beating the best male player in town but the men would crush the "best player in town".

  • Sigh..NationalMan, I guess ur so conceited that ur ignorant of the fact that a lot of men pros are "not that good" (as compared with other pros) and the fact is that, although the women players can't beat top men players, they're still ranked higher than some of the pro men players. And yes, I do know what a kick shot is, I've also played pool for a number of years..I may even know more about pool than you do, as a matter of fact.

  • jeannete lee challenged efren reyes to a race to 15 in the phillipines. score was efren: 15 jeannette: 3.

  • Whats the point in debating this with them? These people don`t even know who Efren Reyes is.

  • LMAO. don't celebrate just yet.

  • lmao

    best women pros EVER!!!

  • Not really. The other top women are much better than these 2 slobs.

  • LOL
