Dry sump is approximately $1800 US (TRD pan is a grand easy), the crank is $5k, pistons another few hundred, rods another few hundred, custom head is a few grand, the engine is worth 50-60k dollars US. Hasselgren builds them, as do a few other shops.

It depends what you want the car for really. 1/4 mile ive seen civics put down 12sec runs. as fro drifting i think the hatchi is a kick as OG car that goes back to the roots of drifting.

Had my 86 for 14 years now. I heard about the 4age and wanted one for previous corolla..then I learnt about the 86.. People I met were racing them at the Bathurst 1000 and they raved about them. I'm well over the drift thing so it's great to see some proper driving in the vids..

Yeah TRD Japan still makes/sells some stuff for it. Also HKS and TODA make alot of parts, among others.

Well you can buy NA kits from japanese companies that get you over 200 @ flywheel, but you'll need to do alot of work on the engine yourself to reach that high without a turbo.

I agree with deathwish; the "haciroku" is legendary. Besides your Civic is an FF. The AE86 is an FR. These amazing machines are very different. Master Tsuchiya and Ueo both endorse the hachiroku. Unless you are a clandestine D1 champion; your comment is not very useful (much like this response). I felt compelled to respond becuase I too am a fan of Honda. The EG6 with a b16b excellent machine for the touge. Yet, this style of driving is much different. Please specify next time...
