I used ubuntu to install it on the mac mini. Works perfectly. You can also run the Ubuntu linux live cd, doesn't install anything to test but you won't able to run this from the livecd. Let me know if you tips, or google it ;-)

Linux will run on just about any thing... from a vending machine to a super server amazing 123582358289 gig of ram machine. :) Any video card with openGL support will run beryl/compiz.
