  • This brings back great memories for me. Was 11 when this started. My friends and I used to play the parts and create our own storylines. Even riding our bikes in the neighborhood to mimic the spaceships.

  • For those of you crushing on the new BSG.....read the original book by Glen Larsen and Robert Thurston. The story mimics the 1978, but the characters aren't perfect. Apollo is a bit of an ass, Adama is a worn out, somewhat defeated soldier who wants to quit, Starbuck is quite the con artist, Boomer has authority issues, and Tigh is a hothead loyal only to Adama. The Galactica itself is more like the 2003 version...although it is described as large as a small planet. Sounds similar to both.

  • Loved this series... and sure thing, the music was the best... love it more than Star wars :)

  • TOS. The Original Series? I prefer it over the new, which was too nasty. besides i turned 20 in 1978, this is memories of a long dead youth

  • Loved by son as a child as it was with millions of others. This just soars - it has wings! Entrhralling sound. Thank you for this post.

  • Do you have LOVE LOVE LOVE, also from the original sountrack? I used to have it on cassette but have long since thrown it away?

  • @lepp4077th Watch my Galactica Playlist!

  • well after all that...id like to say...i love the music, thats for uploading it

  • Whether you're for TOS or the re-imagined versions, this 1978 score is still one of the top movie themes ever. It's elegant, it's majestic and it's memorable. To be honest, other than nice use of drums in the re-imagined version - I think it it was the theme for scar or destruction of New Caprica - I can't really remember much of the score for that show. But this one, the original BSG theme, that's unforgettable!

  • PART of the music I desire THE MOST is in this compilation starting at 5:00 and ending at 5:46. BUT the whole piece is missing and is not in the new one's you've uploaded, either. I'm sending you a message and a vid of the music I'm looking for. I have to say THANKS though, because you've allowed me to hear my second and third favorites wich would have been impossible without your hard work and uploads.... MANY THANKS and merry Christmas!

  • @Starbuckin i like 3:00 its sounds good lol

  • Man, I can't THANKYOU enough for this! Great compilation, been looking for this for YEARS! I'm gonna check your channel for all the complete originals!

  • The new, unimproved BSG lacks the soul and humanity of the original. Glen Larson chose to show how the best in humanity can come out during even the most desperate of situations. Moore chose to show the worst of humanity. There's no nobility in Moore's abomination, just violence and sex

  • @quacksacker

Clearly, had you watched the entire RDM version straight through, to its very end, you would never say that the best of humanity was not shown. Moore simply chose to be realistic about the storyline, and not escapist. This comes from a dyed in the wool original fan. I could not stop the tears in teh 3 hour finale of the RDM version. Without Larson, we would have never had RDMs version. However, RDM knew what he was doing and it lasted the test of time, and the human story.

  • @Walkingcedar2006 Well, one was optimistic, idealistic and fun, the other gritty, realistic and I would even say schizophrenic. It just depends on which you prefer and can relate to. Perhaps humanity is tired of the message and style of the earlier series, and prefers one they can understand and even relate to thansk to this messed up world we live in. I enjoyed the re-imagined series as a sci-fi show, though I like the feel and soul of TOS BSG better like a dear old friend.

  • Bombastic nonsense written to match the cash-in-on-Star Wars rip-off garbage of the 1970s.Ron Moore achieved the impossible with Bear McCreary by resurrecting the show (and its theme) into one of the greatest TV shows in history.

The original show was nauseatingly crap.

  • @Scumspawn2010

    Tre' gauche...tre' tre' gauche.

  • LOVE this version of the music. What's the best album to buy (and where) to get this original version (at least I think this is the original version. I don't like the newer scottish recording)

  • Tghe "new" Battlestar Galatica is nothing of the original. It's all about ratings and money. The sex and bullshit that is portrayed now completely moves from the original ideas and focus. They, in my opinion, have completely fucked this awesome master=piece from the 80's up. Of course, looking at where this country is headed it does'nt suprise me in the least. Thank gawd for DVD collections.

  • @Deputydog857 I cannot agree with you more, as i have seen the new BSG & even tho most people think its brilliant i think its a pile of shite compared to the original cause the CGI Cylons look crap in their animation in movement & they dont even talk like they do in the original, only the human looking cylons actually talk & cause they didnt put all that in the new BSG it pissed me off & i feel it spoiled it, Hell they didnt even keep to the awesome original BSG Soundtrack which sucked also!

  • @Predator01

Just how much of the new show did you watch? It was the story that was the main push, not the rehash of the same old 1970s escapism. Watch long enough, and you will see the old cylon fighters, and the old models. If you get the story, you understand the need for the changes. There needed to be depth to bsg, not shooting lazers, bombastic music, and escapism. The four seasons, 3 movies, and 3 web-series, Caprica, and the start of the new BSG Blood & Chrome would negate it as crap.

  • @Deputydog857 Wow, you are SO full of bullshit.

  • @Deputydog857

You really didn't watch the RDM Miniseries or Series carefully, did you? Had you seen the ending after 4 successful seasons, you would never call it bullshit. The sex was a moral play on exploiting human weakness for its own destruction. It was also about the ironic thought that love was the missing ingredient for the organic cylons to have children. You really didn't watch it carefully. Richard Hatch was truly incredible in the RDM version, as well. He originally resisted, too.

  • The updated BSG is so fukin gay. All bout pussy and personal shit, instead of what the original script was of "mankind".
