  • My god, I agreed with every point you made. But, why the hate for Dark Souls?

  • I have never heard of this game, but I must try it out. :)

  • @tyrionoutrider you should be a comedian

  • My new thing is playing every game on their hardest setting on my first playthrough no matter what.....

My god was this games gunfights and boss battles hard. But in a good way.

I was told the game wasn't that long either, but with the way I play, I was hacking every computer and reading every email, I like to soak it all in, slow and steady. Deus Ex is right up there with Skyrim for me as one of my favourite games in the passed couple of years. Amazing soundtrack too.

  • Anyone know the name of the song at the start of the video?

  • Whoa whoa whoa no need to drag MGS into this. That game had some of the best gameplay mechanics of any game, ever.

  • @tyrionoutrider HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

  • I wonder what most atlus games would be considered if they didn't have anime or Jpop.

  • Dude, I just bought this game based on your review. First time I've ever bought anything based on anyone's review. Most satisfying game I've played in five years.

  • Bought the game because of this review. Never regretted it one bit

  • @xRazorFistx In the Police station there are 2 officers discussing the movie RoboCop.

I think eidos was aware of the whole Robocop similiarities :)

  • Why do you lump in Half Life with Meatl Gear Solid either? They are two completely different types of games.

  • Digging the Onslaught shirt!!!

Also Deus Ex was the best game i played last year...

  • It's so true about the AI, I knocked down a couple of cardboard boxes and the guards got alarmed of that.

Thief 4 is in good hands now but exclude the boss fights.

  • Im really surprised you liked this game so much. It had cover shooting in it for crying out load. You don't get more mainstream than that. It was also too much of a stealth game. The playstyles weren't balanced enough. Like they are in Crysis for example, which isn't even an RPG.

  • @gilgamesh310

Yeah man, I was having the time of my life playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Then all of a sudden I accidentally came upon the cover-fire system.

My entire life was ruined from there onwards.

  • @AntiStupidity you poor soul. It's not just the cover shooting that's a problem. The fact that the game goes into third person any time Jenssen pushes himself against cover makes the stealth too easy. Im surprised he could like the stealth in the game so much considering he loves the Thief series, which has vastly superior stealth, more challenging with no consessions made.

  • So fucking true when you talked about the AI

  • I played Splinter Cell: Conviction back when it came out, and despite the "fun" I was having (even though that game wasn't worthy to lick Chaos Theory's ass) something was missing. xRazorFistx speaks the fucking truth folks, "for every 5 trillion Maddens, or shooters featuring Bald Space Marines... there might be a new stealth game." Deus Ex is probably the best stealth game since the 1st Assassin's Creed game, before that Blood Money and Deadly Shadows! Enjoy this game if you can Rageaholics...

  • Just got it yesterday for my pc and am pretty damn surprised at the quality. I haven't gotten Skyrim yet, as I just finished Morrowind and am playing through (Francesco's modded) Oblivion, but I'm surprised it didn't get GOTY with many pubs (not that it really matters or anything, just saying that I'm surprised).

  • Has this brilliant title even won a single Game of the Year award yet? Or has Skyrim hogged them all for being "the most well-written and depth-filled RPG ever"?

  • I want a new robocop game.

  • Like #200 and its well deserved.

  • What's the opening for this review

  • I just bought this today and I like it so far. I'm not very good at the stealth bits yet.

  • 5:27 So what you're saying is... Doing a stealth kill on a guard in Deus Ex, is like killing a shopkeeper in their basement in Oblivion? Good to know.

SIDE NOTE: FUCK the Imperial Guard!

  • @BaldSpaceMarine

    IT'S ALL OVER, LAW-BREAKER!

  • So what you're saying is... Food in Deus Ex, is like Lock picks in Oblivion? Good to know.

  • 3:00 What the fuck is your problem with Atlus? As far as I remeber, their last game didn't have anime, it had a big fuckin rock that crushed everything in site.

  • @unconsidered1 that would be "sight" you fucktard. Not 'site'.

  • Since you could choose an ending in the last part of game instead of being thrown at you on whatever path you choose in the game (like in bioshock 2) this game loose its epicness

  • And, of course, another epic review!

  • You made me even more excited with Thief 4. But, goddammit, no real news have come out since like 2008 or something like that. That is cruel.

I bet I'm gonna know about the game the way I did with Thief 3: 2004. Sighing around since 2000 (Thief 2). Looking Glass shutdown made it worse. Predict no more official Thief series (conforming myself with fan missions). Walking the video game section on the super market. Look left. FUCKING HEART ATTACK.

Anyway, it's high time we had some news.

  • I traded Deus Ex in for Dark Souls... One of the worst choices in my 19 years....

  • @YOFACE22

Why would you do that? Was there a gun to your head? Were there terrorists?

  • @xRazorFistx Mr. xRazorfistx... When I was trading games, I was thinking about a vagina... It was a vagina that I once knew... That vagina was Demon's Souls... It was by no means the greatest vagina; however, it was tasty. I wondered about it. I wondered how it changed and wanted to taste it again... But it changed for the worst... Namco ruined the vagina that I once knew (And tekken's also)... So for the sake of the vagina I once knew and respected, I must wish sweet death on Dark Souls...

  • @YOFACE22 Both are great games, so I dont see the problem :\

  • @YOFACE22 I love Dark Souls. =)

Guess not every gamer out there can handle a difficulty level above "drooling retard" though.

May I suggest some Wii titles for you? lol

  • @VoreTechz1985 i beat dark souls 3 times under level 60... may i suggest an aids invested cock for you to suck on in place of your mother's cunt? oh well, no worry. i believe you will be too busy wearing ring of fog and casting walk of tranquil so you can jack off to players with actually skill...

  • @YOFACE22 Level 60... Wow you are a beast... Can I get your autograph? You MUST be a MLG.

May I suggest repeating grade school or hooked on phonics?

  • @VoreTechz1985 So you would rather correct grammar than stop your habit of sucking on aids riddled cock? Also... you should not capitalize must within a sentence...

  • @YOFACE22 You do when you want it emphasized. If you are too dumb to understand that then maybe clicking on a mouse is a little advanced for you. Slow down there chief, you wouldn't want to hurt yourself without your helmet on. Please stop bringing up penis. I know it is obviously your favourite topic of choice since the word flashes up in every post you make, but you can at least try to hide in the closet incognito to avert our eyes from the painfully obvious homosexual banality you generate.

  • @VoreTechz1985 Hooked on monkeyphonics.

  • @VoreTechz1985 Also, do you mind not calling me a gamer... I've seen the likes of those who constantly call themselves gamers... "sniff"

  • @YOFACE22 If you can't come to terms with being called a "gamer" then maybe we should stop calling people that play on sports teams "players". Do the communities and the industry a favour and go grab an NES controller and hang yourself with it.

  • @VoreTechz1985 wait... is the NES not a video game system??

  • @YOFACE22 Of course it is, why wouldn't it be? It is called the Nintendo Entertainment System.

  • @YOFACE22 i put 379 hours on dark souls. 8 builds and the only game i played for three months straight

  • SephirothxJuggalo... Don't mind if I take that one for my next gamer tag, do you?

  • My fucking god I loved this game. This is the only game I have ever played that I enjoyed enough to beat FOUR times straight on the hardest difficulty. Razorfist, you are awesome as always. The only things I didn't like about this game were it isn't long enough, and the silencer looks really stupid on the combat rifle.

  • I fucking love that game to death. I was pissed when there were no melee weapons LIKE IN THE TWO OTHER GAMES, but I can say it's my second favorite game of all time behind Nier.

  • i felt like the game was taken from the past and then given a little modern touch to deliver a breathe of fresh air. I honestly thought that the game was going to be dumb down when the trailer was first released. good thing I was wrong. screw lame trailers.

  • 1:21 Otocan?

  • 8:15 Praising HR to get another Thief game.

  • @forrozalyn

Thief 4 is already in development. And it has been for 2 & 1/2 years.

  • @xRazorFistx Thief 4 is a new entry in your favorite series which you've been waiting on for 7+ years. No doubt you have high expectations. Try not to be disappointed.

  • @xRazorFistx by the same people no less. and if judging from Human Revolution's stealth elements THI4F is in good fucking hands.

  • @xRazorFistx Let's just call it Thief Forever.

  • I'd like to ask... Judging by the fact that you used a much less ugly dog for Half-Life, do you think that Half-Life is better than Metal Gear? Or are they equally shit to you? Personally, I love Half-Life and I get if you don't.

  • I thought he was gonna say the line "stay out of trouble!!" Hahahaha!!!

  • Is the Org Deus Ex worth buying

  • @kingmula2 ...The fuck do you think? It's one of the best FPRPGs ever. It still honestly holds up.

  • The reviews on GameFailers were as good as a television tuned to a dead channel...

  • razorfist were getting some DLC for it deus ex the missing link out in october u don't have to restart the campaign as its accessed through the main menu can't wait for it it gives you about 5 hours according to the company seems fucking awesome

  • Spot on review, I never ate food in the game never bought anything maxed out hack first thing and dropped everything stealth after first boss fight and What The Fuck on the last boss.

The conversations as in the interactive ones is where its strength really lied, the bar convo was amazing, I replayed it 4 times the differences were huge and outcomes from a cake walk to a complete clusterfuck.

The new thief game should be awesome.

  • it all makes sense, the boss fights were outsourced. jesus...........

  • Agreeing with the finishing moves. Me, myself, feeling in a mood for roleplay decide to go for an as-peacefull-as-possible playtrough.

And yes, while breaking the arms, noses, laryngeal prominence and balls of people before knocking them unconscious, is slightly less permanent than stuffing two blades trough their nipples, it's still slightly disturbing.

  • Gah! how did i miss this in my sub box!?

I knew you like this game Razorfist :) , i also think this one of my favorite Stealth/action games of 2011.

  • This was a great title. Even beat it without killing anybody (except bosses).

  • @TheUrsudude

Thief Gold's installer has problems with newer operating systems. You have to use the run command and type 'd:\setup -lgntforce' (Assuming D is the letter of your DVD/CD drive) Should install at that point. Depending on your rig, it might have some issues with freezing after that, but it's easily fixable. There's forums all over dedicated to getting the Thief games running.

  • @TheUrsudude

I reviewed the 360 version, but also played the first five or so hours of the PC and PS3 versions.

PC didn't have any lag that I noticed, but the PS3 version has some definite framerate issues as well as some ugly-ass shadows, compared to the other two versions.

  • Why do you dislike MGS?

  • waitwaitwait. so square published a game razorfist likes? THE WORLD IS ENDING

  • Hardcore

  • I was expecting this review after all it's your favorite game.

Now i know i know but can you do a review about warhamme spacemarine?

    Or maybe the Witcher 2?

  • I like how NTAS is in the suggestion bar for a Razorfist video, who openly hates most anime.

  • 8 people got arm swords slammed into their pancreas.

  • @BurningRaids Well ok then. ;)

  • Awesome work as usual, man. In-depth review with valid criticisms. I pre-ordered this game mainly due to the art direction but I'm very satisfied with the story and gameplay experience crafted by Eidos...They better understand that they have to make a Thief game now! I am surprised that you didn't have any choice words for Gamestop after that OnLive voucher fiasco...but, I guess it's better not to waste any energy on them. Keep up the awesome work.

  • @BurningRaids Um, excuse? "Say something your crowd can relate to"? Uh, WHAT THE FUCK?! How I see it, that just sounds like superficial double speak for, "You're not on par with everyone else's opinion!". As a so-called member of RazorFist's "crowd", I can respect and appreciate anyone's opinion's who presents them well. RazorFist DID in fact do an excellent job on stating his opinion. BurningRaids, you alone DON'T speak for the entirety of this so-called crowd.

  • There are no stealth kills, only stealthy non-lethal take downs. It's actually one of my biggest issues with the game. Why you can play the game any way you like, Eidos does an awful lot to steer you into the stealthy, hacking, non-lethal role.

The takedowns for instance. A non-lethal take down is easier to do (press as opposed to hold so you can spam it easier), silent (lethal can be heard a mile away), and on top of that provide more XP.

  • After playing this game for 20 minutes at a friend's house I want it bad. Sure this game has some problems, but that only means it's not perfect. I never realized how much I've missed a good Deus Ex game. Great review Razorfist. I loved the closing gag.

  • Keep up the awsomeness Razorfist.

P.s you should do more Vlogs.

  • dude definitely the best review ive seen of the game. seriously, no shit

  • @BurningRaids

Think harder? Halo 2? Deus Ex 2? Deadly Shadows? Uncharted? None of those are deeper, more well-crafted games than Human Revolution, IN MY OPINION. That's what reviews are for, Wittgenstein. It's not my job to jerk your opinions off for you. Moreover, I'm not the only person saying it's the best game they've played in a decade. The comments section of this video, for one, being proof of that.

  • @BurningRaids

It's not bias. It's my opinion. If you want me to coddle your personal tastes, you're subscribed to the wrong fuckin' channel.

  • @BurningRaids haha i laughed

  • You are the best video game reviewer, not just on youtube, but on the entire fucking net IMHO.

    Good fukin speed!

  • You always reviews games I could care less about.

  • Just finished DEUS X hr. I can say from my point of view that I did not enjoy this more than Witcher 2. I did give it a chance. Now Razorfist, please review the Witcher 2. I want to know what you think of it since you are my fave reviewer on youtube.

  • @BurningRaids

I wouldn't if I were you. It's widely considered one of the worst movie video games of all time.

  • that dude orbit991 doesnt know shit about games. he must not know about them. old games are better than games now.

  • Razorfist you deserve 1,000,000 thumbs up!!!

  • hey at least make fun of the costume design, its clearly square

  • @ddvs2012

How is the costume design 'Square'? It was done before EM was purchased by Square. And moreover, none of the outfits are asymmetrical... and the only women in the game who dress like whores... are whores.

That's the antithesis of Square costume design.

  • @xRazorFistx The merger happened 2 and a half years ago, plenty of time for a few mass memos. Just look at the reporter chick Eliza, you cant tell me thats not square. Ill give you that they reeled in the ridiculousness back from final fantasy levels, but the influence is there. And on top of that the character models and animations during conversation look like shit. I cant really put my finger on it but talking to malik just grated on me.

  • @ddvs2012

Actually, I can tell you Eliza isn't Square, because images of her were leaked in 2009, before Square had taken over. The big frilly collars? Those are Renaissance. And the Renaissance theme has been carried through production since the teaser trailer from way back in 2007.

  • @xRazorFistx well you my friend have a fucking steel trap if you can remember shit like that. have you seen the trenchcoats square is pushing ha

  • @ddvs2012

Yeah... here's hoping Eidos doesn't shoehorn some necklaces into the character designs so they can sell those pointless trinkets to obese nihongophilic clodplates at Virgin Animu Lolicon 2012 or some shit. I can only imagine what they'll sell when Thief 4 releases. Mechanical eyes? Your own personal steampunk security robot? I'd buy THAT for a dollar!

  • @xRazorFistx Aesthetic prosthetics? Fibreglass cock and balls? I didn't ask for this . . .

As long as man tits with legs have purchasing power they will be catered to

  • @xRazorFistx Are you A PC gamer, or use to ba a PC gamer?

  • Also Deus ex clothing line? Yea it happened.

  • @ddvs2012 The design is as clearly DE as possibile, its Renesance not SE, SE knows nothing about real art or past artstyles, the whole game was RENESANCE every costume, everything was that, no gayboys, no eyecandy pedofile feeding little girls.

  • @Darkernorakeln Renaissance even?

  • @ddvs2012 sorry my mistake in my language its that.

  • @ddvs2012 Square made those ugly "CGI cuscenes". No joking,

  • @Hidraga Doesn't surprise me, The trailer itself probably took 2 years leaving a fortnight for the rest of those fugly cutscenes

  • Grand theft auto 4 came out in the last decade

  • I didnt like it

  • Razorfist good shit but why didn't you talk about different ways to play I enjoyed social which basically was stealth.

  • Great review, I completely agree. Finally, a game that's true to it's roots.

Think I'll go start my second playthrough. This time I'll kill everything that can be killed and see how it impacts the story. Hopefully Sarif will mention my killing everyone in the city and piling them in front of his office as a sacrifice to my creator.

  • I'm looking for a game that makes you think.

Would you recommend this over LA Noire?

  • Already watched this review like 10 times, even forced my girlfriend to watch it. XD Best reviewer on youtube!

  • Any friend of the Westwood Blade Runner game is a friend of mine.

  • My love for razorfist knows no bounds. Dear god, why is he the only one who knows how the english language works? This man should be the poet laureate.

  • Great Review. Fucking Love this game. and I am Looking forward to the New Theif Game aslong as The say Crew Works on it that did DX:HR

  • Great review! Spot on with some problems I had, no food, forced to fight bosses despite being entirely updated to be a stealth character.

But all besides that this game really delivered on content. Very happy the game turned out this well made.

  • So, if I buy this, will it ruin the other games for me? After you confirmed how awesome it is it's piqued my interests.

  • It's a bit disappointing that they don't address what happens to hand fishing in the future. Or hillbillies for that matter :/

  • Speaking of Robocop will you do a review on the movie, the series, or the video games?

  • So Razorfist, what's ur opinion on Gamestop ripping open new Deus Ex game cases and stealing the free OnLine tickets?

  • Did you say TURD person shooter? *giggles* eheheh, that's funny !

  • P.s.: operation flashpoint 2 sucks rotten gouged eyes from a zombies skull ....that's my point

  • Also,I loved DX2...I'm a horrible monster because I didn't like the first one. Also, thief 3 was awesome...and I hate the "consolisation " (you heard me...it's not a typo) of games like Operation Flashpoint... goddammit! I'm so pissed

  • @xRazorfistx OMG gameFAILers...I wasn't there for like many years. Every review they putt up about an EA game,I pointed out their fallacy in logic. I think at one point I was almost banned there... and I think it was something related to EA's anus and them inserting their respective dicks in it that pissed them off when I criticized them. I've also voiced my opinion many times about their dick move against you and your videos . Hail razorfist !

  • Robocop the game, sweet!!! Im gonna go get it now XD

  • Time to turn $60 into awesome, and OH BOY will it be awesome.

  • I think it is safe to say that no one listens to Fucking Gametrailers no more because of the fact that they are run by a bunch of Hybrid Buffaloes and Jeff Kieley is still on my shit list for being an asshole. The fact that I have heard a lot of positive things about this game makes me want to go buy the first game and then this one. Great Review

  • @TheDistantman

Oh. The best part about the GameFailers review:

DX:Human Revolution got a lower score than Dragon Age 2.

Just pause and process that for a moment.

  • @xRazorFistx Fuckin EA -_-

  • @xRazorFistx ............. I say we March right up to Gametrailers headquarters and fucking start a riot lol. I know I had said that I liked COD 4 before But I think this calls for an airstrike. I will never make a COD reference to you again lol

  • @xRazorFistx well in the reviewers 40 points of iq everything that's not call of duty, features 500 tones of brown or came with a truck of cash courtesy of the publishing overlords, deserves no more than an average score

  • Comment removed

  • @xRazorFistx looooool no fucking way, i guess there is something really really wrong with those unmature idiots than.... i mean really? DA2? DA2 to DA1 is like Barbara Straisen to Natalie Portman...and DA1 is nothing compared to DE HR. Well this is another solid proof than.

  • @xRazorFistx I said this before, but I'll say this the 12,000th god damn time: "Review ratings are overrated!"

  • @xRazorFistx , as much as i enjoy your material i get the feeling that you put way too much attention to scores given by 'teh press'. people that are above the intellectual level of plankton don't give a single fuck about them, why should you?

  • @xRazorFistx i got 20 bucks and deus ex (the first) and invisible war are on steam together for 20 bucks is it worth buying?

  • @ohboyhey2k4

    Absolutely.

  • @xRazorFistx ok cool thanks man

  • 2:50 So ya dont like Bronies :D

  • whilst i agree that deus ex is a tremendous game i felt it should have been longer having watched the dev diary i was expecting to see more city hubs and watch them devlop and change with my actions, i didn't feel that was achieved. also i think the AI for the foot soldiers was good the boss AI i could easily exploit by going in a corner, which was helpful considering that if you try to build a hacking class early in the game you are fucked when you meet the fisrt boss.

  • Wow, I was right.

  • I'll be honest, the constant harping on Mass Effect is getting a bit old. We get it, you hate the franchise. But really.

  • Wait, you think Metal Gear Solid is bad? I kept thinking on my play through of this I wish I was playing Metal Gear instead. It's OK though.

  • @supradoom No.

  • @supradoom Seriously, just... No.

  • Having beaten the game once already, I have to take issue with the regenerating health system in this game. Why use that in this game?

Use Deus Ex/Fallout 3's bodily damage systems instead of the one from Gears of War.

  • similar.

  • As good as Human Revolution is, the thing it most succeeds in doing is proving just how Goddamn fucking amazing of a game the original Deus Ex actually is. HR is (most likely) going to easily be one of my top three games of 2011, if not number one overall. The original is without any question or hesitation one of my top three games EVER. Still, the last game I enjoyed playing this much was Borderlands back in '09.

  • well said Rage-y... but I have got to say that the "ugly" pre rendered cut-scene can be explained by the IndustrIes reputation that Montréal and Quebec in overall has to make Excellent Productions while staying at the Most cheap possible.

Per exemple the standard Bginning pay In the videogame industry in there is around 37'000$ and the rest of the world is around 90'000$. That's why sometime games from Montreal seems a little cheap while being all the while enjoyable....

    :3

  • Fuck yeah, Deus EX HR! You're absolutely right, they don't make them like this anymore. And I don't get the Half Life part. I'm pretty so none of the Half Life games ever had pre-rendered cut scenes or even an "on-rails" cut scene sequence. The story was always told in real time. Correct me if I'm wrong. If anything, I'd be pointing the finger at Squenix for the injection of those cut scenes. And those goddamn boss fights...But who cares. Two minor blemishes on an otherwise fantastic VIDEO GAME

  • Comment removed

  • Deus Ex Human Revolution, proof theres an actual fucking chance that games will still be made with fucking standards (REAL STANDARDS).

thank you sir and GOD FUCKING SPEED.

  • THANK YOU BASED ROBOCOP

Speaking of Detroit's icon, I think it would be awesome for your next movie review to put the disappointing Robocop sequels out to dry and if you are brave enough to muster it, Frank Miller's Robocop comic from Avatar Press. Frank Miller claims this miniseries is what the original script was before Hollywood had it put through the script doctors, but it's filled with horrendous dialogue, bad art and more pointless fanservice than Catherine

  • Yeah, gametrailers is a fucking joke journalistically speaking. They are only good for one thing, watching trailers and gameplay of various videogames. Anyway, looking forward to play this game as the 2 first Deus ex was masterpieces years ahead of its time. It's like the Thief series, or Sands of Time. Thief did stealth masterfully and Sands of Time did action adventure platforming just right. Also who the hell cares about graphics? Gameplay triumph graphics every single time, no exception.

  • lol, Gabe Newell

  • real gamers dont care much about graphics. they care about the game play and the story.

  • Theres actually an easter egg in the game of two people talking about the setup to robocop and saying it doesn't sound familar

  • Unless Skyrim can deliver, I'd say we have our Game of the Year 2011.

  • I love Atlus, but your cracks at them are pretty damn hilarious.

  • ive watched alot of youe videos and im glad your a real reviewer. you dont talk about graphics alot because yourtoo busy talking about the game like reviewers should and you dont say a game sucks just cause its "too hard". rock on razor fistp

  • Best game of the year review´d...now, what about second best game of the year, The Witcher 2?

  • your so epic XD

  • The visual art, the mechanic design was a masterpiece, simple because i can actually belive that thosse fema/police bots can be made, unlike anything that MGS ever offered...the detail given to the world is so deep it makes me wish some games learn from them..only problem i had was the bosses and the areas BEFORE the bosses wich was always conviniently EMPTY and VOD of any life, they were afraid that the game wont sell without some idiotic bossfight.

  • @Darkernorakeln

I agree. And I think it's very telling that Eidos Montréal never said one word about the boss fights before the game launched. They kind of knew it was a bad move on their part, I think.

  • @xRazorFistx And now they released info that they had to cut a lot of content, hmmm maybe the discspace they spent on these pointless anoyances should have been put to better use. Well Whatever i wont complain, this was really one of the best games i played in a looooooong time.
