Funny thing is I haven't even test ridden the M109R but for some reason I'm sure its the one for me.
I'm not old enough for a Rocket 3, it's too classic looking and I like the modern styling of the M109R (apart from their use of plastic on a few bits)
Also the V-Twin just does it for me, I love the sound.
had one for 18 months, got absolutely sick of it, tractor gearbox, too much plastic, very powerful motor but too linear, bloody heavy, but still a lot better than any harley. back on a litre sport bike now and enjoying my riding again.
No comparison. The M109r will destroy any HD ever built in performance. The other faactors are then crafting, comfort, reliability and they are personal.
@Travixius actually you said all advantages of a VROD when compared to M109R, lol. VROD has better crafting (you must be blind not to see the sloppy crafting of M190R) better comfort (M190R is too fat to be called comfy), reliability (give me a brake, the days of oil leaking HDs are over, suzuki didnt improve at all, its stills ring inside the engine), what is personal on plastic? BTW the M109R has the oddest gearing in cruiser class.
@MadIgor1 You misunderstood me, and should not speak about comfort because I am 6'5 and 260lb with knee tendonitis and sitting on almost any Harley for me is an ergonomic joke. As far as "M190R is too fat to be called comfy" you should speak for yourself. It is ideal for me and does not feel like I'm on a goddamn tricycle like when I ride a Harley. You must ride a Harley because it's typical of the irrational anger evoked in all Harley riders when someone doesn't agree that they are the best.
@Travixius you are 5cm taller and 10kg heavyer then me, so we are about same size. And yes the M109R is too fat and uncomfy especialy when you have long legs. Everything is in your way and ride over 200km is a PITA. You are right I ride FLHTC which is shorter but the legs angle is more comfy even with the lesser space of it. I was riding Suzuki Volusia for four years, so there is no bias against Suzuki. But the M109R has realy no comfort and has odd gearing. VTX1800 was much better.
Where was this bike when I bought a VTXc 1800 in '04? Was never a big 'Zukie fan but the lines on this thing are beautiful. But above all.. the 130 horse is a nice kick in the ass to go with it! VTX is rated at 89 stock.. and I thought THAT has balls for a 700lb bike. Nice metric dude!
I worked in a bike shop for 3years, and had the privelige of test riding a few of these brand new. Even my missus liked the look of it. We called it the 'Batman bike' coz of the front end/headlight look. Great responsive engine.
No poppin at all...which I was really worried about. Doesnt run rich either. I'll save up for the power commander..but in the meantime...does great burnouts..lol..check out the vid.
Just throwin my 2 cents in..I have a vtx 1800, installed Vance and Hines Bigsots pipes, and also installed a Hypercharger at the same time. Basically, letting more air in, and letting more air out. Didnt have to tune at all. Although I am sure a a chip would get more power. Its got plenty of power already.
dude, if you put a hypercharger on you need to install a power commander, mix will not be rite without one ,(popping on decel)etc: and it will run and sound a hellava lot better..
pipes make everyyhing better but you have to remap your f.i. or rejet your carbs depending on if it has a carb or f.i. .also you can just put pipes without jetting on an 800 and under if it has a carb
does it accelerate slower-does enginne loose power with these pipes then with stack ones? and is it bad for engine to use some costum pipes? If anyone knows something about i ask whould be greatfull. Thanks
I've heard different things. I have an M50, and with my bike if I get straight pipes it will mess up the fuel to air rati or some crap. Just buy an FI unit and you're good. I'll send you a website FULL of info!
That will outrun a VTX 1800?

if you want raw performance and no style just get a Barbarian
you can't squeeze a sound like that out of a rocket 3 unless you put speakers on it
