Also if anyone is mad at the chinese for "bridbing" our regulators your looking in the wrong direction. It is the job of the regulator to say no to this money and to protect the system. Again, when you have a monopoly, there is no other group to compare services with, lowering the drive to improve or even take care of, these services. This is magnified even more when new people are allowed to come in every 4 years and take a few hundered thousand so they can fuck you some more.

Again the lesson here is fuck government. We can afford to pay for private regulatory firms if we didn't have taxes. In turn when these people do a shitty job, we dont go there and use their services. We dont have this choice with government, it is a forced monopoly that destroys any reason for improvment as there is no other option that can be better. Go to your local DMV or court house, both huge money makers, and see how well they handle their business lol

Louis was excellent explaining this but it was done well before that. NPR did the story about this well before CK did (obviously). The crisis was broken down by publications like Atlantic Monthly, Economist, & several others before it reached critical mass. Frontline did the quintessential story on the cause of the collapse before the 08 elections. The only reason you didn't understand what was happening was you were too lazy to consume REAL news, not infotainment with yelling & finger pointing

This is Louis CK at his best. Maybe its not as funny as some of his other stuff about forgetting to turn on the dishwasher, but its advancing him as a comedian. This conversation is his year as number two. Again, not as funny, but if he cultivates this kind of thing, integrates it into his act and turns it into something as funny as his other stuff, he would become one of the comics with points like Bill Hicks and the great Carlin.

The politicians stand to gain from the crisis. It allows people like Peter Schiff to run against someone else who's percieved to fuck up. The more the people know about the crisis, the more we'd understand that it was caused by America's dependence on China to buy debt, the FEDERAL RESERVE and the Bush/Reagan administrations.

Nor should people think Obama is the solution as he has Bernanke & Geithner helping their banking buddies and he put mostly Republicans on his deficit commission. Republicans are wholly owned subsidiaries of corporations/billionaires, but Obama just plays weak foil to them, allowing them get 90% of any negotiation, then bragging about 10% he got.
