I bought this while it was on sale over the weekend and it is an amazing game. The gameplay is so good in this that it really doesn't even need the Lara Croft name on it. The two main characters could be a gun-toting midget with an eye-patch and his vending machine turned assault robot sidekick on the hunt for the man who stole their PBR and I'd still buy it.
I've really been wanting this game, but I don't have xbox live but I do have wifi and don't know how(thats why i don't lol) can any body give me some advice or tips on how i can get this or set it up?
I don't mind if game has some sexy fanservice, unless it distracted the game makers. It's not a good thing if they can't focus on making their game well.
I play games that are good & also fun to play. If there's some hot ladies in the game then that's only a + for me.

i think this guy is a tad biased towards Lara Croft, he hasn't played enough of them to really grasp what the Tomb Raider lifestyle feels like. personally I haven't played this game, I don't think i ever will.. it looks like a Halo Wars type of casual gaming. fuck that shit.
I am loving the game, but one thing I don't understand is: why the hell they didn't animated the characters mouths? Every time someone is talking, the camera goes behind them, so we don't see that their mouths aren't moving. Laziness too much?
Other than this, the game is great. We need more GAMES instead of the "cinematic experience" bullshit every developer is trying to do nowadays.

Just to clarify: I don't think every game should be just arcade fun like Lara Croft and the Guardian. But we need more of these; well made arcade games are very few nowadays.

I'm tired of games like Call of Duty and Medal of Honor trying to make gaming melodromatic and depressing; there's enough of that in the real world. Gaming is meant to be an escape; shooters like Black and Timesplitters 2 from last gen are what gaming is all about; fun.
Your stock music is so great, CGR guy :-P you begin to notice the giant balls theme even before finishing lvl 1 and it just gets more and more, haha! I am currently enjoying this game solo. I liked legends, disliked evertyhing between that and TR3, I'm glad to see this series is continued with this awesome game. I couldn't care less about the controls, as long i I get to raid tombs and be a crazy violent british high tech rich archeologist circus acrobat while doing so, T&A or not.
when I first got TR1 over a decade ago, I was expecting a TA game.. it wound up not being a TA game... though I wasn't disappointed. I am currently playing through TR again on the saturn, and I forgot how good this game actually is. Okay you dont get the awesome ledge flip or turning around under water but still awesome. I have tr2 on the ps1, I was thinking of getting 3 as well though now I am hearing it's shit maybe I will do some research first.

gameplay and controls have been the main point of the Tomb Raider games. T&A was used aside from the main games just for marketing waaay back then in early E3 days . The stigma stuck. Which is a shame because the games are really fantastic aside from her looks.
This is pretty much a game for the "true" gamer niche. You are doing yourself a disservice by not playing this game. If you're skeptical, try the free demo, you will see the uh.. light.

This ISN'T a tomb raider game, and doesn't proclaim to be. Using Lara is just a way to sell it, and it works. It's a good game, I'm enjoying it anyway. It's odd he doesn't mention the multiplayer ability which is the game's strongest point. I hope this hasn't been too much of a distraction whilst developing Tomb raider 9!
I don't like Mark's attitude towards Tomb Raider games. The latest TR games are awesome. Legend, Anniversary and Underworld are beautiful, well crafted games with great storyline.
I can thank this game for making me a Tomb Raider fan now. I would love to get the original Tomb Raider as well as the sequels to see how they compare to this. Not Angel of Darkness though, pure evil it is.
@FastTquick You're probably going to have a hard time adjusting to the classic Tomb Raiders if you're more of a fan of the modern ones. The controls are very rigid and Lara is about as agile as a tank.

i liked all the tomb raider games i must say that the one called angel of darkness was the hardest.. but this game doesnt look to good.. the camera angle is horrible.. and the graphics look like an old game for ps1

So you wanna know if a TR fan likes this game? I love it! In fact I think it's one of the best XBLA games I've ever played! It has nice graphics, awesome controls, fun puzzles, tons of challenges for re-playability and 10hrs+ long. Did I mention it's addicting? Buy it!
I'm a big TR fan. I've played them all and the first one was very innovative for the time. It's sad that people like you and most of the industry dismiss TR as nothing more than T&A games. You missed some good games, bad ones too, to be fair. In 96 Lara was paving the way for a new style of video game. The third person action adventure/puzzle game. It had Lara pushing blocks, pulling levers and stepping on floor panels to solve puzzles.Kratos wouldn't be doing that if it wasn't for the first TR.

BUT...Mark does make a good point. The games may have been good, but the reason Lara Croft was on the cover of so many video game magazines was, quite frankly, because of her chest.
It's kinda sad to see TR relegated to the same appeal as Dead or Alive. But that's the gaming industry for ya.

1. TR never was a TNA
2. Lara always solved puzzles (compared to the TR series LC and the gueardian's riddles are very silly)

The game is not bad at all. Specially new series game that is legend,anniversary,underworld all have beautiful graphics, gameplay and storyline.
I dont care about how much others criticize this game,it will remain my most favourite game ever.

I don't like Mark's attitude towards Tomb Raider games. The latest TR games are awesome. Legend, Anniversary and Underworld are beautiful, well crafted games with great storyline.

I can thank this game for making me a Tomb Raider fan now. I would love to get the original Tomb Raider as well as the sequels to see how they compare to this. Not Angel of Darkness though, pure evil it is.

@FastTquick You're probably going to have a hard time adjusting to the classic Tomb Raiders if you're more of a fan of the modern ones. The controls are very rigid and Lara is about as agile as a tank.

i liked all the tomb raider games i must say that the one called angel of darkness was the hardest.. but this game doesnt look to good.. the camera angle is horrible.. and the graphics look like an old game for ps1

i kinda think this approach to the TR games looks pretty good, i never really been a huge fan of the tomb raider games because of the stif feel of most of them, but guardian of light definitely interests me.

Ive been a tomb raider player for years,,and i think that the camera view show have been kept the way it was,,:(,,the graphics look sick and seems like it has an awsome story line,,but,,i think they should have kept it original,,it gives you more of a feel to the action,,,

So you wanna know if a TR fan likes this game? I love it! In fact I think it's one of the best XBLA games I've ever played! It has nice graphics, awesome controls, fun puzzles, tons of challenges for re-playability and 10hrs+ long. Did I mention it's addicting? Buy it!

I'm a big TR fan. I've played them all and the first one was very innovative for the time. It's sad that people like you and most of the industry dismiss TR as nothing more than T&A games. You missed some good games, bad ones too, to be fair. In 96 Lara was paving the way for a new style of video game. The third person action adventure/puzzle game. It had Lara pushing blocks, pulling levers and stepping on floor panels to solve puzzles.Kratos wouldn't be doing that if it wasn't for the first TR.

@RetroVGamer Well said, and I agree. TR was definitely a ground-breaker...Hell, it (alongside Resident Evil) were the first real killer aps for the PS1.
BUT...Mark does make a good point. The games may have been good, but the reason Lara Croft was on the cover of so many video game magazines was, quite frankly, because of her chest.
It's kinda sad to see TR relegated to the same appeal as Dead or Alive. But that's the gaming industry for ya.

I seriously LOL'd when Mark put the sexy music on again while he was using the flame thrower. Truly only on the Classic Game Room and that's why the show rules. I never really liked the old Tomb Raiders all that much, but this game looks pretty sweet.
