Oh no, I didn't think Itachi's plan was bad. His plan did broke Sasuke but I think Itachi had no choice. It was the best thing he could do to protect his brother. But yes Madara screwed it up..

Itachi just could have keep silence of his actions and continue his work in the Black Ops if he wanted to stay in the Uchiha's side. Nobody forced Itachi to change. It was his decision alone. And the sacrifice he made was his decision, too.

If he's angry about his brother's sacrifice and death, it's not Konoha's fault, only Third's, the advisors and Danzou.
