i am making something like this for school but does it matter how big the arm is? need help please mssg asap thanks, also how what are you using to tie up the string on the side, thanks again
@asiansmurf1 yes, the length of the swing arm is important. I uses small hoooks for the rubber band. There are complete instructions with dimensions on my website.
Hey, I built this catapult, and it's really cool. I was wondering if you could give me any advice on how to improve it so that it will shoot 8 meters. So far, the one I built only shoots around 3 meters.... I need to build a catapult using a rubber band for school. So, if you have any better catapults that shoots 8+ meters that's easy to make and uses a rubber band, please tell me. In any case, please give me advice on how to improve my catapult!
@summergirl26 congrats on the catapult. I do have a whole lot of stuff and ten different siege engines/catapults/trebuchets on my website. And tips and hints on how to make a catapult better. stormthecastle
HI! I have the perfect catapult for you. You make it from popsicle sticks (sometimes called craft sticks). You need ten sticks, a rubber band and masking tape. Nice little project that really fires! Its on my website. or google teeny tiny catapult. Takes a little longer than ten minutes to make but is pretty easy.
Most definitely can launch a tennis ball 15 to 30 feet. Just a matter of having a good strong rubber band or multiple rubber bands. The wooden structure of this catapult is very strong and can take a lot of force.
What kind of wood is this?
