The password you need is not necessarily his password, just the password of whoever is logged in. Create a new account, give it administrator privileges, log into it, do your work, then delete that account.

Make sure that when his computer boots up, it logs into his account automatically. You wont be able to switch from your new made account to his without his password, so just restart the computer and have itself log in.
