From what we know from archeology, the Romans did NOT crucify people through the palms of their hands. The Romans had 2 main ways, 1. tying the arms and 2. nails through the wrist. Archeologists have found bodies with have nails still stuck in the wrist bones. However, no archeologist has ever found a crucifixtion victim with woulds in the palms of the hand.
In all likelihood, EVERY accunt of stigmata is false, be it an unconscious fake or a deliberate attempt to decieve people.
I am a believer in the authenticity of the shroud. It shows nails through the wrists. Every account of crucifiction I have ever seen or read about says, "nails through the wrists" I have yet to find any example of nails through the hands. Another things is, that these stigmatas are almost always Catholic. I loathe the Catholic religion. To me it is 100% evil.
the assumption that the nails of christ went through the wrists were based on the belief that nails couldn't hold the body up any other way but this has since been revised. the body could be held with nails through the hands if the arms were tied, and romans did tie the arms often.

That first clip was a protestant not a catholic. I'm actually an atheist and I do not believe in the shroud nor stigmata.
