as being predator or meat eater, starfish is not a good atacker. starfish usually diet on the deads rather than living object. and its worse defense make it easy target for its predators like crab large fish and even octopus.
Actually, if they were giant, they would probably be much slower than they are now. I'm pretty sure their hydraulics would be harder to use. We could probably ignore them...
@NARFNra Thats not really strength. the starfish just exerts a constant pressure on the clam with its suction cups and water pressure. it basically tires out the clam
