  • simply beautiful tugs at the old heart strings nice one kathryn

  • @seonidh Anyway, what has you point got to do with the wonderful music that is played on the unique and beautiful English Northumbrian pipe by this wonderfully talented English person. Oh and by the way, just looked it up, Jimmy Allen was not a 'Romani'. He was an English traveller 'gypsy. So tell us who all these 'Romani's' who played these pipes were? Or are you just a 'celtic' nationalist who tries to denigrate anything English like you do on the other sites. Spotted eh....

  • The great Kathryn Tickell, world class musician, beautiful, evocative sensitive & highly skilled playing. Her music keeps evolving, I have all her CDs. Notice how she blends one tune into the next, at 2.41 on, then blasts off into some top notch intricacies with such energy & obvious enjoyment - GO SEE HER LIVE!

  • Been looking of this tune for over an hour (due to not knowing its name haha) Lovely sweet intro. Adding this one to my favourites.

The first time I heard the band was an album called "Signs" back in 93. Check it out, it's awesome! Kathryn has had many different line ups in her band. with various different instruments.

  • She is amazing.

  • Hi all.

No pressure but I'd like this played at my Dad's funeral on 6th Jan 2009.

Can anyone name the song or the CD?

  • Found it - it is Our Kate from the Debateable Lands CD.

  • Beautiful!

  • Yeah a lot of Romani families on the anglo border area of Northumberland used to play this instrument.

  • @seonidh Errrmmm.... One Romany person that we know of. Jimmy Allen. If you know of more please tell us.
