  • Do David Baerwald and David Ricketts still work together? I know Baerwald wrote for Sheryl Crow, didn't he?

  • @Nacho66 - I have many friends in Havertown, too. Great place! Lots of musicians there.

  • The last fourteen seconds. THAT'S Los Angeles. This is what we live here.

Ennui. Longing. Abstraction. That's us, pure. Stupid. Free. The future.

  • @Dannymusic1999...I don't know about the vocalist, but the guitar player is from Havertown which is just outside of Philadelphia. Great player and great album! He also plays on the first Toni Childs records. Those are great records, too.

  • Back when this first came out I played the cassette (yea remember those things) so much I wore it out and need to buy a new one. Thanks for posting.

  • Ordered Boomtown from barnes and knoble. I think I'll order the rest of Baerwalds solo stuff. I lived through the eigties and let me tell ya this song sums it up. they should collaborate again and put out another cd and re release boom town with it.

  • underrated.

  • Hey how come the best part of the song, the spoken part, is omitted?

    "The ambulance arrived too late/

I guess she didn't wanna wait."

  • @BassPlayerSusan Yeah, I miss that part in the video as well. It is such a simple and sad section of the song.

  • @BassPlayerSusan Who the fuck cares.. Just listen to the song and shut the fuck up

  • @samooskhka You don't like my comments, you don't have to read them. Now put your big boy pants on and grow up.

  • I've been looking for this song for years; it made a strong impression on me as a kid then. Thanks for making it available, so I could find it and who made it.

  • Reminds me of watching Miami Vice.

  • Thanks for the high-quality upload - Miss Christina drives a 944. Handsome Kevin got a little off track - 80s rule - This song rules - dark and cool

  • I first heard this on Miami Vice in the 80's as a teenager watching it with my dad. The lyrics are more relevant than ever now...Classic song

  • great song... and pretty good album too

  • Now this is a classic and I really wish they had stayed together.

  • I wish they would have done more music. Great vocals.

  • Great jewel no doubt about it! Thanks David & David

  • Nice.

  • Great "lost" tune. Even the 80s radio/satellite stations rarely play this one. For some reason I think about the TV show Miami Vice when I listen to this.

  • @templeofice I am fairly sure that it was featured on an episode of Miami Vice because I could swear that was where I first heard this song!

  • @templeofice The whole album "Boomtown" is fantastic.
