It means that he didn't search a tab for it. He listened the song over and over and tabbed this song note for note by himself. Searching for the right notes with the guitar on his lap. Takes quite some time, but tabs are not to be trusted anymore... most tabs anyway.

It's not impossible. Just find the first note, think of the most chords that have that note (or guess to the other notes like in this one). When you find the first chord the rest is easy as can be.
