  • 1:39 Awesome

  • I TOOK A VIRGIN MARY AXE TO HIS SWEET BABY JANE!

Lost my innocence to a no good girrrll...

...scratched my face with anvil hannnnds!

    - one of the best moments on the entire album.

  • best song indeed!!

  • Cee Lo Green's song has nothing on the Smashing Pumpkins' Fuck You.

  • "I'll never be the shine in your spit!"

    I miss the 90's :*(

  • "You cannot destroy the heart."

  • Don't get me wrong, I love this song, but what the fuck does 'coil my mouth 'round a bumblebee mouth' mean?

  • @blackerthanebony100 Well you'd be pissed off if you coiled your tongue 'round a bumblebee mouth! those things can bite!

  • i dont need your love to disconnect!

  • to run around kids in get go cars vaseline afterbirths and neon coughs gallaxies full of nobodies giving us the farewell run arounds. i took a virgin mary axe to his sweet baby jane lost my innocence to a no good girl scratch my face with anvil hands and coil my tongue around a bumbleebee mouth and i give it all back to you

  • Billy Corgan is so awesome. <3

I'm one of those fifteen-year girls who aren't delusional about shit male artists on the radio like Chris Brown or Kanye West, or go 'LOLZ OMGGZZ SO SEXIII!!!11ELEVEN"

  • @firedevotion WGASA

  • @Samonuh ?

  • @firedevotion Who Gives A Shit Anyway

  • @firedevotion It's a statement. In case you didn't know, I'm tired of whatever's on 99.5 recently.

I'm also not delusional like you.

So yeah, apparently you gave a shit about my comment. HERP DERP.

  • @firedevotion Jimmy Chamberlin owns this

  • @H4RM0N1C5 He is amazing at drumming, omg. Especially in the Siamese Dreams tracks!

  • @firedevotion and as much as people dislike that album, jimmy absolutely destroys on some of zeitgeists tracks.

  • @danielkay1994 That is one of the many reasons why I actually really liked Zeitgeist. The drumming is amazing, like in the tracks like Starz, Doomsday Clock and Tarantula!

  • @firedevotion

I love your comment actualy, ignore that asshole. I always knew there were girls out there that appreciated this!

  • every time I fell like breaking someones neck this song helps me work out the anger i love this song so much I think I might use it for a fighting video

  • Love this song!!!

  • Comment removed

  • one of my favorite songs

  • Yeah, best Pumpkins song ever IMO. Really goes in crazy directions. Most bands that would try this kinda song would end up with a mess. And the drums on this track are amazing.

  • Freakin' conflagration of a track

  • Holy shit, the Deums, man. :o

  • at first u think the tune is gonna be more punkish and then the off rythem and choice of notes turns it more abstract and harder and thats the part that is grunge and it sounds so sweet dontforget the suporting hardhitting drums this is epicccccc

  • The most brutal song on the album besides XYU. Always listened when I was angry. especially about a relationship

  • This whole song is like one roaring, bad ass heavy metal roller coaster. And that solo, dear God, that fucking solo at the end is orgasmic.

  • "Destroy the mind, destroy the body, but you cannot destroy the heart"

That shit literally keeps me going.

  • This song makes me feel like I can rip up trees and smash whole cities. RIP SP. Rock and roll will NEVER be the same.

  • Now this is what i call alternative rock with BALLS!Not the crap that they put the using the alternative label today...This is sacrilege!

  • billy corgan makes me happy.

  • the best song on the album is fuckin right

  • Comment removed

  • straight up 100% bad ass.

  • this is it....just cant trust anyone....so this is how i feel right fuckin now!!!!

  • @themusicmatterz under rated? its the greatest album of the 90s. what are you talking about?

  • fuuuck

  • This is one of billy corgans finest work. Art at its pinnacle.

  • I like the bit from 0:00 to 4:51. Does anyone else like that bit?

  • @ShaneMcD77

I love that bit, such an awesome part.

  • You're mistaken, It's you that's faking!!!

  • love this song!!! best album ever!

  • crazy ass guitar solo

  • My school needs to hear this song... they're just all completely spineless. Talking behind other's backs, and if they do complain, it's always over the fucking internet. God, you can definitely relate to Billy Corgan!

  • @earthboundpikmin I couldn't agree more with you.

  • How Many of you hate to type ' Fuck you Smashing Pumpkins ' just to listen to this great band

    SP Rule

    Scott Pilgrim Rules too

  • @mukmewx What?

  • @Dearhunter43 lol idk i was probably going to agree with you

  • @mukmewx Smashing Punkins rule

  • @Dearhunter43

I typed "an ode to no one".

But yes, I see what you mean. Nice observation. It made me laugh.

  • This was so about Courtney Love.

  • @sonofdrella09 That's very debatable. I reckon it's more about unenslaving yourself from someone you were emotionally enslaved to - Cobain shredded his head to clean fuck with lead shot because of that woman; Corgan wrote a song - maybe about her. Maybe. Or maybe he just used past experience of bad relationships to create one of the most impossibly amazing things to have your ears exposed to. I prefer the latter, because I've had a few bad relationships, but have never known Courtney Love... etc

  • That screaming guitar from 4:26 - 4:30 is plain orgasmic!

  • never coming back. never giving in. never be the shine in your spit.... oh fuckin yeah for real!

i used to listen to them in my youth while playing air warrior. this song says it all. never coming back, you can't bring me back, cuz i'm gonna give it all back to you.. bitches! yeah! bring it!

  • THERE ISNT NOTHING I WOULDNT DOOO......LOVE THIS SONG!

  • 3:43 to 3:49 the drumming is just orgasmic ! :O

  • @floppydisk35

Fuck that. That drummin might be paralysingly awesome but what really makes me shit myslf is Jimmy's drummin between 1:46 and 2:01. Never before has a drummer snuck such an aggressive, techincally involved groove into a simple song about lost love. Billy's lyrics sung over the top of it merely enhance one of the best sections of rhythm guitar, bass and drums ever recorded. Bring back the days when these boys were capable of such musical miracles...

  • @ShaneMcD77 you know something? fuck it all. every piece of this song's drumming is awesome.

  • Sex with heavy bass yessss

  • Yeahhhhhhhh!!!!!!

  • classic pumpkins

  • No one else could make a song like this! Love the Mighty SP!

  • to runaround kids in get-go cars, vaseline after births and neon coughs, galaxies full of nobody's....

  • This song is so fuckin heavy!! Woo! Smashing Pumpkins are just genius.

  • Will be covering this song in the summer. Can't wait. This song is like putting a stick of dynamite in each ear.

  • Billy Corgan is a nazi

  • My guy has been playing drums for about 8 or 9 years and he has a hard time playing this song! Lol this song is so great! The drumming is just...wow.

  • My guy has been playing drums for about 8 or 9 years and he has a hard time playing this song! Lol this song is so great! The drumming is just...wow.

  • is it smashing pumpkins or the smashing pumpkins? coz itunes says smashing pumpkins but this album cover says the smashing pumpkins.

  • @BigCherylFan Formally, it The Smashing Pumpkins, though many say just Smashing Pumpkins -shrugs-

  • I think this and Soma were the most brazened tracks they ever wrote. Sad to see it go....

  • This song is one of the most fucking hardcore songs I've ever heard. The riff is incredible, and the solo is probably one of the best I've heard in my life; it's like all hell breaking loose. Then again, what do you expect from the greatest band in history, The Smashing Pumpkins?

  • @zvx490 I'd say XYU and Tales of a Scorched Earth are MUCH more hardcore than this, although it is fucking awesome.

  • This song is probably one of the most fucking hardcore songs I've ever heard in my life. You can't turn the volume up high enough...the riff is kick-ass, and the solo is probably one of the best I've ever heard, like all hell breaking loose. The lyrics are unbelievable...then again, what do you expect from the greatest band in history, The Smashing Pumpkins?

  • @zvx490

this is one of the most hardcore songs you've ever heard? i mean, it gets me pumped and all, but it is in no way one of the most hardcore songs ever. you may wanna check out the actual genre hardcore(or hardcore punk, as it is also known). that would probably be, you know, hardcore

  • "This message is for anyone who dares to hear a fool".

  • @skullface89 Exactly. Take this song with a grain of salt.

  • Comment removed

  • @schmittelt Consider me a fool. This song is a mystical journey, as with pretty much anything on Mellon Collie.

  • And when you're no longer young and the anger and rage disappear with the realization that it's all in your head and that the world is a pretty cool place to be after all, then what? Of course, some people are so "in love with their sadness" that they never come to that realization. I'm so glad I managed to flip the switch inside, otherwise I'd be dead.

  • One of the greatest anti-drug songs (my interpetation) I've ever heard. I guess Jimmy wasn't listening.

  • Ermmmm.... I pretty sure this isn't an anti-drugs song. It's about the anger and rage and loneliness of dissaffected youth.

Hence, the title "Fuck you - an ode to no-one".

  • And also, don't forget, BC admits that he's being foolish by being angry at the world.

  • Rofl nice tags Tofu ftw \,,/

  • Classic.

  • Great song¡¡¡

    From spain ;)

  • the band which got me into learning the drums was sp. chamberlain's drumming is one of the few good sources of inspiration in music for me xP

  • Yeah he is a great drummer. Check out Tim Alexander of Primus, Josh Freese of the Vandals and APC, and Danny Carey of Tool.

  • Finally convinced my band to cover this song! Hope I do the drums justice! (SPOILER: I will :)

  • Post it! Would love to see your band's performance! Thanks.

  • Ah man. That requires recording equipment and stuffs :p

  • Rawk on! The fact you are still keeping SP blasting out the eardrums of young, virgin ears means you are doing Jimmy's drumming plenty of justice! If you really love SP than I'm sure you kicked ass.

  • @punkdrummah Oh I can't wait....

  • disconnect

  • Pumpkins Forever \m/

  • The Pumpkins Are The Best!!!!!!!

  • LOVE THE PUMPKINS!!

  • corgan's solos are f*ing amazing. the bends he incorporates are just.....i mean.....f* man. awesome.

  • i almost forgot how great this song is...

i was listening to some other pumpkins songs an then this line came right into my head...

"i took a virgin mary axe to his sweet baby jane,

lost my innocence to a no good girl..."

one of their best songs !!!

  • so many fucking guitars. good choon

  • Reading some previous comments, I can agree with today's rap sucks compared to the old lol, and in my opinion 90's rock is the best

  • My head is spining right now... this song is great.. actually all the album is amazing. "Destroy the mind-destroy the body-but you cannot destroy the heart"

  • I'm 22 now too and this was one of the first albumsi bought to, the first cd I ever bought was Tool - Undertow.

  • this was the first album i ever bought as a kid. bought it in 3rd grade and listened to it nonstop. makes me feel nostalgic listening to it now (im 22).

  • I bought it when I was 12 years old, I'm now 26.

    Memories..

  • i'm 14 and all i listen 2 is old grunge and punk rock music!!

  • would u like a cookie...

  • this is the best album ever in the 90's.. even thought I was pretty young, like 13, I looooved it!

  • hi, I am 29, my youth and teenager times I spent listening the Seattle movement: Nirvana, Soundgarden, STP, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains. I guess I was lucky. I also like the 60's and 70's rock, metal, punk that was made. in the 80's few bands impressed, and I guess nowadays it's a bad taste revival of the 80's worse things.

ps my English isn't perfect, it's not my primary language.

  • i'm 23 and i listened to the same bands + soundgarden *love "supernatural"*

  • You mean "Superunknown." lol

  • haha, yeah, you're right... i was drunk this day, i think... :D

  • It's pretty much the same as I did in my youth (I'm 28, as you can see). I don't think that nowadays music is a 80 revival, instead I believe it'a a shit of his own. The difference is: 80s ended up but we don't know when and if this shit will end up!

  • im 18 years old, i dunno if u consider me youth but i would never listen toMOST of the crap now a days, alice in chains STP smashing pumpkins are 3 of my favrite bands

  • Good choices Deft0nes

  • im so glad i grew up on this kind of music!

  • mine2 Deft0ones!

  • i think the sadest thing is that no youth today has heard of any of these bands, SP, STP, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, when if they were born 15 years earlier, they wud be in love with them. im trying to get my peers to like '90s music, how do people even like today's music?

  • ummmmm....no. guitar hero has done a really good job of fixing that "problem". they have pretty much made every one of those bands heard by like 1 song that it plays.

  • yeah but they dont know what music is... its kind of a disgrace because there like that song is from guitar hero... they dont even know who it is by..

  • not true. I'm 14 and SMashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Alice In Chains and Soundgarden are four of my favourite bands.

  • You're well on your way to becoming awesome, keep at it... Just keep the fuck away from Zwan lol.

  • lol. I like Zwan

  • i love smashing pumpkins 2 my fav

  • and im 13 :)

  • im from the wrong generation it sucks being a teenager in this fucking dull time of mtv hip hop and emo winey bitch alt rock i consider myself to be a gen x teen although i was born in 93 but who gives a fuck i dont know im going on about shit that no one cares about

  • i know what you mean, my school is carbon copies everywhere you turn, i asked a few people if they knew who kurt cobain was... their response: who?i think i heard about him in a lil wayne song -.-

  • Thats kind of how my school is. When I wear my Cobain shirt I get a lot of "whos that on your shirt?" or "is that you?" because I look similar to him.

  • Comment removed

  • not a fan of rap, its not really my style, but i wonder, is it because no one has ever been a really good rapper? i can imagine myself liking rap or hiphop or whatever if its not all about pussy n guns n "tha hood". im talking about lyrics, attitude, creativity, integrity, etc., AND really good fuckin music to back it up. think about it, if the rapper is so good, he actually gets rockers, punks, goths, and whatnot to listen to him. can it be done? we may never know...

  • i dont think it will ever be done man

  • Comment removed

  • i know what you mean but now that you mention that i think i could help you out, there are 3 hip hop artist that i really like that you might take an interest in:

    1. Atmosphere

    2. Sage Francis

    3. Murs

i like them, but if you look them up and think they suck i wouldnt really be offended cause its not like rap and hip hop is my passion. But they are the artist that you might be looking for cause they dont rap about stupid lame shit.

  • Fuck yeah! Sage Francis is awesome and Atmosphere is great also.

  • who says that? seriously, do people actually tell you lil wayne has good lyrics? damn that's sad. good thing we have good music like this to block that shit out

  • Thank god for the Smashing Pumpkins to block out Lil Wayne's puke.

  • seriously, Lil Wayne sucks

along with most other rappers 2day who cant rap worth of shit. rock is where its at anyways, and the Smashing Pumpkins OWN!

  • @yankeesarethebest224 Yeah man, awesome lyrics aren't constituted by rhyming. Lyrics should have soul and power. Rhyming is just a different tool. These lyrics are sick!

  • Why do you write your hate about lil wayne on a smashing pumpkins song?

  • @jullepulle77 idk some one was talking about him or something....

  • @jullepulle77 My favorite part of that comment was when he said "THERE NOT GENIOUS".

  • @SONOFABITCH haha, yes, totally agree ;)

  • @yankeesarethebest224

    lol "THERE NOT GENIOUS" lol

  • @SONOFABITCH genius. suck a dick...

  • @yankeesarethebest224 You also misspelled 'their'. Dumbass.

  • @SONOFABITCH o really... i didn't realize this was fucking English class ya moron.. its youtube.. get a life..

  • @yankeesarethebest224 I do realize that any advice you get on how to speak English is going to be too little, too late. My comments are not really for you, but for the entertainment of myself and the other people reading this.

  • @SONOFABITCH see it would be funny.. if proper english was actually expected on youtube.. sure my misspelling of genius is actually funny because its ironic.. but i wasnt expecting that youtube would have this highest rated comment nonsense a year ago either.. haha..

  • @yankeesarethebest224 I actually am someone else who expects to read proper English. Please don't kill me, Gaga.

  • I actually did "lose my innocence to a no-good girl."

  • We all did man, we all did.

  • Same here.

  • hey dude lets not lie to strangers :)

  • heavy

  • Its Not Just Pumpkins and RHCP Its Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Weezer Their all talented And great bands of the 90's but I think Pumpkins are the best but all those other bands rock 2

  • I Don't Need Your Love To Disconnect!

  • Pumpkins just plain fkn rock, nuff said!

  • What?

  • this message is for anyone who cares to hear a fool! thats awesome!

  • I like Smashing Pumpkins. A lot. But I've always hated the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I'll admit they have some okay (at best) songs, but most I just can't stand listening to. Almost as bad as Everlast's Letters Home from the Garden of Stone. One song I absolutely can't listen to (but am forced to, anyway, since my parents love them) is Give It Away. A senseless, pointless, annoying, repetitive song. Compared to them, I love Smashing Pumpkins.

  • Red hot chili peppers are pretty annoying and their lyrics are pointless. Well so it seems that way. I dont know their music much but it seems that way. Smashing pumpkins rock!

  • listen to tearjerker from red hot chili peppers and see what you think of that song then and listen to it all

  • That's one of the few good songs on OHM.
