  • I thought this version was a Sha na na original until I found that it is basically a cover the Vito and the Salutations version. But I will say Sha na na's is better.

  • I love this version over the original bowser and the guys really rock this and are sexy to boot

  • can someone please explain why this has almost half a million views, while the original version (in this style a la vito and the salutations) has less than 100,000?

  • @ernestryles probably most of them are mine, totally totally crazy about Johnny Contardo lol xx

  • Don't you just love these damn boys. What would we do without men.

  • it amazes me that there are so many in that band and they all can sing.

  • I loved this when I first it and still do. Ha ha loved that quick shot of the "Bowzer" picture at the end!

  • Oh my Donny I hunger for your touch

  • I used to always imitate Bowser when I was little whenever Sha-Na-Na would air on tv.

  • MEU DEUS QUE VOZ É ESSA jOHNNIE SIMPLESMENTE THE BEST !!!!!!!

  • One question...have they ever recorded the song? because I kept finding this song and I can't find it. Its one of my favorite songs I like about Sha Na Na. I'll appreciate the response :)

  • I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! It's my favorite song the Sha Na Na does...and Johnny, once again is amazing!!! Try this...listen to it 10 times in a row, and try to go to sleep...you will wake up with it in your head! PROVEN!!! LOL

  • Bowser is DA SHIT

  • Unchained Melody on steroids lol.... come here Johnny... I will chain you and never let you go!

  • When will they release this show on DVD? Shanana came to our screens in Nigeria in 1981 and everyone just loved it. Johonny Contardo was simply awesome. One of the best singing voices we ever heard.

  • MAN COULD YOU PLEASE PUT THIS UP IN 720P OR AT LEAST 480 QUALITY.

  • OK, this is pretty bad.. the manager's fail.. not the singers.

  • On American Idol, they give one singer a week to learn a song, and if he can perform it while walking down a staircase without forgetting the lyrics, everyone applauds. Sha Na Na had to synchronize ten men dancing together like the Rockettes-- three songs a week! And eight of the ten men were amateurs from a Columbia College glee club, later MDs, law profs, authors. JOHNNY, DENNY AND BOWSER COULD HAVE WON AMERICAN IDOL. See Rob Leonard's Teen Angel from the Fillmore. Him too, easy.

  • @profhum in theory you are correct but here's the deal with American Idol your fate is already decided before you preform

  • True talent. They are not only singing in perfect harmony...but doing all the moves too. Its hard enough to get it right standing still. How do I know?? I just do.

  • @sundaypunchr - Um, not to burst your bubble or anything, but these guys are lip-syncing this song, as is the standard practice. You can tell in the beginning when Jocko, the drummer, is not actually hitting his drum. Just FYI.

  • @shooster11 I was once told that the music was pre-recorded and the singing was live.

  • @ThisOldCubGal - Oh no doubt they are singing along with the pre-recorded music, but the final product you hear is was previously recorded.

  • These guys don't just sing, they perform. That's not to everyone's taste, but after seeing how much energy they project in person, I'm impressed. Their TV show was nothing compared to their stage act.

  • @dorseyharrington I can relate to that! I saw Sha Na Na in concert and they were awesome!

  • If you guys think this is great you must listen to Vito & The Salutions,They blow Bowzer & Sha Na Na away.

  • THER JUST FANTASTIC THATS TALENT THEY WATCH THIS TODAY AND ALL THER WILL B IS DAH

  • whos is they one that sings really high?

  • @countrygrl121 Thats Johnny Contardo.

  • @countrygrl121 the gorgeous one xx

  • You gotta give it to Bowzer in this one, He kicks asss! Great!

  • can anybody get the lyrics to this?

  • Great rendition of this song..not mushy like Tom Jones or Elvis...real fun

  • they raped this

  • Miss this show. Wonder where they are now..

  • @Godspine Bowzer has a touring show (Bowzer's Doo Wop Special); Johnny Contardo is a chef with a TV show in southern CA. Santini is an orthopedic surgeon for the US Women's Olympic Soccer Team; Denny is a lawyer... and that's all I know. :-(

  • @melanie8771 Chico and Dirty Dan have both passed away, Jocko, Donny, and Screamin Scott still tour as Sha Na Na, Lenny is retired. Bowzer is doing two shows in July (July 15 in Hyannis July 16 in Cohasset) with Johnny and Lenny as special guests

  • covering vito and the salutations, cant decide what version i like better, but probably the salutations as it came first and therefore is more original in interpretation.

  • @ernestryles I have to go with this version. They are having waaaaaaaay more fun & it seems more upbeat. Just sounds better, to me anyway........

  • @ChrisinEC its definitely not more upbeat than the sha na na version, also if youve seen the salutations performance on bandstand youd see they enjoyed themselves quite a lot as well watch?v=Qujpmdx8H3I

  • love love love this

  • Jesus, Johnny's falsetto on this one is just unmatchable. Save for Frankie Valli, but still...

  • Look at the sea...look at the sea...look at the sea...

  • This...is...awesome...

  • @malko42 -you are an ignorant asshole.

  • @malko42 -you are an ignorant asshole. This is what they were riffing on, moron!

  • @malko42 personally speaking this is my fave ever version of this song, but each to their own x

  • @noosmum

    I agree 100%!!!

  • @noosmum me too and i like their version of blue moon too.... i think they rule both versions

  • @noosmum Mine, too! It is so wild, you have to love it!

  • Johnny may have been a crush, but Bowser was a gas!!! Seeing this just brings back fond memories. :D

  • My God that was amazing. How did they all remember their part. And them shiny suits were a gas.

  • Oops .. you noticed it was different ??? Well bless my black soul !!!

  • It's different, but give me the Righteous Brothers.

  • amazing

  • better than the original...........

  • Not bad but give me Vito & The Salutations any time

  • Comment removed

  • these guys are great. Vito and the Salutations would be proud.

  • The only group ever that might have out-coastered the Coasters.

  • someone can put a best quality please

  • someone can put a best quality please

  • EPIC

  • Shaaaa-na -na ruleeeeeeees!!

    doo wop forever!!

  • to you both lol. i read its the 21st dec, which makes him asaggitarius but have seen the other date around too, and if hes a saggy hes all mine lol xxx

No changed my mind...hes mine anyway, ill be his toygirl lol xxx

  • @noosmum

Again, I am not so blind as those who will not see...and I do see that you are claiming Female Status. So, please refer back to my "Non-Argument Contractual Clause" I done formed up with Toni. Yet, these fella's (or wimmin's?) might go tooth and nail with ya on the D/Y O' Birth of ol' J.C. (not THAT "J.C."-The other'n):

    See: "Johnny Contardo" @ WIkipedia

So I will hand the Argument Ball over to them--and now I must ask you a personal question: CAPICHE?

  • @WaterFowlJones lol...ok just checked the magic ones f/b and i conceed defeat...u are indeed correct at the 23/12, so i bow down to your superior knowledge, however, capricorn, saggy, virgo it really makes no odds to me, i still want him for my birthday pressie (which i am QUITE sure of the date!!), or christmas pressie or both, and ill forgo the wrapping paper too to save the expense as shipping to the uk is prob quite expensive xx

  • @noosmum

No Ma'am, it is NOT Superior Knowledge...just the dogged determinatioin,

inherenet to mah lil' Cappy soul, to ferret out Truth, Justice, and The American Way.

And his astrological sign does matter...doncha know. According to Kris Kristopherson, that other'n J.C. (talked about previously) WAS indeed a Capricorn...which never sat well with me, being as how 12/25 was put forth as HIS B-day, just to get a bunch of barefoot heathen's to go along, to get along...jes' sayin.

  • @noosmum

Oh, and...that reference to Kristopherson's song, "Jesus Was A Capricorn" brought to my mind the opening lines of the song:

    "Jesus was a Capricorn

    He ate organic food

He believed in love and peace

    And never wore no shoes

    Long hair, beard and sandles

And a funky bunch of friends..."

Those lines always rekindle a vision of The Haight Ashbury, circa: '65...No disrespect intended to J.C., but I think I used to run with them folks Kris mentioned. Jes' sayin'...again.

  • @noosmum

And Noosie Darlin', when ya get that lad shipped to ya, forego FED EX OCEAN EXPRESS...I been waiting 2, yes count them: TWO days for those guys to bring me nothing more that a lousy OVERNIGHT envelope outta Canada...and they keep screwing it up. Granted, I live in the middle of nowhere, on a mountain top, in a place reminiscent of Deliverance-ville...AND my nearest neighbor bears a striking resemblance to " the purty mouth guy", but still...Anyway, check into a chopper drop instead.

  • @WaterFowlJones well theres a heli base just down the road, within walking distance too!!! however as i understand that the magic one is happily ensconced within the matrimonial walls, as i, myself am too, i will have to be content with my daydreams....but having said all that, ill be 45 in a few days so i can afford to wait a little longer lol xx

  • @noosmum

The Nooster! Holiday here today, "across the pond"...And ya'll don't celebrate it, I know...but maybe you funny talkin' kids should have you a "Thank God For Getting Rid of The Colonist's Day", where ya party and feast...which was real a real close 2nd in ridding a country of riff-raff to..."The Mariel Boat Lifts" coming outta Cuba, thanks to the generosity of Jimmy Carter.

Betcha Castro is STILL laughing his...ARSE (proper English there, eh wot?) off on that deal, huh?

  • @WaterFowlJones no we dont get any fun holidays except xmas..."sigh" but we do get Royal weddings...such fun...we all get a day off work...except, nurses, doctors, polce, MOD, oh and retail supervisers lol!!!

  • to you both lol. i read its the 21st dec, which makes him asaggitarius but have seen the other date around too, and if hes a saggy hes all mine lol xxx

  • Johnny was soooooooooooooooooooo gorgeous!!!!!! I cannot believe he is 62 now!

I always dreamt I would marry him, when I was younger and watching the t.v. show!

  • @Michelle1971ful Excuse me but i believe that you are VERY WRONG about Johnny's age. He will turn 59 years young on December 21st.

  • @ThisOldCubGal He was born dec 23d 1951

  • @Tonithenightowl

Was just checking out the great tunes from these fellas... and I always have appreciated their representation of some of the greatest music ever....Then noticed your claim of his B-Day being 12/23/51....kinda made me do a double take---Hell, that's my birth date!!! That makes him (and your's truly here) good ol' Capricorns', which really does kibnda explain him being a....Chick Magnet! And then add in our shared Guinea heritage, and voila...We's Astro Bro's!

  • @WaterFowlJones Don't you wish that's all it took? lol You also have to sing like a bird, be charming as Don Juan, and look good in gold lame' pants. Even Johnny doesn't do the pants anymore, but he still has all the moves and a great voice. They were such a fabulous band, and also a part of our pop culture. BTW looks like you have a birthday coming up soon. Happy Birthday to you and Johnny. You share that date with a great entertainer.

  • @Tonithenightowl

I know better'n to argue with....gurls, BUT, I beg to differ dear lady, HE is fortunate enough to share that date with...moi. Funny thing is, he and I were born 300 miles apart, which makes me wonder if perchance, we both greezed up our little baby butts, and slid down the same rainbow that Sunday night we wuz born....now wouldn't THAT be something? Be interesting to know just who is older...you know stuff about him, what time was he born?

    Jones

  • @WaterFowlJones I don't know THAT much about him, and it must be magic living in your head lol

  • @Tonithenightowl

Well....you betcha, not only is it MAGIC all up in my pointed little noggin, it is also mighty CROWDED---got me screaming hordes of downright crazy MoFo's vying for position, and/or Top Dog Status...but I handle it fair-like, and allow each in turn, to Post up on Boards....So now, it is The Apologist's turn:

Toni, I do sincerely apologize if somehow that last rotten $%^&*#^ insulted you. But it did appear that you were well versed in all things..."Contardo"...Capiche?

  • @WaterFowlJones Well it's ok they all know you in there lol. You didn't offend me I found your responses funny and creative . Got to know how to take a joke as well as dish one out, Capiche?

  • @Tonithenightowl

Seems to me Toni darlin' that ya done seen through the BS Smoke and Mirror facade I spend so much time maintaining...you got me, I am a funny sumbit, and quite creative...Although, I can't carry a tune for diddly-squat-poop, BUT (and THAT is a BIG but), I can surely turn a phrase on a keyboard...which has to count for something, no?

And my poetry? If I fired some up here, you betcha, I have no doubt that you'd need some CPR, or at the least a....well, leave it at that!

  • @WaterFowlJones Oh I'm sure you are one SMOOTH dude lol. However, it's known fact that singers get all the chicks even if they are ugly as sin, ask Jagger. lol

  • @Tonithenightowl

"Smooth"? Naw...actually I am rough as a cobb...which is prolly why chick's dig me...*Waylon said Ladies Love Outlaw's, yeah?

*Like babies, love a bunch of stray dogs

ladies touch babies like a banker touches gold,

    but Rough Cobbs touch ladies

somewhere deep down in their soul...

    Jones

  • @WaterFowlJones You are truly a poet. I'm sure the ladies love you. While outlaws are exciting they usually only appeal to the young. As one gets older, outlaws are more trouble than they are worth.lol However a boring man can make life seem very dull, so maybe we need just a little outlaw in all our men.

  • @Tonithenightowl perfect answer, quite poetic in your own quiet way lol...however always did like a little bit of the danger element myself.....has got me in quite a bit of trouble over the years lol x

  • @noosmum Lol Yes, we all loved a bad boy sometime in our life, however glad I didn't marry one. While crazier than a shit house rat, mine is responsible, loyal, a great father and grandfather and I didn't have to bail him out of jail even once lol

  • @Tonithenightowl

For you AND The Nooster (AKA: Noos-O-rama)...12/23 is evidently a B-Day that causes chicks to dig the bearer of said B-Date, they just can't help it... Look up Joseph Smith (Hint: See also: The Angel Moroni), and note that the guy had like 27 wives...that right there is a a fella whut had him some Chick Magentism, no?

His birthdate? Funny you should ask...it was: 12/23/05....as in: 1805.

Me and Johnny C., and Brutha Joe makes 3...and Ah'm still FREE!

    Jones

  • @WaterFowlJones

    Wait a minute...mag-NE-tism....

    Jones

  • @WaterFowlJones Anyone with 27 wives is full blown bozo. You cappy's are dangerous to say the least lol.

  • @WaterFowlJones 27 wives????? poor guy mustve been exausted!!! on hubby no3 myself, but im keeping this one lol... and no i didnt kill the others ...........however if Johnny becomes available im up for number 4444444444444444

  • @noosmum

I can imagine the fella went through some stuff,..and there is no proof that wimmin's become "cycle-synchronized" so far as hormonal fluctuations go...have a buddy that was married to a female (thankfully), and between them they had 6 daughters, all living at home, and all of "THE AGE" at one point....and I can tell you, the man was a veritable Bat Shiat Crazy sumbit pert near every minute, of every day---since according to him, one or more were always in a "mood"...

    (2-B cont.)

  • @WaterFowlJones

Where was I? Oh yeah...."moods"....Maybe (and "maybe" is the operative word here), but jes' MAYBE, all them potentially (and "potentially" is also an operative word) raging hormones surrounding him, made ol' Joseph crazier'n a bonafide, babblin' n' droolin', whack job---and so that might could explain him having conversations with..."Angels"....jes' sayin.

    Jones

  • @WaterFowlJones troble is, where it comes to Johnny....I, and many many others become drooling babbling wrecks, and yes i guess that will also have a lot to do with raging hormones lol!!!, and may i ask, whats wrong wiv talking to angels, my mums one and i talk to her all the time xxx (but then again i already know im a loony tunes lol_)

  • Nooster:

Tain' t nuthin' wrong in conversing w/Angels....s'pose it does kinda make a difference (good example there in Joe's case) just what ya talk about though...and then, what ya do with the info ya done got via the converstaion.

Not detracting from ol' Joe Smith none at all, or Stormin' Mormon's, was just pointing out that if he went ta court, "The Hormonal Defense" might could become pert near as renowned as...."The Twinkie Defense"....mayhaps.

    Jones

  • @WaterFowlJones I should have known it was you. lol I was reading this and said wait a minute.

  • @Tonithenightowl

    Try it thisaway:

"I know it was you Fredo.... Aaaaa....I mean Jonsey....You broke my heart."

  • @WaterFowlJones LOL No sense in being Italian if you can't show it.

  • @WaterFowlJones lol u do make me laff, had a hard week and missed out on seeing my fave man(next to hubby that is) have to say that he may oneday read this lol, its nice to be able to sign in and have a laff as i drool also, if i dont get chance to come on again b4 have a great xmas and grease for peace xxx

  • @noosmum

And not to forget Nooster, me and Johnny C. got's us a B-day comin' pretty quick...And being as how it sounds like a number that conveys OLD, it just ain't so. Capricorn's actually go through a "reverse aging process", so our soon to come dependence on Depends doesn't mean we's incontinent, nope, just means we are reverting back to a time when droppin Lincoln Logs in our di-dy's is deemed acceptable...Not looking forward to it necessarily, but aaaa...jes' sayin.

  • @WaterFowlJones

Wait a minute.,..I meant YULE Logs...'Tis The Season ya know....

  • @WaterFowlJones ah bless, sweetie, but ur young at heart and thats what counts, and theres many a good tune played on an old fiddle lol, however i do of course wish you a very happy birthday with lots of cake and prezzies and maybe not tooooooo many candles!!! we dont want u out of breath after all..... anyway age is just a numberand it sounds like youve aged well as do all italian wines lol tc xxx

  • @nooster

Lots of prezzies? Allow me to explain how it works when you are a so called "Christmas Baby". Me and Johnny C. were both born 12/23/51--TWO days before Chrstmas. And what happens is, a "Christmas Baby" ends up getting a "Combo-Prezzie", in short, ONE box, with TWO cards attached....one card each for the individual occasions. So we done been gettin' screwed on that deal for goin' on 59 years...AND, that is without the benefit of even a kiss throwed in with the screwin' we get....

  • @WaterFowlJones i hope you and Johnny have a very very Happy Birthday with lots of joy, happiness, and love oh and ill throw in a kiss or two just to ease the pain, lots of love, Nita xx

  • @noosmum

Nita!!! I like that name. Thank you much for the good wishes. 12/23 is a dual notable date for me...Obviously, one reason is that it is my birthday...and the other reason is, I was released from the service of good ol' Uncle Sam on that very date, 12/23/71. I got out there at Ft. Dix N.J., then caught a shuttle bus to Philadelphia (the city of my nativity); took ONE look at Philly, and decided to get gone, and back to my home since '56, here in CA. ..jes' sayin'. Thanks again!

  • @WaterFowlJones Happy New Year my friend, i hope you and yours a very prosperous, healthy, happy, lucky year, with lots of love from me and mine, Nita xx

  • @WaterFowlJones yeah you have the same birthdate but do you have the moves and voice? wink wink

  • @Tonithenightowl somehow i think that would be a very hard act to pull off...there is but one Johnny Contardo....unfortunatly lol xx

  • @noosmum It would have been nice for all of us girlss who had a crush oh Johnny if they had cloned hime! LOL mmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm he was YUMMY! Oh, and he sang pretty, too!

  • @65wendym He is a clone-- to Billy Crystal

  • @Tonithenightowl Toni...have u seen the magic ones fb page hun??????? I will move heaven and earth...this i have GOT to see xxx

  • I just love this :)))

  • WOW..!!!!

  • I'm a 15 year-old metalhead. Yet I like this song, and this band!

  • @blackshadowbass Well hon it just shows you have great taste.

  • @blackshadowbass if you like the song check out the original version performed this way by vito and the salutations

  • @blackshadowbass these guys are totally metal

  • @blackshadowbass good for you.. im an old Deathmetal guy and still love these guys

  • @sarys73 And some day... I shall be an old death metal guy!

  • icons

  • That had to be one of either the funniest or the best version of that song i ever heard or both. I thought it would be a slow version like the Righteous Brothers. Whatever. It's great.

  • This is my jam

  • Outside of Bowser, whose voice is incomparable , and a totally different range, you can hear Johnny's voice over all through the whole song.

  • I love the guy at .33sec with the high voice. Anybody know his name..?

  • @benvolieo

Johnny Contardo. Amazing tenor, one helluva head voice, and an amazingly nice man on a purely personal level. Being a bass myself, I've always preferred Bowzer (the guy in the black tank-top.. tall and string-beanish), but Johnny is awesome

  • @Ironsouled have to agree with you... Johnny is amazing!!!

  • You know why this is so great? The ENERGY alone. They were playing to the audience and it all just clicked. While millions watched the live audience got it first hand and the rest of us joined in. Few songs hit me like this one. There is a feel to it that most songs don't have. It's alive!!!

  • There was a group in the 1950's called "Vito and the Salutations" that did this version of Unchained Melody - I heard it on Sirius today... It didn't sound half as good as this Sha Na Na version...

  • I used to love watching this show--ha!

  • DAMMIT! I thought they did this live! Watch the first two seconds. He NEVER touched the drums! I LOVE these guys, but now I'm pissed!!!!

  • @akabigdaddydawg Instruments were prerecorded, but the vocals were live.

  • @JStrange13 Ok, I was floored when I saw that, but I can buy the vocals part. I watched, and they are spot on. Thanks for the tip J!

  • @akabigdaddydawg

The singing was live, but because they moved around so much, in order for the music to be realistic they taped it, without the vocals. But believe me I saw them many times live, and they sounded as good as they sound here. They were all singers in their own right,

  • @MommaJamma49 Somebody else told me that too. I can buy that. They were still great no matter what. I remember watching them as a kid growing up in Philly. Sha Na Na and Happy Days----GOOD STUFF!

  • @dickswinger86 Why don't you get a life sand monkey? Go play with somebody else. You really bore me.

  • Still hard to believe these guys performed at Woodstock!

Yea, yea, i know, not quite the same lineup.

  • Very good...they really had talent. I really enjoyed this video.

  • While I love the slow rendition, this is the version I like the best. Totally out of sight. Did I say that out loud? lol I'm showing my age again. Johnny and Bowser shine big time for this version.

  • embarrasing...

  • @tommy Apparently you have no taste. You are the only negative comment.

  • Even though I like the original and the rendition like this by Vito and Salutations no one does it like Sha_Na-Na. They are all so multi-talented and ALWAYS give their 110% best at any performance! They still sound terrific and have all the same energy! Johnny can hit notes and never misses!!! Thanks Sha-Na- Na for all the years of complete fun and nostalgia-Never stop!Bless you all!

  • @Johnson53 Actually, Vito & the Saluations sang it BEFORE the Righteous Brothers & SNN uses their rendtion. I happen to like both versions.

  • @gopherscout

I'm so sick of that Righteous Bros version at this point I could probably go the rest of my life without hearing it again and be perfectly happy. This version however, I find really fun and a lot more interesting.

  • @Boubala24 when I first watched this video it didn't click with me that this was the same song that the Righteous Brothers sang! I don't get to listen to the radio much so the Righteous Brothers version doesn't bother me, yet! LOL!! I do love this Version & Sha Na Na does a fantastic job as always!

  • @gopherscout My father and I fought about this for a LONG time. He never wanted to believe it's the same song, just faster. Finally, I put lyrics together.

This one is the BEST and only version I'll listen too. Nothing beats this and the looks of the guys ;)

  • @melanie8771 Can we get a Amen on that? Amen. When you are right you are right lol. I listen to this version all the time. The dance moves are the best and Johnny and Bowser steal it completely.

  • @Tonithenightowl This one is SO much better than the Brothers version. Granted everyone loves the RB version for it's dancing capabilities.

I would rather preform a routine to this to dance at my wedding. So fun, and fresh!

  • @melanie8771 What a great idea!!!!! Hope you are young enough to pull it off cus this dance would kill me at 57 yrs old lol. Congrats on your upcoming nuptials and if you end up doing this I hope you post it because I would love to see it. I'm sure it would be a blast.

  • damn, that my friends is entertainment.

  • I love this version the best. I play it all the time. Johnny is off the charts great in his lead of this classic. I watch it just to hear him lol. Talk about a commanding performance. He just steals it. Of course he does that with everything he does.

  • I couldn't agree more with the two comments below. I wonder why in the film 'Grease' when Sha Na Na played at the school formal why they weren't shown carrying on as they did on tv. Maybe the producer didn't want them to outshine Ollie and John.

  • White Rapping in the late 60's...LOL

  • @jo88dale actually this song is older than that and it is known to be sung both fast and slow now what came first i do not know

  • I love this rendition of a slow song done fast which isn't easy to pull off but they did it beautifully. The choreography isn't as easy as it looks either. They just have it down to a T. This is one of my fave's.

  • They are still the best and Johnny sounds great on his solo albums and shows. They still perform lmore than your money's worth and LOVE their choreography!!!! They sure know how to give people a great time!!!!!!!

  • I like Elvis singing it, but this is AWESOME!...

  • try looking up Manhatten Transfer, they did this on some show, same speed, same movements ,also AWESOME

  • It a shame they do not make a come back

  • I listen to mostly hard rock but this is awesome.

  • Thanks so much for posting this.. I love watching/listening to them so much! Wish they had DVDs out of the shows!!!

  • where i can find this song???

  • i grew up watching these guy's.priceless

  • rip dirty dan and chico! lol my mother dragged me to see these guys 4 times..........the Melody Fair in Buffalo, and then Darien Lake (now six flags)

after the first time, I didnt need to be dragged! great stuff!

have lots of posters, playbills and autographs, towel from Johnny, and drumsticks from Jocko....lol those were the days!

  • @MrSoulbentrage

I was just looking up Melody Fair stuff on Google and it brought up your post! I was at that same Melody Fair Sha Na Na show, in what must have been 1981 or so? I remember an unknown prop comic named Harry Anderson opened for them. (Later on "Night Court")

The reason I was looking things up was that Melody Fair is being demolished this week. Major bummer, but great memories. We lived on Townline Road, not far from it. Also saw Weird Al later on, many others.

  • @whackmeyer

great stuff. I did forget to mention that Harry Anderson opened up for them.......fav line when he had a audience member come up and put his head in a guilittine (sp)

"if you see the ground rushing up to meet your face" lol never forget.

  • lots of memories Thanks

  • I especially love JC's falsetto. Maybe he can teach me how to sing. Lord knows I need it.
