in the real life jm barrie met george and jack and baby peter at the park with their nurse and their father was alive and didnt die till 1907 and slyvia llewelyn davies didnt die till 1910 and their were five davies boys. george, jack, peter, michel, and nicholas. and jack was the one who resented james the most and george and michel was the closest to james. also nickolas was the only one who didnt die of a tradigy
I love this vid. After seeing Finding Neverland I checked internet about information about Barrie and the Davies Children. Sad that many of them die that soon in live :(
After I read "Kensington Gardens", I love Peter Pan, Davies', Barrie, and all this magical atmosphere of Barrie's and Peter Pan's world more than everything else xP
you should read "Kensington Gardens"- I think it's the best Barrie's biography ever written.
I agree J. Depp is too handsome to be Barrie. And a lot of things were changed in this movie. For example Arthur Llewelyn Davies, Silvia's husbande and boys' father died not before Barrie met Davies', but later. But it's not a huge problem xD
Further to the last comment...pay a visit to the Sandford Lasher near Oxford, a torrent of water and a pool where Michael Llewellyn-Davies drowned aged 20 with another boy...possibly a lover. George L Davies died in the War, Peter committed suicide under a train in his 60s....not many people are aware of the tragedy surrounding these boys.
Nice that you took the trouble to include pictures of the actual boys and Barrie himself. Yes, Johhny Depp is far too handsome - Barrie definitely was not - but he did play the part with a lot of sensitivity.
Strange to think that the REAL Peter- Peter Llewelyn-Davis- committed suicide by throwing himself under a train in 1960. We will never know what went on, but certainly he held a grudge against Barrie.
I always felt Sylvia was his real life Wendy. So sad. This is a beautiful video I really loved it.This story is so special and so is the background of it. Side note..the statue in kensington gardens we have a replica here where i live in st. john's newfoundland...i loved it all my growing up...always wanted to go see the statue first lol

J M Barrie was short of stature. Johnny Depp wasn't quite fit for the role of Peter Pan's author.
