The F150 torture tests of the Ecoboost on Ford's website is very impressive indeed! You can plainly see that the V6 outperforms all of the V8's without question. In fact, they started with a random engine right off the engine assembly line and put 150,000 miles of extreme abuse on it BEFORE it was even installed in a truck. After seeing the various tests, it is obvious that this is a serious engine that will get every manufacturer to move in the same direction!

"to improve mileage for the customer" ....let me check......uh, no. the purpose of a turbo'd v6 is only in ford's interest: it is a cheap way to boost cafe figures, and cheap for the power. It's longevity will remain suspect until proven in the field. How many times have you heard about "the extensive testing proving blahblahblah" to find it is a lemon? If ford were interested in the customer, they'dve been making a small, efficient diesel for the f150 for the last 10yrs.

@mentalm12, regardless of how fast a cobal ss is, that still doesnt mean you can say your cobalt is faster than an SHO in an effort to say the SHO is a bad car or the eco-boost 3.5 is a bad engine. its a great engine, it moves a car that size quite well, can easily make 400hp, and gets great mpg. that seems like a success to me. i would like to see this engine in an awd, manual 6 speed fusion.

These Engines are already out in the 2010 flex and the MKT. I work at ford in oakville where these are made and I drive them very frequently, and trust me, these bastards got BALLS! I will have a flex in a few years.

Ford is already testing this motor in the Mustang platform to replace the 4.6 for 2011-12. And with the new Mach1 option you get the new 302 5ltr V8.
