  • How did you remove the stencil? Mind are always stuck and require a lot of prying. Yours seemed to come right off

  • 谢谢

  • @digitooltv what do you do if you accidentally bridge some bga "pads" while wicking before reattachment?

  • Hello Sir, What is the name of the chemical from glass bottle you used?

  • @thesloc That is just alcohol for cleaning, people can use acetone too, mineral spirits, paint solvents. But in this case alcohol which is not bad for skin, was just cleaning the stencil.

  • what was the paste applied at the beginning of the video?

  • Excuse me Sr. what's the temperature on the pen?

  • can u pls explaine what are the names of the materials u use,.

  • Looks like you blistered that chip at the end

  • Can any one help me to find the name of 2 things ! one after cleaning chip completely he placed some thing print/frame on chip before using that white bottle which drops i think ready made balls ! i want to know these two things name please.

    please help......

  • That guy's got one long pinkie nail. I spot a cokehead!

  • i was looking at reballing for paintballs how did i get here o.o

  • Hello, I would like to ask what is the WHOLE set you are using??

from the big machine, to the little bottle of balls.... Many many thanks

    Abz

  • Greate Job !

  • Do you need a license to reflow / reball peoples machines on craigslist?. can i get in trouble? plz reply

  • @2615863 We do not know sir, we are in China, that depends on the country you are. Check in your country licenses department sir.

  • @2615863 Get a license from your State, and insurance is a good idea too. Cover your customer's item, in case of failure.

  • Do you need a license to reflow / reball peoples machines on craigslist. can i get in trouble plz reply

  • Pleaaase, instead of putting-on music, go ahead with a vocal description...

  • @ve2zzz That is a 2 year old videos, there are many more done after that in English specially at the end of each machine video the description is there.

    Thanks

  • Can the stencil now be re-used?

  • @jbbauer0 Yes sir, if you are careful enough you can reuse them.

  • good job

  • what is that yellow stuff he is getting from the white thing called??

  • @MrHackz818 huh you mean the tin at the start thats flux

  • @Hyzing tin is the tape to clean , flux is the cream to help lubrication and prevent burning.

  • its a pretty primal way of doing it now.. there is a new solder paste you can put on instead of those beads

  • how many *C you put on your hot air station for heating balls at the end ?

  • @beta260gtx The balls are heated, depends on the balls you use, lead about 180 to 200, unlead 200 to 230, but also depends on your weather, if is cold weather you may use top, if is hot bottom temp. Remember this step heat balls and fit them not melt them, that is very important.

  • What airflow and temp settings are you using while heating the balls on the stencil?

  • what thats song??

  • Where can i find the scheme for balls for hp 6735s? Thanks...

  • I'd rather spend another 200 dollars on a new processor/memory/FPGA. Look at how much effort. And by the end, the chip is under thermal stress and it's no guaranteed to work again. Never liked reballing.

  • @yanava and if you have got let's say a six core processor or i7 worth 800 dollars(or more) and is out of guarantee and some day stops working?what do you do then?

  • @yanava Yes if you have got a 200 dollars processor it is worth changing but what do you do if you have got let's say six core processor(out of guarantee) worth 800 dollars or something like that what do you do then?

  • @gabyascu these aren't CPUs dude...

  • @yanava It is guaranteed it will work again. Depends which professional do the procedure and which machines use. The machines and tools used has a lot to do with the results.

  • Кто поет, что за песня

  • Great video! It is very informative. Just a few questions, is that a universal stencil that he used? If so how did he rid of the unwanted solder balls not attached to the pads? If not is it possible to use a universal stencil for reballing any BGA chip and will there be any additional steps? Thanks!

  • removing ICs by hot air is not depending of what they say in a data sheet because rework station is changing its parameter when ur main power suply is changing around 220v or when u swaping between deferent size of ur heater pipes also the heat not controled onley by temp control ,air control will be effective too .so the good air control and temp control value will depend in ur experiense .take an old pcbs and try to remove some ICs and resold them back to get this exp .

  • @startercable Or when you are in a colder or hotter environment, when you have more or less humidity and depends on air currents around. Well indeed not only for hot air but for everything, no environment of work or city is the same as other, so patterns are not really existant, mostly is all personal, also there are boards that have been worked before, others are even made in a different factory from the same exact brand and model can contain different elements in the solder.

  • Hi sir, I have bought ACHI IR6000 BGA work station. I have tried to remove the graphic chip of an Hp DV2000 laptop but no success after many trial on the same motherboard. I have set maximum temperature 220 degree celcius, but still no luck. What do you could be the problem? And, what do you think about IR6000 rework station? Thank inadvance.

  • @submitter2islam , Well you bought a cheap imitation of a BIRD machine, that is what you get buying that piece of trash sir, they do not even speak English in that company, and all their brand development world wide was in charge of Dragon Group China, after they split ACHI is just trash with good will made by DGC , and they split exactly because ACHI wanted to replace all the internal parts with low quality parts made in China, instead of all the parts originally planned. Your problem is that.

  • @submitter2islam That has no way to solve, you threw your money buying that machine.

    Thanks

  • @MightyGimp Reballing is about fit balls into a chip to melt them later with the proper equipment, reballing is not about melting balls, if you do like that balls will connect between them and will be a bad repair, Reballing is about fit the balls in the chip with the flux help, not about melt them. That will be the last step when you put the chip back inot the board.

  • Comment removed

  • @MightyGimp That is not reballing sir, that is lifting and reworking, humm more than 220 for that something is not being right, with good preheat all solder will melt in an increased procedure and curve of 180/200/220 in lead in mostly consoles.

    Thanks

  • my work area is indoors with a constant 70F air conditioned room in California. what number would you say airflow would be? like 1 or 2 on the knobs for air flow of the KADA 852D+. can u send me the link with u guys using the kada 852? i only see the manufacturing of one not putting it in use. thanks!

  • @willy101010 You can write to the support department of dragon group china with the purchase number, they will direct you to videos of those machine working on with videos done in New York of the whole procedure.

    Thanks

    DGC Media

  • so i got the KADA 852D+ bga station from dragon empire. what is the best setting for air and temperature for reballing 0.45 and 0.6mm so that they melt properly and wont blow away? and how thin do you mean very for the flux? like paper thin or half paper thing? you said flux cream. i have amtech 559ASM will that work? thanks!

  • @willy101010 , Willy, settings always depends on the weather where you are working, remember you are going to fit balls, not melt them completely, melting will be when you put the chip in the board again. You need to use very small flow of air so you dont send them away, and use the normal 180 to 200 air, about 2 to 3 cms, we have videos in break of the Kada working on that specifically. The flux is a extremely thin layer, if not the balls will skate on the chip. 559 ASM works

  • i bought the bird 4k which has been doing a good job removing the chips and also watching your videos for guidence. my question is everytime i pull the video chip off the boards the chips would be a very clean pull with all the solder still in place but on the motheroard there will be atleast 4-6 at a time black spots or what I think it is pulled solder pads.Today i put the chip back on the mboard with the missing pads i got 1 mboard with no video as usual and the other no power at all?

  • @vette9998 , usually if a chip has losts pads is because many of chips cannot resist the use they get, and they just lost pads for over use, or bad assembly, many Xbox of first and second generations have had always this problem and reports indicate that the chips had not proper assembly in the first batches, the only way there is to replace full chip. Try to flux more and do more preheating than top heating, that will help you improve also your removing technique, preheating is the key and flux

  • Hi. Im kind of lost here. Is the 559 ASM used for attaching balls onto the GPU? If yes, what is used for lifting of chip? Can I have full name? I know it's gel but I can't find "Flux Gel", I need full name. Thanks!

  • @davy06511 559 ASM is the type of flux, for both lift or reballing, just the consistency is different, if is lifting is flux gel, if is reballing cream is used, because in lifting you need heat dispersion and lubrication faster and direct, in reballing the cream is a so thin layer that just help the balls for a second while they fit in place. Also flux remember that is helping to avoid oxygen to get mixed into the procedures.

  • Question Sir, What is the small thing with silver color for reballing?

  • @yvonnemyles06 I guess reballing balls. If is tape, would be insulation tape, also the tweezers are silver. Can you tell me the exact moment you want the answer for ? :)

    Thanks

  • Very nice work. I am planing to reball my laptop's video chip. The laptop is a lenovo ls510- 2847mu modele. Specs shows its a GMCH (Integrated video chip). The chip size is 33x33 mm but dont know ball size 0.45? 0.5? etc. I did not lift it yet, I am about to order the stencils, the flux (cream +gel), my only concern is the stencil size. Any suggestion would be well appreciated

    Thanks

  • @jetsimo Sir, we do not have suggestions for that, only that check the chip exact reference, and order that exact stencil online, usually the stencils say which balls to use.

  • I'm thinking of doing the same with my vga board however it seems to have some brown coloured glue, this would be my first attempt. Any tips :S

  • @CssniperAus 3M Silicone Remover, or Glue remover

  • that sir was amazing...how come it doesnt work like that when i try it!? lol

  • @ozzyme1220 Because takes practice to get to this level, keep practicing , you will for sure.

  • do you ever have the solder balls flipping off the die when you are heating them on to it? I seem to get that all the time.. :(

  • hi how do u get the stencil for the chip?

  • @ndrson88 Dragon Group China

  • didnt show remount :(

  • @meadowsirl This is just a reballing video sir, not about lifting and fitting :)

  • Man, you make it look so easy... i have attemted it myself, but it is quite hard. Could explain more? What the fluid is for etc? I have already broken 2 COK-002 PlayStation 3 motherboards While removing the solder from the boards. How do you remove the solder from the boards? And where did you get that solder machine? Mine's a cheap DIY store one...

  • @Bounkass Flux prevent oxidation and help because is a lubricant, like oil in an engine, in this case is cream because the time the cream takes to melt help the balls stay in place. If you are doing lifting of chips is better use gel liquid one, so can melt faster and lubricate and expand the heat.

  • Is that mercury you putting on that thing

  • @giorclano Unlead solder sir. That is Silver Copper and Tin sir.

Or Lead and Tin in the other kind, but there is no mercury here.

  • superb work.

  • Good job and nice handy work. I think what people are not really seeing is the steady hand motion. Even when I did my best work I was never that still.

  • @BlikBamf well you need to practice like if you were repairing a watch sir :)

  • @digitooltv I haven't sat down to do any circuit design/builds for 6 years. I mostly do software dev and ops now. Except for the occasional quick solder job I'm probably never going back to the part of my life.

  • HI, are you using two different flux, is their one for cleaning the old solder and another one to add to chip for soldering . whats the difference it the cream vs gel. i'd be using the t-862++ machine. thanks

  • @collazoscesar , No sir, there is one flux that is used in lifting, and one that is use all in reballing, the reballing part all use is cream for the viscosity , that helps more to fix balls in the chip, while the gel or liquid is use in lifting for lubrication and spread even the heat, like in the engine of a car, that is the liquid flux, but then to fix the balls is the creamy one. because gives a sticky status to the balls. If you use too much will be skating balls what you have.

  • wow thats cool have you ever reball a xbox 360 gpu chip

  • @stonelovesound , Check all the BIRD series videos, that is enough for Xbox there.

  • @muharraqi55 Not at all. But thanks for the empty and not smart comment.

  • when i melt the solder balls with my kada 852D hot air rework station, it seems to blow the balls off position before they get a chance to melt. any tips on keeping them stationary? (its at lowest air settings and i use ASM559 flux)

  • @willy101010 Use the cream for the reballing, never use the gel one in rebaling, and use an spatula to put very very very thin layer, that can help the procedure, without flooding.

  • Hi. can you tell Us please what flux need to use for lift chips,.can you please tell name and number. thank you

  • @TheZAM09 AMTECH 559ASM

  • wow

  • @shednoshef :)

  • This is the best reballing video I have seen on here.

  • @sini8080 Thank you so much :)

  • hello there are two forms of flux one for reballing anf the other for cleaning would you please tell me their names ? thanks

  • @lovelytuber

AMTECH - 559 - ASM , the difference is the viscosity, not to clean, you use gel to lift chips, cream to do reballing.

    Greetings

  • I'm heaving trouble to fill the stencil with the balls, should i use flux (which one) between the IC and the Stencil? and when I heat the stencil, it folds, and lift the sides, and i cant melt correctly. Should i fix the stencil somehow? What should I do? please help me.

  • @poplamen

You are using too much flux and the wrong way to heat the stencils. Stencils are .3mm in the world, and no matter how you do the heat, cannot be too much time on the stencil or net, remember you are fitting balls in the chip, not melting them , that is when you go to the main board, right now there is no need so much temp and also you need to do circles around the stencil or net, or spirals, depends which system you use, if hot air nozzle or infrared top heater.

  • whats reballing?

  • sir can i ask what kind of plastic did you put at the chip? tnx

  • @Villacarlos2008 Flux is not plastic is a lubricant, spandex chemical used in cream for reballing and gel for lifting

  • What sort of fluids are required for reballing? is there a special flux to use for example?

  • @scampc Flux cream, usually. 559 AMT

  • Wow, is amazing, i am do it reballing but what flux do yo use? The brand, can you tell me?, and the stencil doesn't deform?,what type or brand you are using? tanx for your video.

  • @e023007 AMTECH 559 ASM

  • Is that not a lot of exposure to toxic chemicals to skin? I worked in a place that did that sort of thing on a circuit board scale and we where warned against excessive chemical exposure.

  • @shiftat9000 That is only if you are working with old flux, or lead, AMTECH Fluxes are very good for low chemicals, no chromium or bromium

  • good job

  • check out my new reballing video in HD

  • Holy crap man thats tedious. There are much simpler methods of reballing than this.

Your going to drive someone crazy if they try this method.

  • Yup, shitty techno music is WAY better than an explanation of what is happening.

  • Thank you for your answer

    Best regards jim....

  • thanx for the reply Digi, got a last quest for you: do you reball the pins on the motherboard before placing reballed pc chip over it or the solder balls on pc chip will fill up the pin holes? many guides and vids often lack this step. thanx : >)

  • haven't you reflow it in the oven after reball or the heatgun takes care of that? you coat the stencil with flux? i've never seen anyone done that in rework.

  • @texican512 Heat Gun or Infrared or Oven, all work, depends mainly is your top mold compound. Nets do easy with the heat gun. Like in this video, stencils go better under heat from top heater source.

  • wehat kind of solder are you using? and how to use the flux?

i have a 8w solder, it gets black and doesnt melt the metal.. and i use alot of flux....

  • @protesialbanese Lead free 96.5 3 .5 balls flux going when you going to fit the balls back. lots of flux is not good.We have many more videos coming the next month.

  • very good job ...... shame that here in GREECE are difficult to obtain the materials for reballing

what paste you use; Again excellent job.......

  • @jimjim1972 Solder balls, Fluxes all directly from Dragon Group China, they ship to Greece sir.

  • Is that alcohol in the bottle?

  • @toadmaster1977 We use alcohol yes, but mixed with a bit of acetone , you can do both separately

  • It that a COKE pinky nail you got going on there?

Like the vid. Thank you you. I have an Intel E5240 CPU that some of the resistors came off the top. What system would you use to replace them. Also would you know the general values?

  • @digitalPimple You need a tweezers soldering iron for C elements on a board

  • really nice vid. can you give me tips about BGA reballing? i'm new at this area.

    thanks already

  • @UnHoly2k8 We have tips in our forum of reballing sir with all tips and specifications. you can check reballing . org

  • Also, what do yo use for cleaning your stencils?

Again, thanks for your educative video :)

  • you preheat them very low and use tin line.

    Thanks

  • Hi!! I'm very interesting in this process. Firstable I'd like to know if you can remove balls with any kind of tip, or It's necessary to remove them with a knife tip. Also what kind of paste do yo use for soldering balls, any past for soldering or is special like "no-clean" paste?

Please answer my questions, thanks for your educative video :)

  • Any kind of tip works, when the chip is heat, they are not balls anymore, is just corrosive soldering. That needs to be totally clean and removed to make again the contacts. K, D C tips can help you.

  • dont push theses balls that you didn't use off the table (as saw in the video) because chineses do the most pollution in the world.

nice video like tuto but need to be clean in your own computer laboratory, right ???

  • Stick to the technology and video and the help we are trying to give to people, the racist part, leave it when you talk with your friends off line.

    Thanks

    DIGITOOLSTV

  • Thankyou for this video :)

  • You are very welcome

  • what was that thing that u put on at the end when u started to hot air it ?

  • FLUX CREAM

  • nice work

  • Thanks, more videos are coming soon

  • wow, I would have to pay a guy 3 times the cost of a new chip for that!

  • ever reballed a xbox 360?

  • Yes, but is not in Youtube.

We have done that but it is shown for videos of 2010 only from a new office, not from China.

  • I bet it didn't fix them perminently since the problem with them is a faulty GPU, not BGA soldering.

  • atcually its not.

its the lead free solder. so reballing will mostly do fine.

  • That was in response to the Xbox question and sorry, it IS the GPU that is faulty, not the soldering.

  • Please put up a video of the 360 reball.. I will buy if I have confidence in the product :)

  • Sir, products are not about confidence, are about practicing and capabilities of the operator of the products, specially BGA one. in 2 to 3 weeks, will see the best video ever made about this procedures, directly from USA.

  • @digitooltv

Hi...I am a beginner in Bga Reballing and following instructions. I am using Reballing Jig and want to know how long & what temperature should I heat bga with stencil. Mine keeps dropping off. Help will be appreciated

  • hi!! What is the liquid you clean the stencil? I have read is called tiana water, but I'm not sure what is its equivalent on America?

Do you recommend purchase an ultrasonic clean washer for cleaning stencils or what solution do you use?

    Thanks in advance.

  • what was the solution you applied to the stencil before you placed it on the bga?

  • Comment removed

  • is there a special name for the clear guide plate (I assume made of glass) ?

  • Great Video! any recommendations as to what temperature I should have my hot air on when I am heating up with the flux on after you put the balls in?

  • The less pressured air, as the net or stencil any of the 2 you are using can bend if the air pressure is high, the brushes like a painter remember, not to focus too much time in the same center. That is depends on the weather, but usually around 200 to 270, if you are in a very hot area and you are just learning use less heat. anyway the Lead will react already in 180, unlead will react in 230. Depends on the alleation you are using.

  • @digitooltv 180 Celsius or Fahrenheit?

  • @idodo1 Celsius

  • you make it look so easy! does the stencil ever pull the solder balls off?

  • Well is not easy, has to be practiced long time to get it done right.

  • how is that type of solder called?

  • Reballing Balls.

  • I'm trying to reball the Nvidia chip on a Vaio laptop, I have everyting from Dragon Group China.

I only have doubts when soldering back the chip to the MB can you gice me some tips? The chip will melt tooo low and the solder will mess up if I use the Kada :((

  • halo........

  • Hello there.

    Thanks for watching

    DIGITOOLTV

  • can u do my xbox 360 ill pay £60

  • Sir we are in China, i bet many in UK can do that :)

  • Yeah but sadly i dont know anyone who can do it here

  • Well, I am sure there are people trying it and making reballing in all world now.

  • Yeah, ive looked on ebay and people are offering to do it for £60, thats a complete rip off.

  • I am using your technique and it works well, has the same stencil, but it happens that the flux heats up and the balls pop out. What happens? the balls are too big for the stencil?

  • You are using too much heat, for long time in the same space. Heat has to be gradual and momentaneous, this step of the procedure when heat is applied in the balls, is to FIX them, not to Melt them totally, as soon you get them into position, the melt and final fix is in the board again, not in the reballing station.

If you using hot air, use with little air presure and use as a painter, if you use a BGA machine with infrared, put gloves on and do circles around the beam.

    Thanks

    DIGITOOLSTV

  • Hello friend.

What is the name of this box that you use to align the solder?

    Abraços.

    Great video

  • Dragon Group China Reballing Station Professional , that was the version N2, now the version is N3.10 with double An process.

  • what is the solder made of?

    where do you get it?

  • Check our website.

  • What's the title of the music track used in this video?

  • Forever

  • many thx´s for this...

    very good job...
