You can't manual focus while you're recording at all, at least that I can figure out. You can manually focus beforehand, but the manual focus isn't that good. You have to use the left and right buttons, which isn't very fast, and it automatically zooms in really far to "assist" you, but most of the time it just makes it harder for me.
do you mean the quality decreases when you upload the video onto youtube or just in general. i just need the slow motion for my general needs. if i upload it onto my computer will the quality still be decreasing? thanks for the speedy response.
There are 4 different speeds you can shoot video in.
One is at 30 frames per second (normal speed) and this is in HD. The next is 210 fps which is what the opening shot of this video is in. Then there is 420fps which is the speed that I shot my sister buzzing her lips in. The slowest it gets is 1,000 fps which is shown with the shot of the lighter.
The higher fps you shoot in, the lower the quality of the video. It gets blockier and the resolution is smaller.
The speed that is the video is playing is the speed that the camera naturally shoots in. There are 3 different speeds, but the slower you go the lower the quality.
You can slow any of them down if you want in a video editing program, but it won't be nearly as smooth as when you shoot it at that speed.
Hope that helps out. This is a really fun camera. It's not the best at what it does, but it does so much it's worth it.
neat video!

One question about the camera. Can you zoom while taking videos?
dabn69 2 years ago
You can chose to either record sound during video, or be able to zoom during video. You cannot do both while filming.

can you not just watch the video in normal speed? =/

Yeah, if you shoot in high definition or in standard definition it's at normal speed.
There is a separate mode for high speed videos and normal speed videos.
